Preliminary (3/18 chp)
I am feeling like breaking rules with this manga – I am going to review early (at 3 chapters) and I am going to advertise a bad reading attitude. I’ll do this, because the first chapter of Levius is so stunning, that, frankly, I feel it’s better to read it in isolation or make a stop before going further. I’ll also rate capriciously, based on my impression of a the first chapter, for the sake of attracting attention of more readers (though this manga seems to get enough love at home, as well as be licensed and sold far ahead of English fan scans in ...

I don't usually do review because the mangas I love already got great score (Berserk, Akira, Gunnm, Vagabond, Death Note etc...) but Levius is underrated here.

I was introduced to the Levius manga thanks to the anime that I loved. But I was blown away by the manga : it's way different. Still a steampunk universe but way more violent, beautiful and shocking (Volume 3 specially). The art is fantastic, the more you look at it, the more you are impressed. The story is way more than a steampunk boxing manga. I won't say more because I don't want to spoil anything.

Levius has gone straight to ...

This will be my second written review on this website. I usually don't feel compelled to write them but I do so when it's for underrated mangas that are misunderstood or need more attention.

This is one of them. I found out about this manga as I was reading some random Twitter thread where people weresupposed to list down obscure manga, and as always, people were listing well-known things like Jigokuraku Hell's Paradise or Jujutsu Kaisen. One person however, mentioned this manga and it seemed very interesting so I felt compelled to check it out.

The first few chapters didn't grab me initially, because though I ...

The story line, the characters, the art are all truly amazing. I would recommend this for sure, and could see myself coming back to re-read. There are just a few things, minor really, that keeps me from truly loving it. The art is stunning, no question, but when it came to some fight scenes it was hard to make out what was happing. This was disappointing since it was usually at the high of suspense. I know it was trying to show the actions in motion, but it was a little too obscure at times. Another thing that bugged me was the repeated panels of ...

Every once in a while I come across a series that grabs me by the throat and says "Come on kid, we’re going for a ride."

When it comes to the series itself, you’ll find that the hook comes in early, namely the art. Levius features some positively *breathtaking work*. What was particularly striking to me was the level of emotional affect in the facial expressions throughout the volume.

Where the story really demonstrates its strength is the major narrative shift that happens in the 2nd act. While some stories have difficulty re-centering the readers attention on a new “target”, Levius effortlessly ties in the connection to ...

Im torn between giving it a 10 or a 9, what captivated me the most, and what made me start reading Levius is the art style, but it is not only a beautiful work visually, the characters gain great depth in the short run it has, and the world is incredibly interesting, its got brutal and stoic art, while also balancing out with beauty. In the beginning the narrative reminds me a lot of Blame! it relies a lot more on its art, and visual story telling rather than in dialogue, but as the work progresses we learn more about the characters, their personalities, and ...

What an amazing manga Levius by Haruhisa Haruhisa Nakata was and is. In a first part of 18 chapters, this work introduces you to a vaporized, mechanized and industrialized world, reminiscent of different times, another era, a world of violent and deadly fights.

Oneself without knowing, would say that Levius is boxing, but to what extent?
The manga makes believe that it will be another fight story, but it changes and gets involved in political issues within itself, the war is a very present reminder that they take on importance as we move forward.

To the point that even something that seems like a "simple" fight can ...
