Manga versions of long light novel series are often just disappointing advertisements for the novels. Unlimited Fafnir is a little bit better than that... but just a little bit.

Story: 5/10 There are WAY too many plot elements for 20 chapters. Three years earlier, a boy mysteriously saves his sister from a dragon. He then gets whisked off to be an assassin for the military, while she develops supernatural powers, related to the dragons, and is sent to a school to train those. This series starts with him joining her at that school--the only boy there--and encountering a pretty naked girl. ... Then come the harem antics, fights with three different dragons, betrayals at the academy, mysterious backgrounds for each of a dozen characters...

Like I said, way too much plot for 20 chapters. None of it is bad, but it all happens too fast to be comprehensible.

Art: 8/10 The art is solid. The character models are standard, shounen "cute", but done well. The backgrounds and battle sequences are pretty well drawn.

Character 7/10. Too many characters as well. I liked them all, for the most part. They all seemed to have interesting stories, and I wanted to know more about them. But, there is no depth to anyone... cause you know, a dozen characters in 20 chapters.

Enjoyment: 7/10. If you check your brain at the door, there are some amusing harem antics between well-drawn battle sequences. So yeah, pretty fun.

Overall: A generous 7/10. It's not a bad manga, at all, but it's not really good either. If you want to know whether to try out the Light Novel series, it's worth a read. If you really love manga like Trinity Seven or High School DxD... well, this is a not-bad manga in the same genre, and it won't take up much of your time.

For the rest of you, go elsewhere.

I'm on a short Manga kick right now, so at 21 chapters this was a good size for me at the time. There's a bit to discuss so I'll get right into it.

Story: so the actual plot itself is a really neat idea. The problem is the writing and decision making on behalf of the author. There's a lot of information, and plots that are all going at once, youre left feeling a bit flustered with the amount of things you have going on. I don't mind subplots, but with only 20 chapters you need to tone it down. Though the ending is own for ... a sequel, I'm not sure if I would read it with how jumbled this one went.

Art: really nothing special. I'm not sure if it was the quality of scans, but it made it seem rough or old.

Characters: to be honest half way through I was wondering if this was a harem series. Cause close to the end it was shaping up to be that way lol. Maybe that's why it has an adult tag on websites? Idk. But the characters are pretty basic.

I'm the end I wouldn't recommend this Manga. It's nothing special, and the ending is disappointing. You expect something bigger and you're short changed.

This is my first review so bear with me!

I thought this was a great concept and I really did want to enjoy it a lot. But I am going to have to give it a generous 5 rating. I’ll write some pros and cons:

Pros:

Nice concept for a story

The lingo and terminology for the story’s sci-fi aspects were well described and easy to understand.

... The art was good, and not overly fanservicey for a harem.

Cons:

The story was very poorly executed. Not only that, but I had this feeling midway through the 4th and final volume that the ending was going to make it worthwhile. Instead, there was a cliffhanger and not much was resolved. I know this is based on a light novel, and I am not sure if the novel was still ongoing, but either way, it left me unsatisfied.

Very under-developed and almost identical characters. Yuu was a very generic male protagonist, his sister was unlikeable to me for the most part, the writer did not help me sympathize with Iris enough to care what happened to her, and the rest were pretty much just in the background. I feel that I could have really like Firill and Ariella had they been given a backstory or even more lines.

The harem element also fell short. I do enjoy harems because of the variety of female characters we get, but these girls were neither relatable nor charming in my opinion. I always knew which girl Yuu would pick. Not that it isn’t obvious in most harems, but I like when the protagonist wavers somewhat. It makes it more realistic for me.

Overall, this one is skippable in my opinion. It is never a good thing when you are happy a manga was so short. This didn’t stand out in any of its listed genres and was very average.
