One's a musician, the other a dancer, both are good stories, though different.

they have a similar feel. piano no mori is about piano and dance! subaru is about dance. both stories begin at childhood and move toward adulthood

Both mangas approach the classic danse's topic in a really realistic way. Both have a serious main character who fully devote herself in her passion. Both will witness the delopment professional & personnal Subaru might be a little darker than Grande scène. If you like one, there is no mistake to go for the other !

A brilliant young artist prodigy with a very sad personal trying to make it in art. both are great stories!

Both girls had a very unique childhood and had difficult relationships with their mothers. Dance! Subaru is darker than Skip Beat, while Skip Beat has more comedy. Both are about two young girls who posses a very strong talent in their fields, Skip Beat its acting and Subaru its ballet.

Both leads are weird in their own way (they definitely are not normal heroines). These mangas follow the girl on her journey to become the best at her under-rated sport. The character development of the lead is great, along with her allies and enemies. There is romance, however, in Chihayafuru, whereas in Dance! Subaru, there is not any.

Those two mangas have very different stories and topics and they might not look similar at all at a first glance, however if you don't just simply look at the plot you'll definetely see many similarities..They're both very long mangas that follow the main character (or characters in Cipher's case) through a lot of evolutions in a long span of time and through different settings and location (with many encounters with great side characters along the way). In both the protagonist/s goes through a traumatic experience in the childhood/early teens which affects them a lot, and both have really great and in-depth character development. Also  read more

Dance! Subaru isn't a martial arts manga but it does have other things in common with The Breaker that make it a perfect fit for an unconventional recommendation! For one thing there's the art, the art of both The Breaker and Subaru is unusual, (some would call it classic or old fashioned some would call it weird) but both of the art styles are skillfully used to properly build up to amazing moments or panels that stand out and thrill the reader. Really special art moments. Also the main characters of both mangas dive into a world that most people don't inhabit, for Shioon it's the  read more

Dance/Ice Skating Main character goes through a lot of development from underdog to stardom.

both are about absolute geniuses of their respective fields that nobody can match (subaru dancing, hibiki literature), and their talents becoming recognized at large both protagonists come across as pretty much psychos to people around them, being impulsive and strange, their view of the world and priorities considered bizarre, they also speak their mind without any filters which leads to a lot of confrontations, though Subaru is way more emotional and moody, while Hibiki way more sociopathic Subaru focuses way more on the creative/improvement process of its protagonist, while Hibiki more on the relationships and problems of people around the protagonist

Both feature a female lead with the incredible skill to dance ballet with intense emotions and bring out the character they are immersed in. In Do Da Dancin' the heroine has support from her parents to pursue ballet, resulting in her becoming an incredibly good dancer with a lot of passion. Until one day her mother gets in an accident and perishes making her lose all will for dancing. From then on she dances without emotion and more casually. Eight years pass and she encounters a man that brings her spirit and love for ballet back. In Dance Subaru, Subaru lives for taking care of her terminally  read more

One girl facing the pressures of the music and art world as she struggles with her own obstacles and tragedies that befall her. Both are exemplary drama manga series that warrant the must read status for manga literature.

One's a model, the other is a dancer, but both mangas are similar, they are about young girls with a lot of potential trying to work in the entertainment...both have good stories, but the one is more focused on Lele's personal life then Dance Subaru

The passion of dance, though "Dance! Subaru" is much more long and passionate than "23:00".

The protagonist in Subaru is also striving to become a ballerina. She has many teachers that help her achieve this goal, as she strives to become the top of the world. Both characters are pushed to their limits and improve at an amazing speed.

Subaru and Rin (Rideback) are both prodigy ballet dancers who pour there soul into it. Although Rin expresses her dance through Rideback, and Subaru is solely through ballet, readers who felt the raw power of Subaru should like Rideback (and vice-versa) as it conveys a similar atmosphere. The tempo of both stories is fast paced and keeps you on your tippy-toes. Lastly both manga display strong female leads that clash with their conscience. If you liked one your sure to enjoy the other.

It has the similar atmosphere of tragic where the main girl tries to overcome it with their passion i.e. either ballet or figure skating :P

They both focus on one character's very long journey to perfection and extremely in-depth understanding and mastery of their respective fields (Kokou no Hito - mountain climbing, Subaru - dancing). The protagonist is all that matters, Subaru gets a lot of people who help or try to hinder her in her task, recurring characters, while Kokou no hito much less, i literally cannot remember more of them than like 2 that show up for more than a few chapters. Both protagonists only care about achieving greater heights and understanding of what they do, neglecting social life whatsoever, feeling lonely, isolated and not understood by anyone.  read more
