They give the same kind of feeling. Not so feminine female main character, that falls in love or something with a super handsome guy... I like them both. So, if you're a fan of the gender (shoujo manga) then you'll probably like them too. ^_^

The female main characters have very similar personalities/qualities: Hard working, looked up to, independent, and very much in denial of love feelings towards male main character (tsundere). The humor is great in both mangas and the setting for both is high school. However, Namaikizakari is more sport orientated.

Both of these are romance mangas. The female leads are quite similar to each other. They deny that they are in love and will have an cold heart expression on the face all the time. And the male leads are also similar, they confess their love to them and being super straight forward. 
And even if they get shoot down they won't stop. They always have this "cool" face on.
So if you liked one of these your guaranteed to like the other one.

Well, we have the same kind of character both in Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! and Namaikizakari. Both Usui Takumi ( Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! ) and Shou Naruse ( Namaikizakari ) is trying so hard to make Misaki Ayuzawa ( Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! ) and Yuki Machida ( Namaikizakari ) saying that they ( Misaki Ayuzawa and Yuki Machida ) are faliing in love with them ( Usui Takumi and Shou Naruse ). Both 2 protagonists also have the same characteristic. 

Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! and Namaikizakari also give you some romance story in a school life. With the difference background, these manga gives us 2 female protagonist who superior in what they do. Misaki Ayuzawa is a school president council and Yuki Manchida is a baskeball club manager. And they have 2 male protagonist who aren't interested at what others do at first, but then become so much helping.

If you like Kaichou wa Maid-Sama!, I'm sure you will like Namaikizakari, and vice versa. Hope you enjoy it. read more

Both have similar male lead who gives the feeling that cold but cute sense. Both teasing the female lead that both female lead don't know if their love is true or a joke. 
They are similar in many ways so if you enjoy when reading either one you will enjoy the other while reading.

Namaikizakari and Maid-sama! are very different setting wise. Namaikizakari is about a high school Basketball Club whereas Maid-sama is about the student council president and the schools resident hot boy. Where these manga are similar are the characters and their interactions. The ML in both manga are the schools hot guy, that all the girls wanna get close to but he only wants to be around and tease the FL. The FL's are similar as well both put up this perfect persona, while they actually struggle sometimes. This is when the ML's will stop their teasing and actually help their girl :) The interactions and characters are very similar in the two manga and if you liked one you'll probably enjoy the other. read more

Both manga feature a somewhat unlikely romance between hard-working teen girls and hot idol guys who love teasing them. Both girls want to keep the inevitable romances a secret and struggle to deal with how this will affect their social position (as in, getting hated for dating a guy "above" them, etc.). Both are also very funny and have lots of heartwarming moments and cute romance.

The ML are pretty similar in how they are both badass but do not entertain any girls other the FL. 
Similar FL who straight up ignores MC's advances and is pretty strong willed.

Both series revolve around a tough female lead and her troubles with a popular, affectionate boy who seems to like her more than she'd prefer. Both love interests are cool and sly, but in Namaikizakari there's a lot more, well, third base. Without being rushed, of course. Both stories have a more natural feel than most shoujos, and the female lead isn't a total ditz, but rather someone you can root for and actually relate to.

looking from the outside they aren't simmilar at all, but when you actually read them you start to notice that they have a lot in common. First of all both have that exciting and sweet atmosphere and it's really addicting so you just can't stop reading them. Secondly they have interesting, outstanding and sometimes even crazy in their own way characters and I think that it's because of them that the storyline doesn't seems so cliche. Besides, their art is beautiful, especially Horimiya which has my 2nd favourite art. 
PS: another good thing is that their storylines is more about their lives and not that much about the "youth". I mean it doesn't revolve only around school events and things like that....  read more

Tsubasa to Hotaru addpermalink

In both mangas, the heroine plays the role of being the manager of the basketball team. They are caring nice, and above all, care for their team. Inadvertently, she falls in love with one of the players, despite being in love with her senpai before. It is hinted that the guy likes her back in Tsubasa to Hotaru, but in Namaikizakari he does like her back. Both basketball teams in both mangas ban love, so they are forced to meet secretly. 

If you've read one manga and enjoyed it, you might like the other.

These sports mangas are quite similar in their set ups and characters and even the way the characters act.    In each we have a female manager of a male sports club in school.   Both girls come across are hard, scar,  bossy but hard-working, and are sort of tsunderes yet they started managing because they were secretly in love with the captain but never tell him.    The male leads are a different guy who falls for them and both guys come across as pushy and a good athlete but they sincerely fall for the manager girl first and strive hard to get her to fall for them.   The male leads are also persistent in their pursuit.   These shoujo sports mangas have strong characters,  Akaiito is martial arts while Namaikizakari is basketball.    read more

Namaikizakari is really similar, both MCs are connected through a sport. The shoujo is the senpai. In both manga, the male MC is more pushy with the 'physical affection' (e.g kisses). Ichire shite, Kiss reminded me of Namaikizakari straight away. The air around the MCs in both manga remind you of either.

This romance manga has a lot of character development with the use of romance and basketball. However, compared to Kono Oto Tomare!, I will say that it is a bit more mature since this manga takes place over a longer period of time.

There are still scenes that are tooth-rottingly sweet!

Both series have a guy who likes the heroine, and doesn't want to give up. Both heroines are strong, and are both blunt. Differences are that the guy in namai is very masculine while the guy in honey boy is very feminine. Both are cute shoujos so if you like one youll like the other.

Why? both of them have a rebellious guy / girl who falls in love with a cold "heartless" girl, both of them have pretty similar romance between them, similar art too.
However, Citrus is more dramatic while Namaikizakari is more comedic and funny.

Very different stories - Namaikizakari is much more traditional shoujo but with a surprisingly mature bent, while Kakao is roughly half dedicated to discussions of the motivations of friendship and bullying, but oh my GOD if you're here for the "pushy and kinda mean but surprisingly perceptive and sentimental prettyboy" X "responsible girl who wants to get better at connecting with people and who has an absurdly meltingly tsundere side" for the love of CHRIST pick both up now. Perfect executions. Kakao is more heartfelt and has more to say, but Namaikizakari is unexpectedly close behind for what it is.

I find the first oneshot and of this collection and Namiakizakari similar because it involves a male kouhai falling in love with an older female sempai that is already in love with their president of their club (that both have girlfriends). Both females also find themselves falling in love with their kouhai. However, Kanojo ga Kare ni Orichu Wake is a oneshot and Namikizakari is an ongoing manga.

I am recomending this because they both have and an older girl and younger boy dynamic. The girls are pretty big sisterly and caring, and you can say the boys are kind of the jealous types when it comes to another guy liking their crush and they act sort of childish.

The women play such a strong lead. They are sure of themselves and are confident.
While the male in The Prince's cactus acts arrogantly, he can't help but fall for the main, but in Namaikizakari, he's fallen for her since the beginning of it. 
The main similarities are that even when the male is persistent with the protagonist, they do not let it get to them so easily as usual mangas do. I guess you can call it a female tsundere role while the popular guy falls for them?

Well, so far I read Kiss de Seiyaku, it has teasing and arrogant male protagonist. Kinda remind me of Namaikizakari. Eventhough Naruse of Namaikizakari didn't described as a playboy one like Haruto at Kiss de Seiyaku. 

Well, if you like this kind of male protagonist, I'm pretty sure you will like them. Eventhough they give you different kind of story. But, they are worth to read.
