In these two, death is only the beginning. Initially average lead characters find themselves confronted with monsters and fight death-matches over and over AND OVER until they become killing machines without fear or doubt. Not even death itself is an escape since characters are revived in Gantz and death results in a never-ending time loop in All You Need Is KIIIIIIIILLLLLLL. There is no other similar characterisation that I have encountered. There are plenty of survival series out there, for sure, but none where characters grow mentally stronger by dying and gradually abandoning fear. Death being the starting point of both series, rather than an  read more

In both of these series the protagonist resets time upon his death. It portrays the character as someone who is struggling and fighting alone, with no help from others. One way or the other this ability will be exploited so that the protagonists and those dear to them will be able to survive.

+ A time period of just over a day repeats inifinity and ends each time with someone dying before everything is reset with most people not realizing the repetition is happening + The character who remembers every repetition uses that to gain knowledge and skills as they try to find a way out of the repetition - Hakomari is a novel series and has more than just the repeated schoolday while Kill is a manga that involves humans fighting against alien-like creatures for survival
reportRecommended by Asfaria
Both are about a person immersed in a loop that repeats the day they died until they find a way to survive through it.

Shounen-version of this series basically in which the heroes can simulate situations with programmed robot/mech-like monsters called Trion Soldiers and utilize tactics while fighting them in the real scenario using cool weapons.

Both mangas have alot of differences, but in some time-travelling aspects of their sci-fi concepts they're pretty simmilar.

Both the worlds in this two manga is so dark and the main characters went through a lot of suffering from the beginning to the end

Both stories involve killing as a way to exit a time loop
reportRecommended by RubanS
The protagonist finds himself in a time loop, one that is triggered by his death. He needs to overcome his fear and use the available means in the loop to get stronger and figure out a way to survive the loop and break out.

Both involve an MC stuck in a time loop, and both stories take place in a war-torn, apocalyptic setting, waging a seemingly futile battle against a species of alien invaders.
reportRecommended by Platypus900
Both of these works have the same structure of constant time loop, in which the protagonist has to find a correct solution to given situation, which is increasingly more taxing to his mental state, especially as those around him are continuously meeting gruesome death over and over again.

Both are about humanity fighting against a superior race that are nearly impossible to kill. Both deal with creatures that threatenes humanity. Both MC have a special gift that helps them survive. Both Attack on titan and All you need is kill are dark and gory.
reportRecommended by Asenil
Both are action packed and give off a very intense vibe. The character art looks similar and you can see some of the same expressions between the main characters when they have that evil smile across their face All you need is Kill will be a strong manga if it continues on it's current path

+ A repeated situation full of killing and gore + Very psychological and the stress of the situation the characters are in takes a heavy toll on them - Kill is about a large scale battle of humans vs. alien-like creatures while Higurashi is humans killing other humans and curses in a small village
reportRecommended by Asfaria
In both stories, humanity is on the verge of being extinct by frightening yet spectacularly designed alien creatures, who seem to be way too powerful to defeat. Nonetheless the protagonists are literally forced to keep trying, (using futuristic high-tech gear or mecha-like suits/machinery, if you will) and experience a lot of physical and emotional pain in order to do so. Both are very sci-fi and come with nice twists.
reportRecommended by Lawli-Pop
The protagonist is trapped in a time loop that activates after their death, and has to figure out the way to get out of it through trial and error, while observing the carnage and death that repeatedly occurs.

These two series are some of the greatest syfy manga you will ever read. Art and story are great in both
