Gimmick! (Manga)

This is an "IIP" (Impossible is possible) manga (look it up in my profile under my dictionary for other terms that I use; not shameless advertising). I decided to redo this review btw.

The story is pretty simple. As a matter of fact there isn't a story. It's a series of one shot episodes that hopefully lead up to a climax. Personally, I found the manga's idea to be nice: a guy does make up for people and disguises them.


The art is actually not that bad. I smell Get Backers on it everywhere though. A Brock lookalike appears in this manga only he's buff and awesome. Kohei is a bit bishounen for my tastes.

All the characters do well with each other, but I still wonder what the hell happened to his employer. She all of a sudden...isn't there. The villians are obvious though and are so one sided that there is zero good or amount of pity in them. How many people want money? A shitload.

I have enjoyed this manga and despite only having four volumes, this manga is amazing. It has great art and some nice twists along with cliffhangers. I will update this if I change my mind, but I doubt it.

Pros:
- Great art.
- Amazing plot twists.

Cons:
- Everyone wants money.
- Poorly drawn boobs.

It is like a series of manga chapter one shots in a way, there is always a conclusion in about 1-3 chapters.
The art is extremely good and looks realistic.

It's about Kohei Nagase a young Special Effects Make up artist, and his friend the stuntman Kanazuki. He does various jobs all with different scenarios, very enjoyable ways he uses his sfx skills to save the day, with the help of Kanazuki. Where it be exposing a scandal, disguising celebrities, to saving lives. He always wears a glove on his right hand, suggesting he has something to hide, if you read it, you'll find out what happened.

Involves interesting graphics and images that would entertain anyone, watch Nagase's masterpieces flourish and amaze, has a touchand just the right amount of echi.

The only thing that was disappointing was it could have continue for a lot longer than 9 volumes. Also in the end there wasn't much of an ending to it, but tied up some of the loose ends to it. read more
