To graduate from this high school essentially means you'll succeed in life, but graduating is very difficult. The school is presided over by a bear called Monokuma, and he explains to them that their graduation hinges around committing a murder. The only way to graduate is to kill one of your classmates and get away with it. If the other classmates discover the identity of the killer, the killer is the only one executed. However, if they fail to catch the killer, only the killer graduates and the others are annihilated. Which of the 15 will survive the bloodbath to come?

People are trapped and must find a way out before they get killed. Both series are based on murder and mystery.
The story started to seem very normal; nothing out of the blue. In Doubt, random teenagers and adults are having their quality time, but some of those very same people was kidnapped in separate rooms. In Dangan Ronpa, the students with outstanding talents are enrolled in the great Hopes Peak Academy. The protagonist awoke in an unusual room and later met up with the other players. The Mastermind (is anonymous) gives instructions of how the (game) operates. The game is to sacrifice a player with the most votes. If the one of the player was chosen or any person refuses to obey the rules, their punishment is death. The game in "Doubt", the rabbits have to find the wolf in disguise. If the rabbits are correct, they win, but if the rabbits are wrong, they are killed. In Dangan Ronpa, if a student committed a murder or two, a court is held. Students will have time to investigate for evidences before jury starts. After the debate to determine who is the legit murderer, the Mastermind gives the results. If the students are correct, the murderer gets the punishment, but if they're wrong, all students, excluding the murderer, gets the punishment and the murderer will graduate Hopes Peak Academy. If you like any of the Saw movies, I think you'll enjoy these two mangas.
These two manga have some similarities
-The two main mascots(alien Octopus in Ansatsu, mono Bear in Danganronpa) have similar traits, and habit
-The two mascots have some objective that is to destroy something.
-In Ansatsu Kyoushitsu the mascot is teaching the students to be better, but in Danganronpa the mascot teach them what is despair.
if you like more serious, dark manga then danganronpa for you,but if you like comedy then Ansatsu for you.
Both are stories where group of people from all walks of life are trapped and must kill each other in order to escape. Ongoing is the mystery of who is killing who and who can really be trusted in such a twisted game.
Both feature High School students that are forced into play-or-die circumstances by a strange/supernatural element that is unknown at the beginning of the story/arc. They both portray the despair of those teenagers before the situation their unable to understand, both have mysteries and psychological warfare or mind games through the "game". Both stories also have a weird "bear" explaining the rules and announcing the developments of the "game".
In Utsuro this is more applicable to one particular arc of the story but the feeling of despair is felt throughout the whole story. Danganronpa is a little sketchier, has more comedy to it, Utsuro has a constant heavy mood.
Students are trapped inside a school with no way of getting out except to "graduate."
>In both of these cases, "graduating" is not how graduating is usually done and the students are all pitted against each other with doubt.
>Semi-Spoiler: It's not really a spoiler, since it's hinted early on in both mangas that these students are all being watched on surveillance tapes/cameras
>It has the whole mystery& puzzles kind of feel that keeps you reading on and on until you have to stop and wait for the next chapter.
