After 8 years of hiatus, our boy Aiou finally won the court cases and came back, giving new updates.
The beginning of this series was first released around 2009. I read this Manhua when I was studying in China, and it still brings back good old memories. Since not many English readers know the context in which Bloodline was created, please let me take a moment and explain:
The Bloodline series was created by Aiou with a group of young, talented, and passionate Chinese manga lovers who followed their dreams to become a mangaka. This series has 2 prequels, "Bloodline: Fantasy Day," "Bloodline: Lost Paradise," and ... the main series, "Bloodline: The Illusory Noble Demon." It doesn't matter if you read the prequels or not; just reading the main series is fine.

(I'm currently translating the main series; come to Mangadex and take a look XD).

The group's earliest manhua was "Bloodline: Tomato Family." It was first published as a simple 4-koma slice of life manhua. Eventually they changed Bloodline to a more Shonen and serious-styled black-and-white manhua, which is "Bloodline: Fantasy Days" and "Bloodline: Lost Paradise," both of which were considered one of the highest quality manhua's you can see in that period (~2009).
Eventually the magazine they were in closed down, and the group was forced to switch to a new magazine, which required them to do full-color manhua's, so they started the main series "Bloodline: The Illusory Noble Demon," which is the reason why the early chapters look bad; the creators only did black and white before and don't know how to do colouring. However, the colouring and art style will greatly improve in future chapters. Believe me, Bloodline's future art is of really high quality—some of the best art I have ever seen in a manhua.
About the Forced Hiatus:
I'll copy and paste what I said on my credit pages:
This series was one of the most popular series in the magazine; however, the main author, Aiou was deceived into signing an unequal contract giving his author rights to Bloodline to the magazine. After the magazine stopped publication (again), the copyrights were still held by the company, and Aiou was prohibited from drawing the Bloodline series on other platforms. The series was forced on hiatus after chapter 107, where Aiou spent at least 3 years in court trying to get his manhua back. At that time, he spent all his money on the court fees. He was so broke that he even went to sell his actual manhua manuscripts from "Bloodline: Fantasy Day". (For $200 USD each)
The good news is that, recently, after 8 years from the original hiatus date, he announced he got back the copyrights for Bloodline. He will be platformless, and continue updating new chapters monthly, but since he doesn't have his friends' assistant anymore (Group was disbanded for many complex reasons, mainly because no money), he'll have to do all the colouring and drawing by himself, so the art quality isn't as good as before (but tbh even by himself, the art still looks beautiful).

About the story: Since this series isn't fully translated into English yet, I can't say much.
Bloodline's world setting is heavily influenced by DnD and WoD (my translations will also follow the settings of these two); the wizards in this series are inspired by DnD; "they have to read their books every day to prepare their spells." It's kind of rare to see this type of setting in a manga, and damn, Aiou really did well combining them. The wizards in Bloodline are cool, such as Rurutia and Uncle Lon. The way Aiou introduced them was impressive, especially Rurutia; she's like the perfect depiction of an elf wizard. Around chapter 50, when she was introduced, the paneling during her combat was extremely creative. I read that part when I was a kid, and I still remember how that part shocked me.

If u read Bloodline, you might know what the repetition of Rurutia means XD.

The story of Bloodline was not bad in itself, however, it could have been longer. I'm not going to write a long review but here are some things about it;

-The art was alright, but it was very hectic. I had a hard time understanding who was who and what was going on.
-In addition to that ^^^ it's supposed to be read from right to left, but the pages switched randomly back and forth between right to left and left to right, which made the hectic art REALLY difficult to understand (I'm not sure if the mangaka did this, or if it was flipped during scanning, ... or what).
-It was a nice plot, but it could have been explained a little better.
-Ends up feeling a little short, even for a one-shot.
