I have watched the anime first and started playing the game, but since I found all 3 chapters for a very good price, I decided to read this before finishing the game and it sure as heck did not dissappoint.

Before I start talking about it though, I really recommend you watch the anime first, because the manga feels like a very very short version of the anime ( Which is basically a short version of the game, I prefer the anime, but it's true ).

So, first thing I wan't to talk about is the story, it's obviously the same as the anime ... so that's why I'm not going to explain it here and there are synopsis out there so you can understand it. So I'll talk about what the manga does with the story. Basically, it picks everything from the anime and makes it way faster. Things that normally take 5 episodes in the anime, take 2 chapters here, it's really small. This is also the reason why I think the anime is way better, it's much more enjoyable for being longer.
But again, I recommend watching the anime first and then reading this, because this manga has some things the anime doesn't, which I'm not going to talk about because they won't make much sense for someone who didn't watch the anime.

Now the art, I was fairly surprised by it. It's pretty good but also very weird in a way. Characters changed A LOT from the anime ( Rukako looks completely different ), but it's still very good and refreshing to see them in a different way, so I don't dissaprove of it.

Overall, I enjoyed this manga quite a lot, specially after watching the anime and it's a very good read, it also looks very nice on my bookshelf as it is quite big compared to my other mangas. So, if you have the chance, buy it, reading digitally is also okay but the manga is too pretty not to have it.

I was originally going to start the anime first but I saw this and I couldn’t resist trying it out first.

The art style was much better than I expected, very beautifully drawn with such intricate designs. I always enjoy that incorporated the element of  time into the mix so I enjoyed that part of it very much too. It felt so realistic.

The characters are all very different in their own way and somehow test each other to their limits. I absolutely love the interaction between Okabe and Makise because it really shows that both men and women can work as team in a ... scientific department, whereas nowadays we are told the stereotype that women can’t do these certain jobs, specifically physics based. I’m all about that equality mate!

I’m gonna be honest with guys . I’ve always been crap at science in general because I enjoy fantasy better than reality, but this manga series has really changed my perspective on the whole experimental part of science. It’s kind of like a Back to the Future parody  but using a more  unique way to travel back in time.

Before reading this manga, watching the anime first is recommended. I heard the visual novel, the original source was great too, but I haven’t played it yet. This review will compare more of the anime to the manga.

In this manga, many things are rushed and it lacks the strength to give the reader attachment to the characters and story at times. The feeling of the “true” Steins;Gate experience is felt very rarely in the manga. Experiencing the anime helps build some appeal to the manga, but that just shows the manga is not sufficient. The manga’s writing feels like a watered down version of the ... anime, it’s like eating homemade pancakes with no butter, maple syrup, and no Upa drawing on the pancake. Attachment to the story was only somewhat felt towards the final few chapters of the manga.

Despite the manga’s shortcomings, the art in the manga was phenomenal, even better than the anime at times. Do not misunderstand, however, the anime was indeed animated well, and it’s greyish colour palette was very fitting for the story. The difference is that the manga art style invites more “anime-like” expressions than the anime itself, and it makes you feel refreshed, like drinking Dr. Pepper on a hot day. Furthermore, the characters and the settings in the manga were exceptionally well drawn. One example of this would be Faris’s design, it looked more charming when compared to the anime. Lastly, the manga edition (at least the complete manga edition) also has nice art behind the front and back covers.

Despite being a disappointment, the Steins;Gate manga is still great to have. If you are into collecting, it is a great manga to collect and looks amazing on the shelf. The story was a rushed, but the art solo carries this manga.

The Steins Gate manga has an abridged story from the original story (visual novel) therefore, some details and plot developments are lost but still remains a good story with emotional moments.

The art is good, the character design is different but nice and keeps its essence. The most important moments are very well captured and manage to convey the emotion of the scene.

In short I think it is a good alternative to see the story again if we have already played the visual novel or watched the anime (a great adaptation).totally recommended and I give it a 10/10 because I love Steins Gate.
