Synopsis

Unlike most villainesses, Melissa Foddebrat is not destined for the gallows or a life of misery. She is a beautiful but sharp-tongued young woman whose childish attitude is merely an annoyance to those around her. However, for a modern Korean woman who has been reincarnated in Melissa's body, none of that matters. She is inside the world of a novel she once read, reliving the life of a wealthy duke's daughter.

Melissa rejects the idea of continuing down the path of villainy. Instead, she strives toward a life of leisure, and to achieve this, she must first end her engagement with the womanizing and simple-minded crown prince. But severing her ties to an undesirable future is more challenging than expected, as the prince proves to be a stubborn opponent. Melissa must rely on her resilience from her former life to shake off the troubles of her new one and instead pursue what—and who—she truly wants.

It has a fairly standard settup for an otome isekai.
A girl is reincarnated into the body of a villainnes and needs to fight (mainly in the field of politics) to survive. Recommended primarily to fans of the genre.

The story is in my opinion at its strongest when focusing on the humour. Unfortunately for me the humour tapers out about halfway through to focus more on the political subplot and romance. Both of which are serviceable, but neither shines as brightly as the humour did in the first ...

Well the middle was better than decent, but in the first 20 or so chapters everything felt like it took 5 times longer than it should (explaining things, finding solutions, etc.).

And the end, well it came too soon, and the big baddie for all he had to say (and considering what he was) sure disappeared fast.

Also who gets married without showing any kind of intimacy first ? I was disappointed in that.

And then there's the side stories, which are a 3rd of the entire thing and contain everything the main story was missing, like side character development and the actual romance part because the main ...

The main character's goal was very straight to the point: to survive because she woke up as the antagonist one day out of nowhere. This was the second manga I read in a row that had a theme with dukes and duchesses and all the nobility.

As for art, you can find pretty/attractive characters, the usual scenes with all the pretty flowers (almost feels customary now that I think about it), and every now and then very nicely drawn sceneries.

Although it says that the manga is still ongoing, the main story ends with Chapter 92. Now, the author is just giving us extra side ...
