Weekly Shonen Magazine has a heater on its hands, really, this manga is absolute gas.

Coming from the successor to genius mangaka Atsushi Ohkubo, Gachi Akuta bashes its way into Weekly Shonen Magazine's pages, with its incredible world building, loveable characters, and insane potential.

The story (or the 6 chapters of story that we get so far) is great. The premise is unique enough with a world based in trash and filth. It makes for a very grimy aesthetic that I honestly really enjoy. Soul Eater and Fire Force make clear their influence, along with other series like The Promised Neverland. The narrative is very ... much rooted in mystery, as the MC along with the reader unravel the incredibly dense world Urana Sensei has laid out. Speaking of which, the world building is immaculate. I absolutely love how Urana Sensei unravels and paces out her manga; it flows excellently from chapter to chapter and reading weekly is a treat.

The art is absolutely incredible. This is literally some of the most beautiful, dynamic and skilled art I have ever laid eyes on, and it's drawn WEEKLY. The character designs give even the manga that inspire them a run for their money. This world is choc full of spunk, attitude, aggression and grime from the first chapter onward. If you're coming to this manga for anything at all, Urana's art is more than enough of a reason.

Speaking of characters, Urana Kei puts a ton of love into her characters. We've gotten to know 4 or so at the time of this review, and all of them are fantastic, and just as dynamic and aggressive as the art. I can't wait to see how they develop and am excited as all hell for the next chapter.

This manga is filled to the brim with potential, and as a regular reader, I am begging for the next chapter. I'm even more excited for the first volume release. I read all my manga in Japanese, so I'll be able to get my hands on it early, even better.

One of the best parts. It seems that this manga has double the creativity of manga like Soul Eater or Fire Force, with none of the baggage. Urana Kei is also a female creator, so if you're ever so inclined to support female mangaka, that's a great little bonus reason to support this manga.

Seriously, give this manga a try. It's an absolute wallop of flavor from the first page.

Okay so Gachiakuta is a newly released weekly manga that I started reading from the release of the very first chapter. So far (7th march 2022) there are only 3 chapters of it total. Not much content has been released so I won't be able to review it in the best way but nevertheless, here it is:-

Gachiakuta is a shonen manga that really has a unique concept. It's literally about "Trash and Garbage". The protagonist's name is Rudo and he seem to be really poor and barely makes up with his daily needs to survive. Rudo is pretty much outcasted by most of people and ... struggles to live in the society. He has an ideology that people easily throw things away and call it trash but it but infact they are pretty useful.

In the very first chapter, Rudo is accused of a murder and is sent to a place called "Abyss" which is like a place where all the criminals are send as well as the garbage is thrown. Abyss is like a whole new place (kinda like underworld). I think the story will focus upon the things Rudo faces and the experiences he will have in Abyss while trying to find a way to get back to the real world.

This Manga has some really good artwork and I believe it has the potential to become a great series in future. I'd definitely recommend to give it a try...

That was pretty much all that I had to say. It only has 3 chapters as for now so I can't really give any more details. Also, I'm not good with giving reviews but I tried my best. To be honest, I don't really think anyone's gonna read this weird review but in case you did, thanks a bunch...

I heard about Gachiakuta because apparently Urana Kei was an assistant on Fire Force. This leaves Gachiakuta with big devils footprints to fill. Thankfully it lives up to the standard of Ookubos works.

The first 3 chapters are the strongest point of the manga. Right after Rudo is dropped into the abyss countless questions will rush through your head. Questions that will not be answered immediately, rather rudo first has to join a group and learn the combat system in and out. Obviously. Here the artwork of the manga really shines. Overtly stylized character designs rendered to be as ugly and unrecognizable as humanly possible. Despite ... a lack of backgrounds in most panels, there's too much visual noise on screen. Which brings up the next issue. Characters often speak as if to only explain the world to us, this shows especially with the first antagonists. The same antagonists then also do the MHA thing of running away through a handy portal, leaving you in anguish as you wait for them to show back up and still be as boring as this time.

Despite what I just said, worldbuilding and power wise Urana Kei had a great idea and I'm hoping to see this series improve. Just as it stands right now, I cannot in good faith recommend anyone read this story.
