I only see one other review for this, which is obnoxiously long and absolutely shits on the manga with pages of elitist pessimism. So, here I am to keep the balance. If you like Dr. Stone, you will like this. It has the same science-y shounen solutions and great potential for the main series despite the absence of the main characters. There's also a healthy dose of tragedy. 10 billion percent recommend. However, the story focuses less on Byakuya than I expected, as most of his development was already depicted in the main series. The title implies we would learn a great deal more about ...

『This review contains MINOR SPOILERS from Dr.Stone and Dr.Stone Reboot: Byakuya.』

────「También está disponible en español.」

Here I go...

Dr.Stone Reboot: Byakuya is one of those things that you can consider VERY GOOD or VERY BAD. And here below I'm going to explain the reasons why.

First of all, I'll explain why this can be considered BAD; with that in mind, you have to know that this is totally canon ─very much to my regret─ and the story is not only made by Riichiro but that Boichi took the lead this time too (something that doesn't happen in the original series). And that's directly the problem here.

I'm a reader ...

Ah, yes. "Dr. Stone Reboob: Who's Byakuya, Again?"

Let me prepend the following by saying no manga is perfect, and the acclaimed Weekly Jump mainstay Dr. Stone is no exception. There's often the classic Jump contrivance ("this will go my way because I'm very determined, dattebayo!"), the omnipresent melodramatism, the use of hyped-up terms for completely unrelated concepts (e.g. calling a radio a "smartphone" just because that's the word modern kids learn first), the occasional out-of-character behavior, and sexualization of characters to an uncalled-for extent. Thankfully, these weaknesses are well-offset by Dr. Stone's numerous strengths.

Where the spin-off comes in is gathering pretty much all of the ...

Genuinely one of the best stories I have ever experienced from any anime or manga. Boichi was able to capture all of the best aspects of the main Dr. Stone story into one 9 chapter story. The new character introduced in this story stole the show and made me absolutely fall in love with them in just one chapter. The final chapter put a tear in my eye and made me want to re-read the entire story again. I am hoping TMS Entertainment can do a movie adaptation of this story, because if they do oh my god I am going to rewatch the crap ...

It's a pretty mediocre Dr. Stone spin-off. It turns out Byakuya is such a genius, he invented sentient AI. He's also such a weeb that he was working on a prototype to put his AI into a waifu. You'd think he'd focus on the programming, but his priority was to build the robot's bust. Yet, for some reason, he decided to be an astronaut instead of a billionaire selling AI waifus to the masses. Think about that again for a moment: Byakuya is an actual inventor while Senku just builds stuff that humanity already invented. It's a mystery how Byakuya didn't accidentally invent the revival ...

I have watched Dr. Stone on TV and in the manga, so I decided to read the side-story of Byakuya. It is quite short chapters and I enjoyed reading Dr. Stone Reboot: Byakuya throughout. Considering the quality of the story, the rate will be 6 or known as fair because it does not explain the full story after Byakuya and his team arrived in Japan after landed it from outer space. In anime, they actually showed in end or so on. Thus, I felt a bit disappointed after reading the chapters of Dr. Stone Reboot: Byakuya. However, most of the time, this manga is totally ...

I'm a sucker for lonely robots.

Let me state that I have only read the first few chapters of Dr. Stone. It wasn't for me, but I was curious what this prequel would hold. Turns out, even though it's called Byakuya, Senku's father, he's not the main focus. The first three or four issues are about the international space station crew witnessing the fall of Earth and then figuring out how to get back there to do...something. The rest of the series is about Rei, the cutest most loyalist robot that ever robot.

It's predictable. If you're a fan of Dr. Stone then maybe you'll feel ...

I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend all Dr Stone fans to read this reboot. You thought crying for One Piece Merry Go was a big deal?? wait till you read this and you will be crying for a robot for 9 chapters straight. The determination and innocence of the character is so pure that you cannot help but cry for. 3718 years is a huge number and to risk everything to save the planet, Rei is underrated to the core. Such a tiny robot has been protecting the earth for thousands of years and nobody knew of its existence, until Senku flies into space and ...
