Character’s with a time limit on their lives after a bad decision, and they grow as people with the time left with someone they love

To put it simply, both are about a young woman coming to terms with her own problems and facing tragedy in order to find her own way in the world.

The plight of both female protoganist is sort of similar. Though Aikawa's[BV] plight for me is much worse, Juri's[WnSnJ] character is sort of more believable for me.

I must say, that for me - personaly - the greatest similarity is one thing : I really was touched. The Endings are amazing. It gives you a very strange feeling, that nearly wants to make you cry. Both Stories are drawn from the same person (Yumeka, Sumomo), that why I guess the touch is so euqal. Both deal with romance, but in a very special way. These two stories are so loving, even though one hast to considerate how short they are. But I find this just gives them even more, this unique, deep and touching feeling that flows right into you, as soon as you've  read more

I recommend this because they share a similiar atmosphere of sadness. They both involve a woman that's having hardships involving the piano, and a guy she's falling in love with. Both very well written

Both are 8 chapter mangas about similar love situations between the main characters and has the same slice of life feel.

They both carry this feeling of melancholy and feature impossible romances.

These 2 wonderful manga share themes of romance, tragedy, and regret. Their story lines are rather deep as they involve death in some way, and many emotions are evoked in the reader. In Orange, the main character attempts to resolve her regrets regarding a close friend as directed by her future self in a letter. WnSnJ's protagonists, a suicidal pianist & scarred murderer, connect and attempt to make peace with their darkest secrets. Both stories' tones, characters, and artwork are brilliantly executed.

Both manga have drama, romance, and tragedy. Regarding the stories themselves, nice character development, beautiful artwork, and wonderful plots are present in each. Because they both have misunderstood characters and a character that wishes that they could live longer, the heart-wrenching atmospheres are also similar. The only difference would be that Rec - Kimi ga Naita Hi is shoujo, whereas Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan is more seinen/josei. Although WnSnJ is more unique and more favored, I think that fans of one will like the other. I believe that anyone, any age will find these 1-volume manga enjoyable.

Both series tackle themes of regret, loneliness, death, and hopelessness in a mature way. They also have an element of romance between a main character who is somewhat cold due to past experiences and a person who is restricted from the outside world and all human contact. Like Yuu, a prisoner on death row, Joon Go is relegated to his apartment due to his untimely death and unfortunate circumstance of being a ghost. Through interacting and growing closer to these isolated individuals, the main characters learn to be authentic with themselves and others.

Both are short, intense, dark, psychological, and have a main and female, that stick together.

Futari no Renai Shoka is a fairly short read. It is such a beautiful way of portraying love. It has a great ideology of accepting who you are and that your hobbies and interests are what makes you the person you set out to be. I took this mindset on going into Watshitachi no Shiawase na Jikan and it really opened my eyes to forgiving people and accepting others for who they are too. A truly inspirational story that I highly recommend if you enjoyed this one. Enjoy !

In both the stories lovers are separated by death. Both stories are moving and tear-jerkers but still bring out the message- Cherish life.
reportRecommended by mangareader123
These manga are both very dismal slice-of-lifes with endings that verge more on the precariously reassuring than happy. The feature characters are all dysfunctional (in a "something terrible happened to me in the past" kind of way) and just trying to get by in the world. I would chalk both of these comics up to manga versions of Grave of the Fireflies: the best mangas that you never want to read again.

Great Story, Amazing Characters and debatable artwork

To you, the immortal will also make you gain trust and love the well written characters in the story and will definitely make you cry

I have an affinity for beautifully tragic anime/manga, and I believe that the reason why I liked Watashitachi so much is because it gave me the same vibe as that of Hotarubi. After each anime, I was rendered rather speechless and mute or the next two weeks or so as I ponder over the short taste of heaven and hell contained in these small packages. In both stories, two unlikely characters stumble upon each other and, before even falling in love, already knew that someday, the two of them will be parted. Thus began the journey to make every meeting count, since they can't met  read more

Both manga feature female protagonists who are struggling with the difficulties in their lives. In both manga, the lives of these female protagonists change after meeting certain men, who have an impact in the way they see the world. Overall, both have similar moods and many emotional moments.
reportRecommended by BohemianRhapsody
In both manga, the main protagonists are young girls with suicidal tendencies, whose lives change after meeting another man. Both are short and bittersweet stories, which create a similar mood and try to evoke feelings from the reader.

I feel that Haru no Noroi and Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan both ride on the themes of tragedy, regret and (of course) romance. Both tell a sad tale of people seeking a purpose/a reason to live on. I absolutely love these works and I definitely cried (a lot) to both, Lol.
reportRecommended by B055AN0VA
The main protagonists of these two series are similar in the sense that both of them don't like each other in the start of the series and are strangers who met in some unforeseen circumstances. The two manga are not very long and the art style are quite similar. Originality of the two stories cannot be ignored.
reportRecommended by BroDa2545
- Very similar artstyle - About death and its acceptance - Both short, readable in one sitting
reportRecommended by Tsunamii_
These are both romances. Both stories have depressing themes and even more depressing main characters. The premises for both stories seem weird but also extremely realistic.
reportRecommended by IDK_No
Though not as emotionally pressing as Shiawase na Jikan, Koe no Katachi has some great moments dealing with depression in a realistic way, that in a way raises awareness. Both of these stories are very emotionally heavy and will both make you cry.
reportRecommended by ZackWatchAnime2
Overall both stories have nothing in common. But the theme of crimes and redemption reminds me a little of the atmosphere of this manga, especially in the last arc of the story.
reportRecommended by choimochi
I cannot reveal much without spoiling Usemono, but suffice to say, that at their core, both stories about love, life, death..... and the ones left behind. If you enjoy reading emotional stories, then I'd highly recommend this manga to you.

both manga are short and depict love stories
reportRecommended by Dorazaemon
Both are short, beautiful, emotional, and depressing manga which create similar atmospheres and convey similar feelings to the reader. Both have main characters who come from dysfunctional families and end up in difficult situations.
reportRecommended by BohemianRhapsody
Drawn by the same artist, both these manga deal with the theme of young love, that's impossible to attain. Both are also short reads.
reportRecommended by -Sonal-
Both mangas are beautiful sad love stories. In both stories the love develops through time spend with the other person.

Both are tragic love stories based off of novels that will make you cry

The pivotal characters in Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan's struggles and growth as they help each other cope with problems at hand is very much similar to the relationship of Kira and Rei in Mars as they support and love each other. The problems featured in both mangas take on a more darker note rather than usual "gorgeous ex-girlfriend" or "persistent best friend" cliches. They also offer a realistic and layered glimpses into the complexities of the characters. Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan is a shorter manga compared to Mars, but it is still well developed and despite its short length, the mangaka, Yumeko  read more

Both of these manga have similar feelings to them. In both stories the characters are searching for meaning and have gone through psychological trauma or have been hurt in some way. They both show the need for companionship and show the healing that the main characters bring to each other. They are both very touching(practically life changing for Our Happy Hours) stories and have beautiful art.
reportRecommended by kenzie
It's my first recomendation, but I couldn't avoid it. Hana no namae makes me remember of Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan so badly. The main story is pretty different, but both have that kind of "dark aura" that wraps around you and is really deep, the characters are very complex and well developed during the story. I can't describe very well with words but both have amazing stories and if you read one and liked it, you must read the other.
reportRecommended by Tatynhaa23
They both have a male character who is on death row, but we find out that's he's not really a bad guy. life just happened. They both have some romance and are extremely good.
reportRecommended by Ardnaed
These mangas have absolutely nothing in common in terms of characters, story plot or art... BUT both are perfect examples of what drama in real life is. Both of them will make you cry at the end and think of life from a positive perspective at the same time.
reportRecommended by kickoffkid
Despite having different settings and plot events, both are heartbreaking masterpieces about short-lived happiness and a love that cannot be realized due to a harsh twist of fate. Be sure to prepare loads of tissues, buckets of tears are most likely to fall.
reportRecommended by gumdrophop
Both talks about peaple in the verge of death , anyway I recommed reading (( Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan )) even if you dont like Ikigami
reportRecommended by safena_ken
Both manga are adaptions from an original story. Tom Sawyer is not a direct adaption, but it still share similarities with Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan for being a quick, light and very emotional read. Both could also be considered as coming of age.
reportRecommended by Wilio
Both of these drama/romance shoujo have similar overtones. Both have very real stories and romance and are great reads.
reportRecommended by RebbieChan
If you enjoyed Tomoyo After's ending then you should definitely go read WnSnJ. It does a much better job with its ending imo and characters are more believable than the ones in Tomoyo After. Conversely, if you found WnSnJ too serious and would have enjoyed something with more comedy in it, then Tomoyo After would be a safe pick.
reportRecommended by Dashiawia
The art is very similar, in their own unique and distinct way. Similar feel as well. In both works the male character is inhibited by their own problems, but helps the female character to overcome hers. Both are dark and include morals about life.
reportRecommended by falafelwaffle
Both are incredibly somber and bittersweet romance stories that deal with love, although they do it in very different ways. Magi no Okurimono uses the supernatural slightly to aid it in its story, but is ultimately less melodramatic than Shiawase na Jikan (not to say that it's bad, of course). If you liked the tone of Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan, you would do good to read Magi no Okurimono. The length is about the same, as well, and the mangaka can also pack a moving story in its volume.
reportRecommended by SNaG21
They both are tragic love stories.

Both star women who try to overcome the trauma from earlier in their lives through contact with other damaged people.
reportRecommended by darkmac
Both are very dark and incites emotional responses from the viewers.
reportRecommended by Rance-sama
First off: both are very, very sad stories. They contain a man who has (in a way) given up on living since, because of circumstances, it does not allow him to live it fully. All of a sudden, a young woman named "Juri" (yes, in both of the stories) comes into their lives unexpectedly, and the young man can find no other thought than: "I want to live". The young women with troubled pasts then learn from the men, and then begin at a second chance at life...
reportRecommended by tlne
Both manga have different settings and types of characters, but it's about two people who fall in love, but know that one day, death might come for the guy, so they try to stay by each other, with each other as their reason to live.
reportRecommended by angelabsun
Both have characters looking for a reason to live. The piano and Christianity play a major role in both stories.

Although CUT is a yaoi manga and Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan is a straight one, these two mangas are quite similair. In both stories, two people with opposite problems meet and quite unintentionally help eachother through their problems, while they start to fall in love with eachother. However, if you read CUT first, Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan has unlike CUT a very sad ending, so keep that in mind if you would like to read it.
