So recently, well for like the last month, I have gotten into this groove of slice of life, drama, and romance anime and I kind of want to get away from it. I have watched Chihayafuru, Bokura ga Ita, Hanasaku Iroha, and Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate over the last month and I'm currently watching Kokoro Connect, Honey and Clover and a few others coming out this fall that look good.

So basically I want to watch a real good action/adventure anime to get away from the slice of life genre. Maybe something like Cowboy Bebop or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I recently started Samurai Champloo and i'm loving it and I remembered how good these anime can be.

Some preferences about the anime are that it is under 40 episodes long. It would be awesome if it was from my PTW list, but it doesnt have to be. Also if it could have awesome animation.

Thanks!

Slayers, I didn't see any of the seasons anywhere on your list, but it's entirely an adventure series.

Also, Scrapped Princess is a pretty great fantasy setting adventure with a huge twist about 3/4 of the way through (so try and avoid reading spoilers).

The only decent action/adventure anime I spot on your PTW list are Bounen no Xamdou and Casshern Sins, and neither of those stand out to me as something great. Fate/Zero doesn't really have much adventure, and is surprisingly low on the action as well.

If I were to recommend you something not on your list, I would recommend Black Lagoon, Last Exile, Outlaw Star, Claymore, or Trigun. For movies you might be interested in Princess Mononoke, Porco Rosso, Tekkon Kinkreet, or Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.

Slayers is a little to old for me, want something at least 2000+

Casshern Sins is something I get so many mixed reviews about that I'm not really sure I want to watch it. Last Exile sounds promising. Trigun sounds awesome, definitely going to check that out.

Thanks for all the recs so far

I can second Last Exile, it's a pretty good adventure series and has a great cast. Some hard to get used to ship designs, but other than that it's great. Plus if you end up liking it, it's got a season 2 that just came out recently so you'll have a bit more to watch.

Gonna go with Hunter X Hunter too. In MY opinion, it's on a whole 'nother level than Dgrayman, One Piece, Hitman Reborn etc
