I haven't seen this but Nausicaa definitely has a strong ecological message, and so does Princess Mononoke. In fact a lot of people thought that Mononoke was too preachy and that seems to be the most common complaint for this anime too. I'm not a fan of anime (or any art for that matter) with a political agenda but I might check this series out just for lulz.

Edit: I forgot to mention Pom Poko.

i totally agree with you on this keyword, heavier X)

i wasnt too impressed with arjuna 's graphic style. its nothing compared to miyazaki's movies. however, i think the environmental message of miyazaki's movies are nothing compared the message in Arjuna. I would say Miyazaki's movies are a lot more about contemplating nature and the general relationship it has with mankind, whereas Arjuna deals much more deeply with the issues in our current society.
I found Miyazaki's movies to be a great support for environmental concerns and an amazing demonstration of suggestive animation. But i think it does not come any close to the inspiration Arjuna can provide on societal and environmental matters.

I have yet to see nausicaa because the graphic style kind of turns me off.
I did see mononoke, totoro, chihiro, ponyo, howl and a many more.

I am also a big fan of Ah! My goddess ;) which portrays Belldandy as an amazing exemple of care and awareness for living beings as well as for inanimate objects. it is that kind of deep philosophy that is not found in Miyazaki's movies, whereas being suggested throughout different topics in Arjuna.

I loved this anime and the environmental and spiritual aspects that was portrayed in Arjuna! I wanna see more anime like this and Princess Mononoke.
