| Alright. I couldn't sleep tonight and my brain wouldn't stop thinking. Anyways, I always wondered why the topics that were selected for the polls weren't fun subjects but rather more like survey questions. I think it would be more fun and interesting if the questions were more whacky. You guys have to start thinking outside the box a little =p. I divided the question types into parts: 1. Fantasy Question A question based on fantasy. ex: If you had a super power what would it be? If you were reincarnated as an animal what would you be? 2. Scenario Question A question where you put the user in a scenario and they decide what to do from there. ex: A virus is let loose on the world that turns people into zombies. At the moment there is no cure and the victim population is rapidly increasing. Would you A) Build a panic room and wait it out B) Go hunting for zombies C) Try to search for a cure D) Off yourself 3. Ethical Dilemma / Sadistic Choice Question A question that tests the user's morality and ethical stance. ex: Two buildings are on fire: one building is full of puppies and the other has an old homeless man. You can only save one or the other, which one would you choose? 4. Would you rather Question Basic would you rather do this or that type poll. ex: Would you rather go to the beach or go to the mountains? 5. Research / Survey Question This is the typical question we've been asking so far. ex: How much would you tip a waiter at a restauraunt? Would you ever refuse to pay for a service or return bad food? 6. Survivor Type Poll This is the opposite style of the usual polls. Instead of choosing our favorite option we choose the least favorite option to eliminate that one for next round. Then next round we choose the next least favorite and eliminate it and so forth until there is only one survivor. ex: Best Shounen Anime Week One 1. Bleach 2. Naruto (Most votes) 3. One Piece Week 2 1. Bleach 2. One Piece ... 7. Picture Poll Question A poll where you post pictures of something and users pick according to the picture. Could be something like hottest character or funniest poster or something. Or maybe people can post their pictures and we could decide hot or not. LMAO, jk. 8. Urban Legend / Myth Poll A poll where you list an urban legend or truth and the users decide whether it is True, False, or Plausible. 9. Family Feud If you ever seen the game show family feud, it was based on the concept of surveys and poll results. If you wanted to have some fun with the survey results, you could take it another level and turn it into a contest where people guess what the most common answers were for each question. I could probably think of other types to divide polls into but this should give you a good idea on how to make polls more fun. |

Lots of fun questions you can do with sadistic choice that I learned in my college ethics class. i.e. You and a bunch of other people are stuck in cave that is flooding with water and the only way out is through a small hole. Unfortunately, there is an obese male stuck in that hole and the only way out of there is to blow the obese male up with a stick of dynamite. There is no other way out as the walls are too thick and time is limited. If you do not do this, you and everyone else other than the obese guy will surely die. If you do this everyone other than the obese guy will live. Would you A) Blow the guy up (kill the guy) and save the party or B) Do nothing and let everyone else die Or also the famous one they said in hunter x hunter where the choice was whether to save your drowning mother or drowning significant other. Or also the famous psychological one (Heinz dilemma) where there is an extremely overpriced drug that could save your loved one's life but you cannot afford it so the only way you could get it is by stealing it. Would it be morally correct to steal the drug and save your loved one's life or obey the law and let your loved one die. I could think of a million more but not sure if anyone else digs this kind of thing besides Toa and me =p. edit: oh and the last good one i thought up was the cannibalism one. It was the Donner Party that had to resort to cannibalism to survive being stranded in the mountains. If you were stranded in the mountains with no food and starving to death and the only way to survive is to eat the carcasses of your fellow travelers would you do it? |

| Since there are so many consecutive best opening polls it would be fitting to have some best ending ones I suppose... perhaps inbetween each other to give time for more choices... |

| Since you're doing a lot of anime song polls, why not a little twist? Best instrumental OP or ED? If you did something bad, which anime character with their weapon would you like come after you? Ex. Shana with her sword, Mikuru Asahina with her beam, Kannu Unchou with spear (?),Jo (Bakuten) Revy or Motoko Kusanagi with their guns, Dokuro-chan with...eh, you get the idea, right? Are you the type to finish a (completed not ongoing) series even if it doesn't seem to be interesting yet or would you drop it? Do you make up an alternative ending to some of the series you've seen? Which one? Ex.Cowboy Bebop, KimiNozo, Paradise Kiss Do you prefer watching a completed show or an ongoing (airing) one? |

| If you're going to do character vs. character, you should make it tournament style. Open a first poll to allow people to nominate and second characters to compete, and then have polls where everyone votes on which character wins that particular round, with compelling arguments to back up their ideas. If you need help, I'm willing to chip in to keep track of things, as I think it'd be a fun semi-competition to have. As far as poll ideas: I'm really for a best studio poll, ie: Ghibli, Bones, Madhouse, 4C, Gainax, Kyoto Animation..etc...there's alot of them out there. You could also do a poll to best anime/game composer, ie: Kanno, Kajiura, Nobuo Uematsu |
