I'd say I got interested in Anime through really.....just unavoidable circumstances. I've always been one of those kids who has been obsessed with getting his ideas across through subtle displays of affection or affirmations and when I saw my first anime "My Neighbor Totoro" by Miyazaki, I knew I was hooked. Anime has always captured my fascination through its mix of straight out humor or action, with the coupled acts of subtleness that are so engrained in Japanese society. This splashed with amazing styles and palettes of colors across various worlds, realities, and lifestyles only makes the acts of Anime characters easier to appreciate. Technically speaking, I'd say I've watched Anime since I was 6, and read actual manga strips since I was 13. My name is Alex and if you want to talk about anything (I guess anime would be a good place to start), just drop me a line. Also, I'm down for new author/show suggestions, hopefully I can return the favor lol. I'm working on getting more reviews up as well. I genuinely enjoy hearing myself ramble on and on so I'm definitely pushing myself towards putting more up. I have no friends on this damn thing! I'm sort of in the closet about anime to all my other friends and am pretty eager to talk about it. I'm sort of not digging most of the forums on the site. I'm new to all of this stuff, but without physical contact with someone its hard to perceive what they exactly mean by certain comments. There are also alot of people who unjustifiably break you down for off hand comments, it just doesn't seem worth it sometimes. I guess people feel more arrogant behind their computer screens.
