| I'm the kind of person who thinks game adaptations are inherently doomed to fail unless they rewrite everything from scratch a la half of Gungrave, but i think the first season of Sengoku Basara did pretty well for what it had to work with. The basic problem is that video games revolve heavily around gameplay and setting up a reason for more gameplay. And while for some reason a lot of people interpret this as "lots of action scenes", keep in mind that they're going to be incredibly repetitive action scenes because most of the time they were never really set up by the game to be very different in the first place. "This battle is harder than the last one because the enemies are higher level and have more abilities that you have to deal with." |

| I got both seasons + movie on my shelf, but i havent watched them yet. Guess this is as good a time as any! With all the "older" series getting sequels these days (Mushishi, Black Butler, Sengeku Basara, Haruhi) why not throw Spice and Wolf and FMP, perhaps Bacanno into the mix??? |
