due to the fact that there was the "continue? yes/no" and the fact that they need to collect 8 more chips, i think i have enough reason to believe there will be anoter season. but from what i hear there isn't enough manga released yet? so it might take a while...
Why would they need 8 more when they only need 8 to get a helicopter to come, remember they plan to hijack the Helicopter when it shows up.

im with you they could end it with them hijacking the helicopter but that's just not as fun.
most likely they failed to hijack it and maybe start over with no chips!

everyone is saying that they think there will be a second season but this wouldnt be the first time they left an anime off on a cliffhanger. look at deadman wonderland, or even better, air gear and gantz. they left off with over 4/5 of the manga left to go. this could be another one where its almost a promotion for the manga in the sense that the anime is good but only scratches the surface and you have to read the manga for the rest. i dont know if id be opposed to that with this one but i think i would rather have an anime just because the characters are portrayed so well on the anime that its better than the manga. hoping for a second season but until then ill probably just read the manga.

I'll stop watching animes if this show doesn't get a second season. It reminds me of Battle Royale, I love it.

it sold like 300 copies per volume, with madhouse going bankrupt i think the chances of this ever getting a season 2 are about on par with john lennon, freddie mercury, and tony sly rising from the dead and doing a personal concert tin my bakyard

I hate when they do this...

they make you attracted to the anime, wanting more and more hoping that the characters live happily ever after then come the last episode and you're left with a major cliff hanger. It literally tears your heart apart.

If they don't make a season 2 I'm going to go insane (not really)

edit: if I knew this anime wasn't selling good in japan I wouldn't of watched it at all. -.-

well on a whim I figured I'd look into this ,since I loved the anime. According to persons on this forum which have stated that the previous 12 episodes was a culmination of 50 chapters...it's not looking too good.. according to this site ( listed @ bottom)...they are only up to ch 57. So they have only made 7 chapters since the anime :(..but it looks like after they took a break in January they've been putting up 2 chapters per month. At that rate it will prob be another 2 years before production even begins. IMO of course.
current chapters are as follows along with publishing date
57 Rescue May 4, 2013
56 Naked Queen Apr 28, 2013
55 Chaos Apr 18, 2013
54 Conspiracy Mar 14, 2013

Those are scanlated chapters and dates when they released them (illegally). 63 chapters are in fact published in Japan monthly on a regular schedule.

Sales were poor so I will be shocked pleasantly but really shocked if they make season 2.

When I watched the last episode and I noticed that there are only 3 minutes left, at that time only thing running on my mind was "Leeeeeet me guess, this won't be the eeeeend? Ooookay...". I literally thought it was going to be because they built it as such and if you would've added extra 10 minutes (or better yet one more episode), you could have wrapped up everything, pretty poorly, but still. I wasn't expecting much. After all, I'll rather take a shitty ending than no ending at all.

I would like to see this getting a second season, but it won't probably ever happen and if it does, we all have moved on by then and we won't care anymore.

I'm reading the manga and I care what happens! Even if it doesn't get a second season I must know how it ends!!! It has been good so far but I don't know if they could write enough for a second season anyways so it would be good if they could do an OVA or two to wrap things up. At this rate I can't see them writing another 40-50 chapters for a season worth unless they change things up.

Yah i liked BTOOOM! alot also. Its on crunchyroll so the sales cant be that bad, they usually only have top animes on that site(popular ones). Only thing i never really got was the rape scenes...why would her friends send her and not the ones that raped them...i never got that. I mean they acted like she shoulda stayed and got raped with them instead of run, its like the only thing i didnt get pretty much.

First, Crunchyroll offers to stream ANYTHING! Yes, anything. They even streamed the Lychee Light Club ... ugh. So them streaming it is no sign of quality and since they sign BEFORE the season it is no sign of popularity either. They hope to get the highest quality, most popular anime but it is luck of the draw as they basically take what doesn't get signed elsewhere or nowhere.

Next, this is going back many episodes but I refer to the manga for the rape scene. The manga is more detailed, I will have to go back and watch the anime again to see if it was all said and if the subs missed something but Miho blamed Himiko because they went with that guy by HER invitation. They were excited to go see the band but they only went because they knew Himiko and invited her and she asked if she could bring her friends along and of course they said sure! The guys were all arrested for the rapes so as far as Miho was concerned, Himiko is the one who got off without punishment. If Himiko had stayed and tried to help Miho then she likely would have been raped too but Miho would have felt that she tried her best to help her - as it was, she saw it as Himiko's fault that Miho was raped and she wanted to get her back for it so she nominated her to 'disappear' and so she was sent on BTOOOM!

On the island she thought she was going to get what was coming to her but she ended up killing the fat slob instead. Then she started getting over her fear of men and eventually saved Ryota and then offered to die for him so I think Himiko got full redemption in the series.

I know it is a common trope but I really like Himiko's character and her development. Not over yet, the manga continues and so does Ryota and Himiko's attempt to get off the island and home together.

So, 1 and 1/2 year before 2nd season? (Cause Madhouse is a mad studio which just make second season even though sales are poor, I read?)

Anyway, did anybody see the 'credit 0' on the continue part? That looked like some kind of clue, which I don't really like.

If they make it, big if, then 2.5 years and yes, I agree that the "Credit: 0" seems to indicate that there is no money in it so there will be no season 2. But you never know...

No sales = its not going to happen.

Adult themed anime with no guns involving tons of melodrama arent popular.

Still loved the show.

Especially because Himiko's Art was fucking amazing.

it's likely that we wouldn't get a second season, the sales was terrible. as usual, no sales = no money = no sequel,
and IIRC, they don't have enough material to make a sequel

I think it's enough for an OVA .

There is enough for a few episodes now but not a season by far and I don't know with the story where it is now in chapter 64 that it can go for another 36 chapters which they'd need for the same amount of material that they had in season 1. I just don't know that the story can go on that long without feeling like it is on repeat. I am expecting a conclusion soon unless ...

I think it will. They ended it pretty well and are definitely setting up a "second half of adventure".

I know this isn't really the point of the thread, but I'd like to ask you since you've read the manga: did the anime do anything different than the manga, or did it follow the manga closely?

i read the manga and i saw the anime censored a few things like the kid that is 14 years old raping a dead women in thebpark.... they followed the story realy good but censored allod of the gore that was in the manga

Himiko's friends getting r'd by the band is obviously censored in the anime as well, the manga shows a surprising amount I thought for a mainstream seinen magazine.

And Himiko's oppai... you must 'read' the manga to appreciate them properly...

If they do season 2, the gore is going to be censored heavily. There is lots of gore coming up... on one of the last Blurays there are two short BTOOOM! death reels of everyone who died in the season and they will definitely need new ones if they make season two, the body count is rising.

it's likely that we wouldn't get a second season, the sales was terrible. as usual, no sales = no money = no sequel,
and IIRC, they don't have enough material to make a sequel

Hm you are rite about it. but still even knowing MadHouse Studios there wont be any second season of the awesomness of BTOOOM!. Like how there is no second season of Deadman Wonderland. As well for High school of the dead, like three years after the first season was originally aired. Nobody should be forced to wait that long. The only show they ever finished was Death Note.

I really like manga turned anime, although I do feel a little spoiled. Anime based on manga in my opinion are solely to sell you on the manga, and entice you to read it. However anime is high quality sound, imagery, and even coloured, but I'd much rather prefer manga. Preferring manga simple because it's more stable and you can pretty much create the voices of the characters (which I love because you can relate them to anyone's voice) and because you get to imagine more (especially if you have a explicit imagination, making the death Cry's, and etc more realistic). That's just my opinion though, and no no doubt I would drop the manga in a heartbeat to see season 2 (and than resume reading the manga).

this anime was awesome to me, i kinda like those kind of survival games, they're so exciting for me
i watched mirai nikki and sao but this anime was so much better for me than those two, it keeped me excited all the time to the point i was feeling euphoric during watching it.
of course watched all as a whole.

would love to see second season but well, i'm satisfied with this anime enough as it is even if there wouldn't be second season to it (and dissapointing second season isn't what i'd like to see, but i'd watch it anyway.)

overall loved it.
probably will read manga aswell.

Madhouse just animates what they're paid to animate. They made Chihayafuru 2 so the silliness about Madhouse not doing sequels is flat out wrong. Please stop repeating it.

The manga is awesome so please buy it. In a few years there will be enough material for a second season and if they feel the anime is a good ad for the manga they just might make another one. Unlikely but still possible...

Probably will be a Season 2. The BTOOOM! manga is still continuing, so I don't see a reason why there won't be except from sales.
