Yeah but thats my point is they should of expanded upon the series more. People argue the fact that S3 actually is a fine adaption of the novels. But regardless what ever happens between S2 and S3 was poorly developed. In S3 you get the intention that the author just throws all these new characters at you and in away it explores the most vast universe of shana and the many more flame haze are introduced, where as season S1 and S2 primarily focused on just a few of the main characters.

I have no gripes with the animation as well but what made the series suffer is the "story progression" it seemed like S3 was just crammed into your brain all at once. Had they made a previous season that explained more bout the other flame haze's and developed the characters more per say like in season 1 and 2, season 3 would of been amazing. Because it lacked that type of development, you really couldn't find your self getting attached to the new characters introduced in season 3 and some of the new concepts behind the shana universe were not fully explained, and imo that is what really killed the experience for me personally.

The studio should of produced another season and then maybe season 4 would be the finale. Or they could of done a better job exploring season 4 but you saw how much content that had to cover, i mean it was hard to really take the time to develop all the new denizens and flame haze's their was just way to many characters and the plot had to keep on moving. It kind of reminds me how they took like 14 volumes of the manga of inuyasha and cram packed it into the last 26 episodes. But in the case of inuyasha is a much more generic story and alot of one dimensional characters so they managed to pull it off. But shana has a far more sophisticated story and characters then inuyasha does.

Bottom line is they ended up having to rush and compact everything into season 3 to get it finished.

That sounds like something similar to 12 kingdoms novels or Seirei no Moribito. It really has my interest. Don't want to talk to much bout it though, i want to be surprised. Hopefully their is alot of nice plot twists and good character developing in the series and manga.

When it comes down to watching anime, thats mainly the two things i watch anime for the character building and the core story. I guess you can say sound would probably be third, but its also important to depict good sound tracks, so when they show a dramatic moment or action, it sets the mood of the series especially during emotional parts. Animation is probably last for me. I could watch something that does not have eye candy, it could be something very classical, but as long as an interesting setting, world, building of characters and great focused story, then it will entertain me.

Btw i wanted to comment on your list, that CSS design is amazing, where did you get that code at, or did you create it your self. I would love to use that CSS template. lol

and what did you think of the last season of shana 3, man a total dissapointment huh. If i had to pick, i would probably say my most favorite moment in that entire season is when yugi comes off the train in the like 2nd episode, but that show felt like it rushed to the max, it lacked so much detail on character devooping and the setting and world of the story. Its a shame because i was a huge fan of shana But S3 just killed my experience.

Yeah at first glance, it kind of gives you the impression that its like shaman king, a shonen aimed for a younger audience. Especially that the main characters are like only 10 years old, well alladin is. But its far from it, after watching the 4 episodes, some of the more prominent theme's are slavery, the Arabian Knights, sexual references, and even politics are involved, so yeah it really it seems like a show that i really enjoy and its not really a children's anime.

I like how you said it gets darker, that intrigues me for sure. I can't wait to see how it progresses and how the characters are developed. So far in the 4 episodes i feel like watched like 13 episodes of character developing and plot. I mean for a series to really showcase that much of a sophisticated story and great characterization with in 4 episodes is just fantastic imo.

So far its just got me hooked with its incredible attention to detail.

SO, you read the manga up to chapter 160. Yeah im taking bout Magi. I to am very intersted in this series, i just started reading the manga and watched 4 episodes of the anime. But i kind of wanted to hear your insight on the manga, what makes it so great. With out spoiling anything at all, you think you can kind of summarize its qualities.

Like for example One piece has phenomenal characterization, great backstories, and amazing attention to detail when it comes to tieing up past and present events together, etc.

I hope magi becomes like the replacement for naruto lol, its turning out be one awesome show and only 4 episodes in. Its rare that i get hooked on a shonen that early.

Lolol Shining Hearts was an RPG for PSP... not a visual novel |D

...Although, from the content in the anime... you wouldn't be able to guess that (no action; slow... lots of talking).

InfiniteRufus | 05-18-12, 12:52 PM
Wasn't Shining Hearts based off an RPG game rather than a Light Novel?
