Lelouch is alive.... or dead. This is an open ending regardless of what the creators said.

Jeremiah is dedicated to Lelouch, yet when Zero (Suzaku) attacks, he orders a cease fire, and says "onwards masked knight." No explanation for this.

Why would C2 have a crane? Nunally made one for Lulu.

Lelouch, a ridiculously selfish character killing himself to save the world seems way out of character.

Why would it be necessary for Suzaku to fake his death?

C2: "My wish is to die. To end my existence in all worlds forever. In the final stage of Geass, the user attains the position of the one who granted them power.

Shortly after, Charles was going to Kill CC, and that is when she decided free Lulu, at that point in time CC has no code. So therefore I believe Lelouch attained Code Geass, with the sigil(marking) being the Geass in the right eye. (Why not name it Geass, or Code and Geass)

Even though we can say Lelouch died there are too many things that don't make sense which is why I think the chances are he is alive.

No offense, but your analysis skills could use some work.

Jeremiah is in on the plan.
I'm not 100% sure why she has a crane
Lelouch is a ridiculously manipulative character; he's actually incredibly considerate towards people he cares about, and was influenced by Suzaku's words when he went to beg to protect Nunnally
I'm not sure what you're going on about attaining "Code Geass" and whatnot, but while the possibility of Lelouch having gained the stigma exists, it seems unlikely that anyone would allow his body to go unaccounted for.
Plus, while Lelouch is devious and manipulative, he's not the type to leave avoidable loose ends of holes in any of his plans, and it would be insulting to most of the series and his own character if he himself planned to not die.
Be thankful for the wisdom granted to you.

C.C.'s actions still a bit a strange. She is already looking straight up at the sky, so if Lelouch is dead why look towards the driver while saying his name? Oh well still get's a 10/10 from me.

Personally I think he's dead .The creators said so .The final scene makes it seem up for debate but I doubt the makers thought things would turn out this way .They probably didn't think that so many fans would come up with theories that say he's alive .I guess that's an imperfection in the story.

That ending was sad af, I kinda want to rate this episode 4 because it made me cry but still gonna give it 5 for wrapping this series up in the best possible way, Lelouch deserves to die for all the stuff he did, maybe unintentionally, best ending ever to an anime. This gets a 10 rating from me

This gave me so many feelings. I am deeply satisfied, and I do not regret a moment of watching this. The only thing I regret was pushing back watching this anime due to all of the love it has... I know it isn't a cool thing to hate on things, but yeah, I did that.

What a ride! There definitely was ambiguity in that end. I was just waiting to see if he would reply, but I guess not. T_T'

Considering everything that happened though, it makes perfect sense that he dies. All the sacrifices made and the whole "repentance" thing for Lelouch points to this.

Nonetheless, great series. 8-9ish/10 for me.

Amazing nonetheless, Lelouch's fate was to be expected but his sacrifice was honorable and just for all he did, but in the end he left a world unified for the continued well-being of all.

Just finished it, it was a great series, it wasn't perfect, the ending was great, the only thing that i didn't like about the ending was Suzaku dying, then appearing as Zero without a explication about how he didn't die.

It fucking sucks that Lelouch had to die but at least Nunnally, the one person who he did all of ths for, was finally aware of his true intentions...Just don't ask me why she found out because i have no clue lol.

I was feeling this season at first but from episode 13 and on, it's been one hell of a ride!

This anime so interesting and has so many ironical things. Its too funny: "Orange" is working on an orange farm. Omg I had to laught so much. The most interesting thing is that suzuki survived. Maybe because he had his Geass. Who knows?!

The ending that blew everyone away...

Back in '08, this season was one hell of a roller coaster of feelings and divisiveness. I bet some people probably wanted to give up. Then, comes this ending, to knock everyone's socks off and convince at least 90% of them that this season was still as amazing as the first. Sure, the most everyone on the Black Knights group, and Scheizel got ended up being just, them going to prison and being publicly humiliated during the coronation, but what Lelouch does just, really made him the absolute best guy. Not only did he come up with his most ridiculously elaborate plan ever, but the sheer kindness of it all, and the way he managed to string everyone along, audience included, for this emotional roller coaster for the last three episodes, is just awe inspiring. Also, can everyone please stop talking about that fake clip. Lelouch isn't confirmed dead. The writers, while accepting him as dead, left a few things behind a few episodes ago to have you questioning it all. It was a beautiful ending, and Lelouch is amazing for pulling this off. That's really what this was all about. Also, a lot of the character aftermaths are pretty fitting, like Orange boy in an Orange Farm. The song, Continued Story, really captured the emotions behind how an aftermath of a show like this would be, and seeing these characters finally put this war behind them and become normal citizens, is very endearing. This is coming from the man who last saw Code Geass and it's finale over 10 months ago. What a timeless ending, and what a way, to end off one of the biggest classics ever made.

If Lelouch is dead, how did he transfer his memories to Nunally? This is something you can only do with immortality correct? But then again, don't you have to 'kill yourself' to attain immortality. Lelouch wasn't technically dead when he transferred those memories to her. We never explicitly see Lelouch take the Code from Charles either. There should have been some sort of mark on his body, like how charles had that mark on his hand. Nothing adds up.

The more I look at it, the more I see how people bitch about the plot holes in this anime.

HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SHOW NUNALLY THAT VISION. IT MAKES NO SENSE.

Was in my ptw list for long and finally completed this. Great ride, political strategies, mindgames, a thrill to watch really. Although there are quite a number of asspulls and plotholes(like how that nunally vision at the end), I can't deny that this series was a joy to watch and one of the few anime I could easily marathon.

I thought s1 was a bit better in terms of writing but quite a perfect ending for s2 boosted my score to 9. And I won't go into those theories of lelouch alive or dead becoz it eneded perfectly as he died

I finally finished Code Geass! Oh my gosh, what an amazing Anime

In the beginning i thought that this series is going to be rushed and not quiet interesting. But after a few episodes I have realeased that I am totally wrong. This is - my dear ladies and gentlemen - one of the best Anime I have ever seen!

I felt sooo hurt many many times. Poor Lelouchs, it makes me feel sad when I think back to the beginnen and his whole destiny till the end. Oh boy, he has lost so many friends, lost so many fights (and not only physical), had to bear the whole world by his very own shoulders.

One of the greatest characters ever. One of the best Anime ever. Amazing character develop., freaking awesome story + storytelling with many plots and thrilling cliffhangers, absolut hearttouching soundtracks and a heartbreaking final.

I wish I could rewatch it right now! Without any knowledge...

There's no need for a season three, but they might make something else once again.

It's a popular anime with controversial contents (in the most flexible sense of the word, not necessarily the most "intellectual" one), so obviously you'll have a variety of opinions. Some love it, some hate it. That's always been the case.

Easily One of the Best Anime Endings Ever.

a lot of plot twists, a lot of plot holes, but man this show was an entertaining clusterfuck.
after seeing R1 and how disappointing it was i didn't think i would enjoy R2 this much.

at the end, i didn't even care if Ohgi lived or died, that's how good the ending was lmao

Sacrifices are meaningless if characters do not have to bare the consequences of their chosen actions. For the sake of this series, lelouch should stay dead. It should also be common sense the Lelouch is dead. After lelouch was stabbed in front of everyone, his forces ran away and disappeared. I'm pretty sure someone was smart enough to confirm his death. Enspecially since an enemy like Princess Cornelia was on the scene.

Also take notes of Lelouch's famous words. "the only ones who should kill, are those who are prepared to be killed". By faking his own death despite taking the lifes of thousands, he would be making a mockery of everything he stands for. Not something Lelouch would do.

The only part that really got me thinking is the origin of the Geass..Charles word and the God that get controlled by Lelouch...ecc
also..Charles' brother gave him the Geass? If someone could clarify my ideas on this characters would be appreciated :D
