Damn that Gato is some low-life piece of shit, killing a good man like that, just to show off who's the richest/powerful man in the region among the villagers. It was really a sad episode and this episode alone proves that this isn't a show just "for kids". Really moving stuff it had and if it was a children's anime it would be joyful everytime with no cruesome bloody scenes, sad background stories and other drama.

His dog leaving him like that wasn't realistic at all. Dogs are one of the few creatures in the world which won't abandon you whatever you do, but well, because of that he met Kaiza... which also led his depression. It's all because of the dog! :P

Kaiza...

This episode really hit my soft spot. It's been a while, so this is kind of refreshing.

"Hero"... that word means a little too much for me. Kaiza's quote was so simple, yet so deep. Perhaps it was the actions behind the words, the personality/charisma of the man, or even that final smile.

I hope those bastards get what's coming to them, 100 fold.

5/5

the unrealistic part was a dog being unable to swim

That flashback was very sad.

I think it's great that we've gotten to see into the personalities and backgrounds of non-main characters. Sakura is calm and focused, Inari is depressed, and the bridge-builer is determined and caring.

Also, we now know the history of their village and have seen that they are so poor. I wish sakura had said something to Naruto & Sasuke when they were eating food so greedily, if they had known the village's poverty and the amount of homeless people they might have thought about considering themselves lucky and only eating what they need.

Great episode. I have to say that since last episode, I am enjoying this series a whole lot more. Time to bump up the rating I gave this to 10.

The story between Inari and Kaiza made me feel sad, then happy, and then depressed all in the span of about 6-7 mins. Such a great little background story!

You could really tell the story motivated Naruto to want to try even harder just to prove to Inari that the world might not be so evil !

amazing episode <3

Well, not an action-packed episode, that's for sure.
I nearly cried when that girl asked Sakura for food...
And then there is that story about Kaiza and Inari... Dem feels.

But it seems the action will return in the next episode XD

Wow, their village is really poor :/
Awww, how can I reject a little girl like that?? I will definitely give her food and money ;_;
Come on, Naruto. Sasuke just wants some Sakura tips ahahaha.
Man, what the hell is wrong with those 3?? Shooting Star (Yes, I prefer that name more), leaving Inari like that made me laugh instead ahahaha.
Kaiza is the man T^T I hope someone will fuck Gatoh up!!
You go, Naruto!!

5:54... that's why i'm saying.. Sakura is a good person with a good heart. Moreover, she is an honest girl.
The only problem in her for which everyone dislikes her is she kinda have SasukeoPhobia for which she cares less to her Surroundings.

The story of the hero struck me to the very heart. A very touching and sad episode.
And I just fell in love with Naruto here. When he listened to the story of the boy and his named dad, he looked so real. His kindness, participation and attention were read in his eyes...

I've been enjoying this show from the start, but now things are starting to shape up in a much more compelling way.

The training aspect being doubled down on with the first section of this episode is extremely welcomed. Always love when this is an actual key factor in the character development and not just an afterthought. Obviously, the very first few episodes were all about training, but it really is nice knowing it's not a one-off thing. Hope that holds true as the series goes on.

The amount of lore we get for Inari and the Land of Waves is just great, and something I definitely wanted to see. This new locale was already considerably different due to its lack of shinobi, but it's something that makes a lot more sense/feels more justified given what we know about Gato now. He's a mob boss with an ego, and honestly a great first major antagonist for Naruto and the gang.

Really good episode!
