It'd be nice to see a list of anime I haven't seen when looking for new anime/manga.

Pardon replying to a very old thread, but I support this suggestion.
Could you consider adding the feature where we can search anime/manga that isnt part of our anime/manga list

After searching the database, you can simply check if you have the "Add" or "Edit" option next to the anime/manga/novel title. If there is an "Add" option, you don't have it on your list. If there is "Edit", you have it. Furthermore, the Add option is blue while Edit is grey, so it's quite easy to pinpoint your current relation to various series.

I have nearly 1500 anime in mylist and it becomes very hectic to pinpoint what I have watched or not.

I don't see what the issue is. Even though you have 1500 series completed, you still remember for the majority if you've seen them or not, correct? Well, you do not need to remember exactly, only around-around so you know if it's worth searching their keywords in the database or not. After doing so, everything is displayed - you can instantly see whether you have any specific entry on your list or not. Can you share an example where the current system shows to be inefficient or possibly brings any drawbacks? I would also like to add that the "Add" and "Edit" options are present through almost entire website where the series' hyperlinked title is displayed.

Agree with your point when I search using a keyword.
Lets take this example:
I want to watch some new anime and I go to advance search option and sort it by "rating", now if I want to navigate through the list to find some 20 to 30 anime I will have to go through like 40 to 50 pages because of the amount of anime I have already watched.
I agree it wont really take a long time to fetch in the details I want, but I dont see why MAL cant implement this feature.

Yes, I see what you mean. Yet, I believe the "Edit" and "Add" method might just prove to be quite fast and swift, that is when combined with search-up navigation. After accessing this page here if you want to pinpoint the MAL's top rated series, there are 30 entries displayed per page. If you want to find those who you don't have on your list, simply use the Control + F command and input the word "Add". If you use Firefox or Google Chrome, keep on clicking the forward/down arrow until you arrive to the highlight you were on on the start (both browsers display the number of results on that page anyway). After finding them all, move onto the next page.

40 to 50 pages indeed sounds quite a lot, though. I never thought of the numbers that big before because I'm nowhere near having as much series set on my lists. In the end, I see no harm in including an extra option in the Advanced Search to include or exclude the series you already have on your list at the time of searching. You've convinced me - I approve the idea.

Subpyro, instead of arguing, you'd better just advice this in the first place: http://userscripts-mirror.org/scripts/show/45199, http://userscripts-mirror.org/scripts/show/43402, http://test.animeadvice.me/
Problem solved

Right. Forgot about that, do excuse me. Lesson learned: we should totally have the list of all the userscripts made displayed somewhere where as many users surfing would see it. Oh dear, why that's just that. We could make a sticky thread here at the Suggestions forum board with the list of all helpful userscripts to prevent possible suggestions that can already be by-passed and executed with the use of those. Now we only need the staff's agreement.

Mahadev_Shiki, sorry, I gave link to the old version of the script. Here's an updated and improved version: http://userscripts-mirror.org/scripts/show/164470
And not exactly connected to the topic, but here's a list of some useful userscripts, highly recommended: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=49347
Please note that you should change links from http://userscripts.org to http://userscripts-mirror.org for them to work

I found the code, ill probably paste it in a new custom script later.

Btw, found a bunch of other scripts by the same person. A lot of them are related to MAL

Yeah, they have made quite a lot of them. Useful ones, too. My personal favorite is the option to delete your entire inbox and outbox without having to delete each message separately. It's quite a swift tool on a long run.

That's because I haven't updated that userscript since userscirpts.org was down. It should be installable now:

Let me know should you encounter other problems.

Thanks a lot zanetu, for creating a lot of scripts. They really help.
The new script works perfectly for me.
