I'm not sure I get the point of this... how much money goes to the mangaka and how much goes to the website? Do they only have official scanlations? If so why wouldn't I just buy the physical copy?

I must be missing something.

my thoughts exactly.

not only that, but they have the worst model out there in my opinion, point based stuff always seems to be the bane of their users, should have gone with a normal flat monthly rate (with a discount for buying more months in advance) like most places do.

I would use that service if there was actually something I really wanted to read from there.

The site looks horrible, I aint gonna pay for that, free/illegal alternatives have a better and a more organised site.
That's what I thought when I went on it. I don't want to pay to use an ugly site.

I looked at it when it first opened still not interested. I'd rather pay for print material it lasts longer plus I can read it whenever I want to without worrying about internet connection.

Junky site confusing point system. They should have made it similar to Crunchyroll where you can read all you want for a month~a year.

So I'm sticking to my scans sites and buying manga from the store.

The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

My thoughts exactly.
If I want to PAY for manga - I buy a tangible copy. Why would I pay for something I can get for free? No incentive.

Reading manga online takes off better if it ships off occasional free stuff, similar to what shonen jump alpha is doing and still giving out yugioh cards in its subscription(which sometimes, the yugioh card in the issue itself is worth more than the actual issue).
If your going to complain that Yu-Gi-Oh! Mangas are on the top NY times manga best sellers, you must not realize how popular Card games are(as well as the fact that you get a free card).

Ehhh. Someone explain. How much does one point get you and what is its equivalent in money.

Basically 100 points is $1

If you sign up now for $10 you get 1,000 points plus 500 points as a bonus.

It looks like they are having some sort of sale since I checked a couple titles and each volume is 499 points. If you get the $10 plan you can buy 2 volumes of any manga.

The points is how you pay for the manga... You buy points, and then redeem points on the titles you want.

I'm not sure if you guys know this but the majority of uploaded manga they have hasn't been scanned yet so you guys can only read most of those only on that site because it isn't available anywhere else

I just tried to read some previews (at least 20) on the site and not one of them was available for my region. What's the point in making the site accessible worldwide if the titles aren't?

I very much prefer buying the physical copies than digital. The fact that me and my friend are too lazy to buy Awkward Silence from JMANGA, but are so hyped about buying the physical copy from SubLime.

Having the digital copy doesn't seem as valuable as having it in paperback.

I guess that's good news. I mean, I don't find anything that they have interesting, or if I did, I wouldn't pay to read it if I could help it, so this doesn't really apply to me...

But I'm sure this news has made someone's day. ^^V
