Hey guys, I just finished Steins Gate anime and damn it was so good... defiantly anime of the year 2011.

Anyways I'm looking for an anime which have similar kind of intense/mind twist. Animes like Death note, Kaiji, One Outs, Akagi, Liar Game (Drama) and Steins Gate. Genius anime in other words with great twist and intense atmosphere.

I know its very rare to find an anime like that but if there is anime which contains twist/mind blowing/intense gripping/brain shattering storyline please recommend.

Thank you in advance :D

PS: Please dont recommend Spiral or Code Geass seen them and please no mecha :D

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Looks can be deceiving. But they are f*ck twisters.

Also Monster and Baccano are amazing aswell.

Also Neon Genesis Evangelion (NOT THE MOVIES!) The original and best! The end .... oh the god damn ending!

Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica is the latest one I can recommend. One of the best animes ive seen last year with Steins Gate.

Should cover you for a good few weeks or so!

You should try ''Another'' it recently started airing.

It's a mystery/horror/school/drama

might fit you.

Add my vote to:
Monster
Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica
Serial Experiments Lain

also consider:
ChäoS;HEAd
Paranoia Agent

Mirai Nikki - (manga) Though not a thriller... it definately did my head in by the end. Note: the anime is following the manga closely so I can confidently recomend the anime.

For more psychological (less thriller) I've had several people recommend:
Kuuchuu Buranko (also known as Trapeze)

Thanks a lot for the nice recommendation guys :D

Currently I am watching: Another/Durarara!

I've watched: Monster/Higurashi / Neon Geon/ School Days

However I really doubt Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica, from the art I can say it doesnt fit the seinen style :P but hey I might give it a try.

Keep em coming !!

--Can't always go by that. Seinen is more about content. MSMM it is what they call a "deconstruction of a genre/theme." It messes with the "magic girls" the way Evangelion messed with the mecha/robot niche. I couldn't get into it but loads of people really liked it.

Monster, for sure. This thing can freak you out to no end, even when it seems nothing is happening on screen.

What lis said. MSMM is not cutesy, it's not adorable, it's really dark and not the standard magical girl.

If you're concerned that doesn't seem 'seinen', think about the fact that Clannad and Chi's Sweet Home are both considered Seinen. No, seriously, look them up here on MAL. They are seinen.

When i was 12 i had seen an anime movie where a boy and his mother was in a snow storm, his mother was taken away by what i think was human poachers. He gets picked up or something like that by a lady with silver hair, she has a machine that allows her to watch his dreams. Eventually he finds his mother and the man that took her away, she was stuffed and mounted above his fireplace. That's all I can remember I've been trying to find it, if anyone may know what it is please respond.
