You question the criticism of fan service, but then admit that it shows a desperate attempt to hold the audience?

The problem is how blatant and in-your-face it is. There is zero tact employed whatsoever. They're so shameless that they throw fan service in in the middle of serious and/or actiony sequences.

There's a huge difference between Muslim womens' outfits and Inori's. Inori's goes far and beyond simple fan service and into the realm of sex object.

Good point on the lighting though. It DOES tend to be really good.
