| hey darkwap, i've been going through my list trying to find something you might like, here's what i came up with bakuman, not exactly too much emphasis on them being childhood friends, but great romance and great story overall, i think you will enjoy it, also the second season has already begun and it's even better than the first myself; yourself also revolves around childhood friends and romance, it was okay, the story is kind of weird though. honestly that's pretty much all i got for ya :p hard to find one with a childhood friend that isn't a harem |

Plus it has some very well shown side-characters - some of them may appear a bit irritating at first, but than it shows why they are like this and does it well. |
| Can anyone help me? I am trying to remember the name of a show that is similar to bungaku shoujo but it's a 12 episode show or something like that. The guy goes depressed after his loved girl goes into a coma after an accident and is hospitalized for 2 years I recon. The other girl who liked him uses the opportunity to get him. You could also like Kanon (2006) it's also cute but it's a little more dramatic |

Examples of the type of drama I'm looking for would be things like hiking in the mountains and someone gets hurt (sounds cliche I know). Horrible secrets being revealed. Maybe family problems (running away from home, etc). Generally dangerous situations. |

You could also try Gankutsuou, which does have the types of drama that you described, but it's not quite the main focus. Might also check out: Kare Kano Paradise Kiss Natsume Yuujinchou Berserk For manga, anything by Inio Asano would be an excellent romance/drama. The best one of his works to start with is Solanin, since it's rather short and very well done. From there check out Subarashii Sekai, Oyasumi Punpun, and then the rest~ |

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien Myself ; Yourself School Days Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is somewhat like True Tears. Myself ; Yourself has a lot of drama in it. School Days is a sad romance that's pretty dark as it moves along. |

| Looking for a sophisticated romance anime with beautiful and lovely characters that the romance is in the center of the plot or atleast take an importent part of it. i do not mind if it mixed with some other genres, I happen to like Fantasy/Advanture, action and even ecchi or harem animes if they have a good plot. Please.. spare me the animes when the male is a pathetic and useless losser that all the girls fall for him for no reason whatsoever, i had enough of them =) somethick that the male is admirable and he is the one falling for the girl first or the one who is chasing her like : Special A Hakushaku to Yousei and seriously it must be with nice animation i hate animes with eyesore characters it make me want to murder them ;) |

The currently airing Ano Natsu de Matteru is pretty good. Lamune. Nice little romance anime. I liked it a lot. Kimikiss Pure Rouge. Follows more than one couple. Karin. This is a pretty fun anime. Might not really be what you're looking for however. But I'll throw it in anyway. |
