According to Newtype magazine, the second half (episodes 14 - 25) of Fate/Zero will be aired from April - June 2012. There will be a break after episode 13 airs this December. The Blu-rays of the series will be released in two box sets instead of the conventional monthly releases of two three-episode volumes.

Don't see why they split them up into 2 seasons.

Watch it, find out.

I'm gonna wait until it's over anyway...I smell way too many cliffhangers.

They can milk them more. Type-Moons fanbase is about as loyal as they come, so they'll buy it regardless... so why not split it into two seasons so you can sell each episode at a higher price?

Iwakami said the team decided to do this in order to maintain the high quality over the entire course of the anime. Animators need time to make the scenes look as good as they do in Fate/Zero, and doing a straight 6-month airing doesn't allow for that.

No. Selling the anime in 2 BD boxes dosen't even accomplish this. They would probably do a much better job of nickle and dimming fans by releasing the usual 2-episode 6 volumes for both seasons.

Airing episode 14-25 therefore its still from the same show not sequel. Its confusing a lot of users.

So it's not a 2nd season, still the 1st, but they're taking a break half-way?

...This confuses me, but if it's to make the quality better and overall improve the series, then I suppose I can't complain. And it's this spring, so at least that's not too long a wait, I guess.

It could also be because Aniplex doesn't want Fate/zero and Nisemonogatari airing at the same time. Having them running at the same time would likely effect sales in a negative way.

No, I doubt that.

Well if they're trying to maintain the really good quality it has at the moment, then that's probably a good thing. It doesn't seem so long of a wait once you think about it but it's still odd that they're spliting it into two seasons.

WHAT?! I guess it's a good thing I won't be picking it up yet. I'd probably forget what happened during that long of a break.

Pretty sure they're releasing ONE BIG box with ALL the episodes are the end of the second airing.

It's been explained before but they are trying to retain the quality of the anime.

break = time to relax from a seaon of really hard work = time to get more money = quality second half.

I prefer it this way if it means I get an awesome second season.

Good decision imo. Should help them maintain the very high quality of art/animation they have so far, particularly in those big fight scenes that are going to have to top the last each time.

If episodes 4 and 5 are any indication it will be so worth it.
