| Sheryl. Re-watching and currently at episode 5, great episode for Alto and Sheryl. Have always liked Sheryl from the first time I watched MF, despite her attitude in the beginning, because it's quite obvious it wasn't her real personality, well for me anyways. Like others, I'm not liking Ranka, same reason as the others. Also in my own preference of people, I like fun and mature people more so than others. Alto likes to blush time to time in front of Sheryl :P |

That's just gonna over do the cheesiness] This scene got me thinking: "Cant you go to the hospital, stay there for a bit longer get well and dont make people worry about you?" I saw those scenes as a weakness. I know that her getting out of the hospital wasn't really whiny; she was trying to be strong, but i find it stupid regardless. Way too much dramu. Looking at Sheryl past i might be wrong but i think Sheryl is extremely weak. I dislike how she is being all 'i am so poor' [even tho she is!] but i think the cheesiness of all this overdid it. I dont hate Sheryl. I highly dislike Alto.... Cause.. He is stupid. Even if Sheryl needs her- 'omg she is so poor'. I think Ranka has suffered more in this series then Sheryl. Ranka isn't just cute and immature girl. She matures as the series progresses and the pain in her heart makes her selfish. Maybe people will understand why Ranka is not just some moe character when they will be in her shoes them selves. I hate to know that her entire family has died, she has amnesia, she falls for a guy, she keeps seeing that guy with another girl, she realizes she sings only for this guy, when she wants to tell him she misunderstands him choosing Sheryl [being rejected by the one for who you put your dream into and someone u go up to is really painful], she confesses to this guy, then this guy dates Sheryl for real and tells he will kill Ranka. Adding up to that the whole Macross hates her thinking she betrayed everyone and will probably kill her at the very first opportunity. Wow! Ranka you have amazingly fucked up life. Her fate had something bad that compensated all of her popularity. In the end i choose AltoxRanka. But if AltoxSheryl was a must, then i will just wish Alto would die at ep 24, no matter how immature this may sound. Personally, as what everyone said about Sheryl in the anime, she never did change. In fact, true, she became more bitchy and clingy as time went on. And by doing this, Ranka was ALWAYS second-best. I've always shipped Alto with Ranka from the beginning of the series. And hated Sheryl... After watching the movie however, Sheryl became okay in my book. However, I still didn't like her with Alto. If it's a must however, I don't mind at all, I guess. In that movie, the production has finally became equal with the two. BTW, I know Ranka is jail-bait, but even so, she has the same age as Alto (or a year younger), this happens in real-life. Just because she's small and looks so much younger, doesn't mean it's PEDOPHILIA. Please grow a brain. :'/ |

| I really like both girls...Sheryl is a great character, i think i even prefer her personality (and looks) to Ranka´s. Still if we are talking about who Alto loves the most, ill go for Ranka. To me it seemed clear that he loved both girls...but somehow i like to see Ranka x Alto more than Sheryl x Alto. It seems more sweet. My vote goes for Ranka x Alto;D ofc if we could talk about alternative pairings than i would say Sheryl x Ranka because they really had a lesbian moment in the end running to each other with arms open, hugging and Ranka with her face on the boobs of Sheryl. As for Alto, i felt a gay moment between him and his "nii-san" |

| Ranka. I never liked Sheryl at all. And I'm guessing Alto prefers sexier women than Ranka who doesn't have that much of a figure. Aside from appearances, Alto spends a lot of time Sheryl and that really pisses me off. I think Ranka is the most sweetest anime character ever! |
| Well...considering Alto does love Sheryl, why WOULDN'T he spend time with her? And FYI the sweet and naive girls don't always get the guy, people should learn to stop applying shoujo rules too much on Macross series.. |

| SherylxAlto because I think they're cute together =) I absolutely hate Ranka even though it was the second time I watch it...(the first time I watch it, I think I couldn't make it past episode 5?) And I think Ranka feels more like a little sister to Alto...Alto seems like a older brother taking care of his little sister =/ |
