| Good episode, but again the drama is built on such dumb contrivance. Koushirou says they're data and their bodies may be on Earth. Okay, Koushirou being wrong is good since he's often too right about everything. But, then he tells Sora, for NO reason, that they may be data but everything that affects them the same way (making the previous point moot). He doesn't tell everyone else this nor does he express uncertainty or anything like that. No, it's all matter-of-fact. Suddenly it's surprising/annoying for the group that Taichi considers everything a game? Seriously? They don't really know anything as most of Koushiou's talking borders on theorizing (as it should) so that could have been a good way to set in, they may be in a data world, but they are still in their bodies and quite alive. But, to top it off... Taichi crying? Forced. Sora and Taichi are friends, that much is obvious, but they aren't shown (or told to us) to be really close or even close at all. He's crying like Yamato cried over his brother; it's silly how hard they're trying to create shipping hints out of nothing. Sure it's Taichi's "fault" but that's only because of the nonsense above. Nothing about the whole thing feels natural. Lastly, I like that they split the group in different ways so it's not always "x, y, and z" when they split. Taichi and Sora. lol at Taichi messing with Etemon. lol at Taichi kicking Gazimon. Nanomon. Perfect. Etemon. Dat theme. Group shinka. Birdramon got slammed into the wall. Dat betrayal. Nanomon took Sora and Piyomon. SORA!!!!!!!! Sora yells for Taichi. Taichi' scared. They escaped. Taichi's crying. Dat ending. Seeing Taichi cry because he got scared of dying and letting Nanomon take best girl Sora away hurts. |
