Be great to have you along @filifjonkan, how's your holiday, hope you're enjoying the break. I didn't realise there were 2 seasons but as @whiteflame55 said yeah we'll watch both seasons unless we really don't like it. I just finished Nana so thought i'd get a dose of something light.

Episode 1. Ok, I completely see why @inim mentioned the sexualisation of primary children. We have a new primary school teacher who discovers he has 3 twins in his class. One a boisterous masochist called Futaba, one a sadist and little devil, Mitsuba and one a mysterious and dark one called Hitoha, who carries around a book with eroge pages inside. Straight away from the dialogue we see that these are kids talking dirty with the voices of kids, but they're jokes and innuendo that wouldn't make sense to a child. I've seen this kind of disconnect between the content of the dialogue and person delivering it, ie sexual in nature and delivered by children, done well before and it can be very funny. Let's see.

First off the twins decide to try and force their new teacher, Yabe, closer to the school nurse by injuring his crotch, so he'll have an excuse to show her his crotch and their love will be "tied by the nether regions". It was actually quite funny watching the 3 girls go after the teacher, however, what did make me sit up was the fact he acquiesced and ended up getting his dingle out for the nurse, only for her to mistake him for a child due to the fact she wasn't wearing glasses.

Then we get a skit about a hamster Yabe-sensei gets for the class that they call 'nipples', whom Hitoha becomes very attached to. The nurse hears the class talking about stroking nipples and gets the wrong idea.

This could be quite funny.

Episode 1
The cutesy style of this series makes it stand apart from what we've seen so far, you can see how it lends itself to comedy.

That early scene with the thunderstorm outside and the camera flying through a darkened hallway as epic music plays is quite effective at setting the mood for our new teacher Satoshi joining a class that most definitely will not make things easy for him. A relatively innocuous icebreaker game turns into full on war in the middle of the classroom. Yuki's the instigator, though she feels bad about it. Mitsuba is more than happy to rub her face in it. And Hitoha is off in the corner reading (turns out, it's porn - at least two of these girls seem really horny for well-endowed women). These are the Marui sisters, an infamous trio at the school. Yuki seems fired up and personable, if a bit too much. Mitsuba is particularly willing to swing things in her advantage through domineering tactics. Hitoha largely disregards everyone but has a malicious side if they try to take her book. Within short order, both Satoshi and Mitsuba are on the floor bleeding out for entirely different reasons, and Satoshi has to do everyone's homework because he lost his icebreaker game.

So yeah, the sesualization is definitely present and it's made that much more apparent when these girls talk about giving their teacher a chance to "drink up Kuriyama's [their nurse's] sweet nectar", which may have different meaning to them, though they later refer to his crotch as "southern sweets," so I don't think so. More hijinks ensue as they proceed to try to cause him bodily injury. From shoryukens to eight ball corner pockets to rope tricks, they really are putting him through the ringer before he just runs crotch first into the nurse looking for her glasses. This leads to a much more egregious injury as she confuses his pantsless state for a fourth grader. Rough, man, though you probably shouldn't pull your pants down with little girls still in the room.

Then they get a hamster, which they call Nipples, leading to various forms of hilarity as it gets confused for the real things. Groping of both the hamster and each other occurs. Particularly funny to see how the nurse, who is standing outside while they discuss Nipples' overstimulation, responds to a variety of lines that seem built to make it sound as perverted as possible.

It's got potential, even if the humor is low-brow.

Hello and thank you for the warm welcome @23feanor. My vacation has, so far, been very nice. On to Mitsudomoe, then. This is one of the very few series I am about to re-watch. I can't really remember when I saw it last, but every now and then the show comes up in my YT-flow and the jokes are indeed hilarious. It starts off with a bang almost like kids training for an earthquake, and then it goes in to a Battle Royale- mode, very funny.

In Sweden, if you are a child in grade 6, you are 11-12 years old. I don't know allot your countries or how it looks in Japan, either. But the teacher...he didn't look like he was up to the task. The game with switching chairs (probably so the new sensei could learn the names of the children faster) ends in tragic, with blood-shed and I can't really figure out what the sensei saw in the youngest girls book, what do you think of that?

The three sisters are presented, and boy, are they different from each other! This is a fun and light-hearted show, best watched with the brain in off-mode, I think.

@filifjonkan same as the UK, year 6 would be 10-11, I actually thought they were younger, and you make a good point, i don't think the Fruits Basket game would be age appropriate for 10-12 y/o. And by this age kids are aware of sex, even if they can't relate or understand it. I wonder what the Marui parents are like to bring up 3 such perverted girls, and whether we'll meet them. I think Yab-sensei saw something about housewives and the later book image was about nurses, iirc.

Episode 2. I watched this earlier when mal was down. The snot sketch was yucky, reminded me of dealing with a toddler who wipes her nose all over me every day. The urine sketch was pretty damn funny, even if you knew what was coming. @whiteflame55 you picked up on something I forgot to mention, the production values are polished, some sweeping camera motion and nice use of music. Today we had some lovely ominous music playing as Hitoha was walking up the stairs to Yabe-sensei's apartment as he was desperately trying to find nipples the hamster. Hitoha is dangerous, blackmailing her teacher, poor guy.

@filifjonkan Glad to have you onboard for the watch as well, even if it's a re-watch in your case.

Episode 2

Yep, lot of snot in this one. Yuki gets a cold and makes a mess as she contaminates the classroom. Urine samples from a different class turn the nurse's office yellow because klutzes. Hitoha breaks into Satoshi's home to fondle some Nipples and terrifies Satoshi, resulting in her breaking his arm. Mitsuba head trauma... at least 3 times, though she kind of deserves it on the last, before enduring some time hanging from a tree branch for half a day (girl's got some upper arm strength) and getting misidentified as a kindergartener for her taste in panties while Yuki gets some sweet crayfish with frog skins.

Episode 3. First skit is a funny misunderstanding about panties and Hitoha's eroge. We get a couple of boys from the class introduced and one, Satou, thinks the other wants to see pantsu but he actually just wants a glimpse at Hitoha's porn mag. How does she get these eroge novels I wonder?

Second skit is about Hitoha making a new friend, Mitsuoka, who thinks she can see ghosts, when in actual fact she just finds it hard to communicate and comes across as spooky, so a bit like Sawako from Kimi no Todoke. Turns out Mitsuoka is a bit nuts about spirits and we get a night time visit to the pool.

The last story is about missing panties, which the girls think have been stolen but they in fact left them at home. Their dad comes to bring them to school but gets mistaken for a deviant and arrested, but not before Futaba strips the boys in class and Yabe-chi to see if they're wearing them.

This show does make me chuckle.

Thank you @whiteflame55! It is nice to get such a warm welcoming. I will try to do some contribution to the show, even if it is merely an amusing series like this one.

We are introduced to some new people in this episode, a classmate who doesn’t know the name of Hitoha, but calls her ”sanyuo-san”, literally ”third daughter”. Hitoha, on the other hand, remembers the girls name; Mitsuoka. There is, however, a slight difference between the two girls. Mitsuoka has a great interest in the spiritual departement, something we meet in many other series. There are bakemono, yokai and doragon, to name a few. I wonder why Japan has developed so many kinds of spitual beings?

The father arrives, with his daughters forgotten panties in his hands. Like any other normal father, he climbs the wall, to hand the panties over to the girls. I so happen to have two daughters, 39 and 33 years of age now, and I would have done exactly the same as this father. Not!! This show makes me laughing, too.

Is it OK to ask questions to you? Not the personal kind of questions but more about anime-related stuff? Or like when I asked about the age of the girls, in ep 1? It is just straight out hilarious when two of the girls get their punishment!

Enjoy your day!

Episode 3

One of the boys wants Hitoha's eroge, but another boy thinks he's after her panties. Then, Hitoha pulls a Sawako Sadako and scares other children off with her gloomy, scary demeanor and belief that she can talk to ghosts. She meets a horror fan in MItsuoka, which Hitoha mistakes for being really into watching porn. That doesn't last, though. Hitoha almost drowns in a pool where this other girl thinks she's exorcising spirits.

And we get to meet the girl's father, who is running through the streets with his daughters' panties and climbing school walls rather than just going inside. More misunderstandings ensue, dude tears down the wall bare-handed, and gets taken away by the police because Mitsuba can't stand to be associated with him. This leads to Mitsuba and Hitoha being relegated to a shed outside at home for the night.

Yep, some decent comedy here, even if not everything lands.

@filifjonkan You can absolutely ask questions, always happy to turn some of these posts into more of a conversation.

Episode 4. Ok so the class are drawing Yabe-chi and Futaba draws him as a woman with huge tits, and it's not censored in the version I'm watching. I noticed during the ad break in between on an earlier ep that Futbaba held up a picture of a ladies breasts. This show has a PG-13 rating so guessing this was the uncensored blu-ray RIP, or else I've seen that pictures within anime shows (pics on the wall, paintings etc) have shown nipples when the show is a pg-13, is it some sort of loophole that pics within a show (which itself is just animated pictures) don't have to abide by the shows rating? I honestly don't know but I've seen this before and wondered how they get away with it.

The first story about Futaba's boob drawing was just too out there for a primary school (or any school for that matter), what with the principal praising the drawing as 'the perfect boobs'.

Second story about a broken pencil case was actually quite sweet.

Last story is about poor Satou getting caught up in Chiba's panty schemes and ending up with pants on his head, then in his school desk and finally gets caught by Mitsuba taking pants off Futaba. The show is definitely ramping up the lewd aspect of the jokes.

Episode 4

Yep, the first story celebrates the art of drawing the perfect breasts. And yeah, I'm also surprised that it got away with a PG-13 rating, @23feanor. Nothing I'm seeing is censored. The principal says he's been searching for the perfect breasts for years, which... I mean, if you're going to pick a life goal, you could do worse. Just maybe... don't try to find it from one of your elementary school students, no matter how good her shading is. And maybe don't post them in the hallway for everyone to see. Also, Yabe-chi is clearly a virgin and, as their nurse says, they're really all just perverts (though you have to admire the craftsmanship).

For the second, we get a bit of emotional attachment to a pencil case, which actually works pretty well. It's the first thing Futaba has broken that she feels truly bad about, and to make it up to her sister, she makes pencil cases out of her own uniform. We even get a look back at when they were younger, and Mitsuba was apparently not always the smarmy child she is today.

For the third, a school project turns into a pantie raid, which then turns into a game of hacky sack with balled up panties that end up on Satou's face. This all culminates in Futaba trying to give him just... all the panties, including a scene where she pulls a chain of them out of her pockets (pretty sure someone imagined that happening in a previous episode). This almost ends in Mitsuba coming to an understanding of him, but then he's pushed into taking off Futaba's panties (which she was wearing outside her uniform) right in front of Mitsuba, so that ship sailed.

Hello!

Right now, the site I go to watch anime that can’t be found on CR, is down, so I will have to wait until later.

Question in the meantime; do you (any of you) have any serie/s that you feel was a no go, even though it has high ratings and has a lot of fans. I am thinking of one series like that, namely Stein’s gate. It has it all and yet, I have tried to watch it like three times, and not just three episodes, but like seven or eight. And, still, I can’t figure out what is so good about it. It just flyes over my head.

Do you have any serie/s like that?

I dropped both Toradora and Gurren Lagann on the first watches, and same as you I watched up ep 7 or 8 iirc. I eventually watched both shows as part of a r/anime group watch and ended up really liking both. The start to Steins Gate is a bit slow, but it's a really great series. Think I watched it back in 2019 so can't remember much. It does get a bit complicated. Also remember the trap character is easily the cutest in the show, despite being a boy.

Ep 4, then. Yes, Futaba is having a real obsession with boobs, I wonder why, though? She is unable to do a proper drawing of her teacher, she just draws his face, with a females nude body. Hitoha is unexpectedly defending her big sister. The teacher t-shirt has the Word ”cherry” on it, I wonder why that is…the drawing ends up on the schools Wall of Fame, together with former principals and whatnot!

Shin gets his need for a lifetime of panties, but the real hidden secret is spoken out by Chiba, to Futaba. Boys are more interested in what is IN the panties, not the panties themselfes.

@23feanor thanks for your kind answer! I also had serious troubles with Toradora, since I remember it as plain boring. There was no development in the romantic department and hardly any in the characters, either. Another series, with the criterias ”high-rated and many fans”, is the almost brandnew series The Dangers In My Heart…I think it is because it is too much school and too young students…

Episode 5. There are some really well directed and composed shots in this show, such as the moment Futaba rises from the basket of panties to the sound of a jet engine, and when the dad runs from the classroom, going through the door, down the stairs and out the window.

So first off we get a discussion of breast sizes, and we meet Futaba's class rival. They try and compete over who has the biggest breasts and the need for a new bra, taking us to the department store to see Mitsuba agonise over which new bra to buy. Futaba gets brought in to judge the breast sizes but can't see any breasts. I thought Hitoha's comment, that she held back from saying was pretty funny.

Middle story was about nipples being enamoured with Mitsuba's hamster panties, but when nipples sees the panties on Mitsuba they look more like a piggy, so nipples loses interest.

Episode 5, is is.

This episode was a funny one, too. I just laughed flat out when the boy was celebrated as a ”hentai”. Poor guy…

The boob-contest is on and Futaba is called in, as a true connesiuer. That word is severly misspellt, I know…

The parents coming to visit their children is another humiliating experience for the girls dad. I have been to many such occations, having three children. But I don’t think that I have ever been the only father to show up. Once again, he is made to run and get caught by the police, like genus some membrer of the yakuza…

@filifjonkan

I honestly don't drop that many series, much to my own frustration (since it leads me to finishing series that I really don't like). Steins;Gate was one of those series that I just vibed with up until the midpoint when you get a pretty dramatic shift in the story, but I know a lot of people don't vibe with the first half, which is largely just building out these characters and the world. I would recommend at least sticking it out until episode 12 or 13, since you're not far off from it, and see if that twist works to your liking. As for me, all my dropped or paused series aren't particularly high rated, and I can't recall a series that just was a no go for a while that I ended up picking up later and really liking. The closest example of series that just didn't work for me (though I watched them both through) were Baccano! and Rainbow. The former I watched by myself somewhat recently and though the characters were really interesting, the jarring jumps back and forth in time made it hard to appreciate the narrative. The latter was part of a group watch we did a while back and I believe we all agreed that the first half of the series (which, interestingly enough, gets far more love from fans than the latter half) was just a slog to get through due to the nature of its torture porn elements and its whole shonen in a seinin world vibe. It eventually worked when the attitudes and circumstances of its characters caught up with the narrative, but it took a while to get there and if it wasn't part of a group watch, I probably would have dropped it early on.

Episode 5

Yeah, I chuckled when Futaba wanted to buy the store clerk's boobs. This girl does not play around when it comes to breasts, and that jet shot of Futaba rising like a jet engine out of the panties was priceless. Thought the humor was getting a little stale, but then they throw something like this at you.

I was noting this earlier, but thought it was just a one-episode thing: their father is clearly drawn differently, with thick black outlines that move at a lower frame per second than he or the other characters do. Really makes him stand out as a character, quite literally. I feel bad for him since Mitsuba really takes it to him so often. Dude even shaves off all his hair, including his eyebrows (initially accidentally), and ends up looking more like Agent 47 in his black suit and sunglasses. Best dad ever, despite all those arrests for looking creepy as all hell. Dude just has an aura. Also, pretty sure one of the parents is just a hamster pretending to be human, so he's not even the weirdest one. Mitsuba ends up giving a rather sweet speech about her father that embarrasses her, while Futaba gives her actual speech, which is just mean. Watching him go from the sweetest expression of love to absolutely destroyed in blue and black is just amazing, and then he runs crying out of the classroom before tumbling down the stairs, flashing a "rock on" sign as he crashes through the window, surviving a fall that should definitely have killed him before being arrested (seriously, looks like entrapment - the cops were just there4 waiting for him). Like I said, best dad ever.

Gotta love the mutual celebration of perverts - everyone's so inclusive.

Futaba may be an Olympic level swimmer when she gets older, girl's got some speed and is powerful enough to behave more like a speedboat than a child in the water, absolutely devastating Mitsuba when she tries to stop her. Also, Chiba seems surprisingly interested in geopolitics. Who knew?

@whiteflame55 I noticed the dad's different char design but forgot to mention it, he is very clearly drawn to be distinct. From what we've seen I'm guessing the mum is out of the picture, passed away or left, and super dad has raised 3 twin daughters on his own. May account for some of the girls weird quirks. And yeah everyone making a fuss over Satou becoming a pervert was very funny. Small moments like that make this show. Will be interesting to see Satou develop over the series and whether he gets branded a complete pervert by the end, by intention or mistake.

Episode 6. The opening story where the dad helps Futaba act out sports day the night before was pretty damn sweet, what a dad.

Poor Yabe-chi gets mauled thanks to Mitsuoka and her sutras again and ends up naked with his boxers on Hitoha's head.

The last story about Mitsuba's class rival was the pick of bunch for me. She tried to out-do Mitsuba and ended up having to tell Mitsuba that she wanted to show her her sexy elegant panties, lol.

Thanks for your kind answer @whiteflame I can really agree with you on the series Baccano, it was hard to watch, due to the changes in the time-line. I haven’t watched Rainbow, but it has come across my mind. And I can also recognise myself when it comes to dropping series, I have spent hours watching them without enjoying them the very least. Hours that could have been spent on better things or other series.

On to ep 6, then. Futaba is up and about in the middle of the night, rehearsing for the upcoming school-event, with competition in all kinds of branches. I can’t remember that we had such competitions, in tug-of-war, relay running and all the other stuff. Did you have such competitions in school @23feanor @whiteflame55?

Being a real winner-head, Futaba goes all in, with devastating results. We found that Hitoha is afraid of heights, too. A fun part!

Their sensei falls victim of a virus, again. But! Mitsuoka, the girl with a huge interest in spiritual things, finds a way to heal Yabe-sensei. A rather un-orthodox way, I must say.

The comparing contest between the girls also continues, to my amusement.

@23feanor Yeah, they haven't thought to mention the mother yet. Clearly, their father feels it necessary to really step up in her absence, so there's something there, we just haven't seen it yet.

@filifjonkan We definitely had some physical competitions, but it was more like physical evaluations against a national standard than it was against others at my school. We did do things like this at summer camp, though the whole cavalry thing was never something we did.

Episode 6

Seriously, my favorite running joke in the series is that everyone is just automatically suspicious of their father. He really doesn't do himself any favors in the ways he skulks around and looks nervous, but dude's being profiled, so I get it. Dude shows how devoted he is to his kids in the first segment, really giving it his all to ensure that Futaba gets a thorough practice run-through of the events coming the following day. And he gets suplexed for his trouble. Girl's insanely strong. Also, father of the year.

On the day of the competition, for some reason they put Hitoha on top despite being very afraid of heights. Meanwhile, Mitsuba delights in pulling other girls' hair. But no one can hold Futaba down - girl basically solos for her team with her teeth alone, but they're mostly worked up by Mitsuba being a brat - even Hitoha helps out. But Futaba's so driven that she just wolfs down the caps in the end.

Yabe-chi just can't catch a break, getting sutras painted all over his body because he fell ill. One of the girls does have some infighting with Mitsuba, but in a battle of panties, she's the one who loses for touting the sexiness of hers. Perverts all around, no huzzah this time.

Also, I noticed a hamster-face child, likely connected to the hamster-face mother from the last episode. Eerie.

@filifjonkan We used to have a sports day with races, sack race, three-legged race etc. I was always second in the races to this one really fast kid, still remember his name Adrian!

Episode 7. First off we have Hitoha getting into Gachi Rangers, a kids super hero show and then having a big misunderstanding with Yabe-chi where they talk at cross purposes.

The next couple of stories are about the Helplessly in love with Satou club, first off they mistake a pic of the girl's dad when he was younger for Satou and one of them ends up going for a bath with Futaba and her dad. Then the club starts believing that if they show Satou their panties they'll become his girlfriend. This spreads to the school and all girls (plus a cleaner) want to show him their pants, much to Satou's chagrin. I like the stories with Satou.

We then come full circle and end with a story about Hitoha wanting to tell Yabe-chi about her love for Gachi Rangers. This gets mistaken by a classmate, Yuki, who thinks Hitoha is stalking Yabe-chi.

This show does walk the tightrope on the issue of attraction to kids, making light of what is a pretty dark and disturbing irl issue. Sometimes it's funny and other times it just a bit weird and creepy, like when the girls dad walks into the bathroom naked with with a kid that's not his.

Episode 7.

This show relies very much on constant misunderstandings and they are funny, at least sometimes. Futaba is cleaning the room and gets caught by a show, that she starts to like. On her way to school, Mitsuba makes fun of another girl who also saw the show. Futaba becomes embarresed and thinks that she is too old to watch that kind of shows. It so happens that the teacher also likes to watch the show and from there, the misunderstandings are abundant. If I may say so, I recognise myself in this. I rarely tell other people that I watch anime, they just think I watch h-anime and such stuff or that I am really childish to watch that.

Then we find out that their father was real good-looking in hus younger days. With more misunderstandings regarding the photo that Futaba takes with her to school.

Hitoha tries to set things right with her teacher and things get very weird.

@whiteflame55 I also remember summer camps with some of the competing stuff. I grew up in a pretty rough part of my town and the local congregation was kind to take us on yearly rides to different places, so that we see something else than the usual environment. It was much appreciated and the people in the Church were very kind to us.

@filifjonkan in my case, it was a Jewish overnight camp, but same basic idea.

Episode 7

I loved watching Power Rangers when I was younger, so I can relate to Hitoha. They really go all out, with the monster losing, falling over, and exploding. Love that. Mitsuba calls it a kiddie show, revealing herself as the true villain of the series. Everything she has done before is forgivable, but this... Still, I feel for Hitoha - she's trying to find her fan group, but the wind, her skirt, and her teacher's non-specific words won't cooperate. And poor Yabe-chi can't catch a break, either. Hitoha watches more later, finding out that monsters need panties too. Due to another misunderstanding, one of the other girls thinks Hitoha is obsessed with Yabe-chi, resulting in a pseudo-confession that leaves everyone upset for all the wrong reasons. That look on Hitoha's face was priceless.

We get more misunderstandings as a Satou girl fan club mistakes a photo Futaba's carrying of her father in his younger years for Satou himself. She calls it her treasure and claims they take baths together. They steal the photo, and misunderstandings ensue. Generally, the lack of specificity in conversation seems to be the deciding factor in plots for these episodes. They're not so much idiot plots because they are talking, it's just that what they're talking about is so often left unclarified that things go awry. Works more often than I would have expected. Anyway, this all culminates in a bath with a big, hairy adult man. Surprised he wasn't dragged out of the house by the police again.

But it's not over for Satou, who has to deal with all the girls trying to show him their panties to attract him. I'd feel better for him if it didn't involve the force of nature that is Futaba coming after him with high kicks and an older cleaner lady who is apparently jonesing to become his girlfriend. Dude's too good for this world. Oh well, at least we get a nice wholesome yuri shot of him with Chiba. It's Butters and Craig all over again.

@23feanor @whiteflame55 thanks a bunch for your kind answers! For some reason, it seems like I can’t stop making comparisons from the anime that I watch into my personal life. That is why my comments on the episodes tend to be a bit personal. Sumimasen desu!

I very much enjoy reading your comments, they are both funny and spot on. Hope you have had a nice day!

Hey, jumping in on this one. Turns out I already had this series saved.

Ep 1, Nipples the Hamster made me think of John Candy from Uncle Buck, the washing machine scene, it's the same exact joke:

*Overheard by a female neighbor* *banging sounds* "Open up for daddy, come on - you're gonna take my load, don't make me force it"

Ep 2 overall warming up to this series more as it goes along. the snot scene while disgusting was pretty ingenious, that snot defies physics. The way the pee scene keeps escalating with pee in her coffee, pee medicine and pee eye-drops was hilarious. Possibly up there as one of the best klutzes in a long time.

Ep 3 highlights were Mistsuoka, who youngest daughter initially mistakes for a lesbian or something, but comes to realize she's a chuuni / spirit believer. Also the dad came out of nowhere, most sensible dad ever. The two most colorful side characters so far. A large portion of the gags so far revolve around misunderstandings and people behaving in ways that can easily be misconstrued.

Ep 4 : the boob sketching part nodded back to the misunderstood "nipples" sketch, but wasn't as fresh, while the third segment about panties wasn't as edgy and over the top as the scene with the dad being arrested. Oppai and Pantsu almost feel a bit played out and not as edgy and transgressive as some other segments like the snot or pee ones.

@filifjonkan I'm constantly comparing anime to my personal experiences, especially with a show like Nana, which was so relatable it was uncomfortable to watch at times. @whiteflame55 I missed the Power Rangers phase, or it wasn't on tv in the UK when I was at an age to enjoy it, or likely it was on satellite tv, which we didn't have. Oh South Park, I remember that episode and reminds me I need to catch up with new SP, if it's even available in the UK, not on a cable channel.

@cipheron good to have you along and sorry to hear about your situation with the lease, glad it's sorted now.

Episode 8. First up Mitsuba plays a prank on Hitoha during a PE lesson. So when they get locked in the storage room Hitoha gets her back pretending to be ill so Mitsuba will find them a a way out. Well played Hitoha.

Then we get another misunderstanding concerning nipples the hamster.

A roach extermination at Yabe-chi's apartment, where the not speaking and miscommunication was a bit dumb, Hitoha could have easily told him there were roaches in his dvd and on his figure.

Then Futaba helps with a missing boy at a store and we get a bouncy and loud song! Futaba ends up essentially kidnapping the young boy and they end up lost. Futaba draws a pic of his mum and they both fall asleep.

More misses than hits for me today.

Gurren Lagan didn't hit for me and I was going to drop it, around ep 6-7. It turns out that ep 8 was the critical episode. Same thing for Steins;Gate but a different episode.

It takes some time setting everything up, but there are some big pay-offs. Consider that right now, the characters are playing around with forces they don't understand, and treating it like a toy ...

Also a big draw was the vocal performance of Okabe's Japanese voice actor, he did a great job of portraying a conspiracy-mad wannabe mad scientist. I tried the dub and the American actor doesn't bring that same manic energy to the part, so if you were watching it dubbed, i could see not getting why he's a great character.

Finally, Steins;Gate is deeply immersed in "real life" conspiracy lore (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Titor).

@cipheron nice to have you with us! Iraeseimasu! Also, thanks for your input on the Steins;Gate-series. Quiet often I compare or draw parallells to my own life and the things that has happened @23feanor, when watching anime or other movies. Does any of you guys watch other film than anime? I watch a lot of movies, mostly streaming these days. But I remember when we rented something called a Movie-box, which was a VHS-machine along with whatever movie we wanted to see together. I had arms down to my knees after carrying that machine home.

On to ep 8. We see another side of both Mitsuba and Hitoha, when they are locked in the storage room, a pretty generic thing to happen in anime, I have noticed. The teacher is afraid of roaches and is offerten help from Futaba and Hitoha, but some misunderstandings get in the way of what could have become a glorious friendship, centered around their interest for the Gachi Rangers.

Finally, Futaba ”helps” a lost boy in the department store. Her drawing of Mama is indeed a masterpiece! An amusing episode, IMHO.

@filifjonkan I definitely watch a lot of non-anime movies, so we could definitely talk about them. Watched and loved Oppenheimer recently in theaters, excellent movie.

@cipheron Glad you joined us, and I agree that both TTGL and Steins;Gate hit inflection points, though I was rather engrossed by both of them well before those points were hit. They just elevated the material for me. And yes, Okabe's Japanese VA is amazing, one of my favorite VAs around.

@23feanor Worth catching up on some aspects of South Park, but not all. It's become more uneven with time for me, despite having more consistent plotting.

Episode 8

Hitoha and Mitsuba accidentally get locked in the storage room. I'll never get tired the use of cats screeching while someone's making a ruckus, and watching Hitoha get vengeance on Mitsuba in the end was cathartic.

Nipples the hamster is once again the subject of misunderstanding in the classroom. Well, at least it's not about the hamster's name anymore, just his relationships with the students... is what I'd say if they didn't upset the principle by talking about the hamster outside his door. Yeah, this joke ran its course early on, feels like it's hung on a little too long.

Similarly, we get a continuation of the issues with Gatchi Rangers being mistaken for other things, in this case cockroaches. This is also pretty played out, though at least Hitoha is trying to clear the air. Futaba going after all the cockroaches with her usual zeal (and even nailing a couple to the wall) was a treat.

Speaking of Futaba, she's working on her gains with a dumbbell and helps a kid find his parents while Hitoha gets her feet massaged at the mall. Futaba, now with younger child in tow, escapes the mall zips through the neighborhood with her feats of acrobatics and strength as we sing a catchy song about pi (the number, not the food), coffee cups, letters and, obviously, breasts. Futaba makes a picture-perfect chalk drawing of his mother (complete with substantial breasts), and they fall asleep on top of it before getting found by a cop in the next town over (seriously, how far did they run on this kidnapping escapade?).

that's a weird way to interpret the song.

Ep 5 awkward comedy about underwear, hamster falls in love with animal print panties, swimming class and a boob contest, the dad shaving his head and being mistaken for a yakuza was the definite
episode highlight. I also noticed the dad's art style. It feels like he's deliberately from another show, another era, real Showa Era vibes. it highlights how incongruous he is in the setting. Some really good set pieces for the middle daughter in this episode, she really is the manic genki girl.

Ep 6 great scene with the dad and sports training. The actual sports day event was a bit more pedestrian in terms of comedy. Then, we revisit Matsuoka(?) the spirit obsessed girl. it's not quite as fresh as the big reveal at the pool but it's amusing. Lastly, the rival tries to one-up the older daughter and gets thoroughly humilated. Again, the dad is the MVP in this one.

Ep 7 Really nice episode, the gloomy daughter unexpectedly gets hook on a Sentai hero show, tries to share her love of the show with others, gets wires crossed with the teacher, accidentally calls him a pervert for liking the same show. Then, the girls are chasing Saito, and mistake a picture of the triplet's dad back in his school days for Saito, with amusing results. Finally, one of the other girls in the class 'ships' the younger daughter and the teacher, gets wires crossed about the talk of the Sentai TV show and decides something really inappropriate is going on, accidentally 'confesses' to the teacher for her.

Ep 8 Pretty good. Starts with a locked in the gym storage scene, then moves onto the youngest daughter being jealous of "Nipples" the hamster. I really laughed at the principal's reaction to overhearing them taking about rubbing "Nipples". Next we get a great scene where the teacher's house is infected with cockroaches. Misunderstandings abound when the youngest daughter is appalled at the cockroaches but it keeps making look like she's appalled at the teacher's love of Gachi Rangers.

Finally, capping off the episode we have the middle daughter kidnapping a kid set to an insert song about her love of boobs of all sizes (op-pai) but especially giant ones. The first insert song of the show and it was a really funny scene. Finally, the mother of the boy, rightly says her kid is never to see her again, after seeing that she drew the mother with huge boobs.

@filifjonkan we do watch some non anime films, although we watch more live action series than films. We've got Fantastic Beats: Crimes of Grindewald, John Wick 3, Dune (new version) and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 that we've been meaning to pick up but never seem to find a good window. Em's got some time off coming up so will hopefully get through some of them then. Never heard of a movie box, we had a VHS player at home, mostly to record football.

Episode 9. First sketch was pretty good. Chiba mistakes Hitoha's Gachi Rangers reading book for porn and they talk at cross purposes until Hitoha asks him to show her some of his moves, which he demonstrates on Yabe-chi pulling down his trousers. Also noticed Chiba is wearing a t-shirt that says 'erection'.

Then we get Hitoha dressing up as santa for Futaba. Then Mitsuba gets some new zodiac panties for new years but they fly off in the wind and she has to chase them down.

Thought the little walk with the oil drum was well done. Mitsuba being a nice sister.

Bowling on ice with Futaba was ok. Nice unique ED with swan lake classical music.

@cipheron the English translation did a good job with the song, and now I have watched so much anime that I almost don’t need the subtitles anymore. It is kinda weird actually, we watched a program where a Japanese boy, 11 years old, showed the way to his school. I understood all of what he said..

@23feanor yes, we also watch series. Recently we watched Guardians part 3 and I think it’s the best film, so far. The movie-box was the machine we rented before we had our own VHS-recorder. I still have a VHS-machine, in the basement, but it is not possible to connect it to the modern TV:s, that don’t have SCART-sockets. And, I still have some 300 DVD-movies, all the movies from Studio Ghibli, for example.

@whiteflame55 I would happily discuss movies, what are your thoughts on the movie about Oppenheimer? Didn’t he think ”I have become death, destroyer of world”, when he the first test of the nuclear bomb? We (me and the old lady) watched Guardians of the Galaxy, part three last week. In our opinion, that was the best movie in this franchise, at least so far.

Ep 9, a bit of misunderstandings here, too. I liked when the episode went into ”silent movie” where Mitsuba helps Futaba to find a barrel, in which she can take a bath.

Then the ”ice-bowling”, that was just nasty…

@filifjonkan So, I had read American Prometheus, a biography of Oppenheimer on which the movie was based, a while back. He did say those words during an interview, but he's a bit complex when it comes to understanding his position more broadly on the use of the nuclear bomb, and I think both the movie and book do an excellent job conveying how his own ego and intellect confounded his moral views. I was fond of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 myself as well. The whole trilogy was a treat, and this one certainly had the most effective pathos, though I'd still say that the first is my favorite of the bunch, despite the underwhelming villain. Just peak group dynamic for me.

@23feanor I can save you at least one watch. Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald was awful. Unequivocally, the worst thing in the Harry Potter Wizarding World franchise as a whole. Secrets of Dumbledore is better, but honestly, it's still a bit of a trainwreck and it's unclear if they'll continue from here. As for the rest, I'm not caught up on John Wick beyond the first movie, but I've heard all the movies are exceptional. Denis Villeneuve did an excellent job with Dune - he apparently can do no wrong (loved Sicario, Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival), and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is well worth the watch.

Episode 9

So, yep, seems every time the Gachi Rangers come up, they're confused with something else - this time, it's porn! Leads to some solid humor from Chiba, who's wearing a 69 hat just for the occasion as well as that shirt @23feanor mentioned, and ends up pulling down Yabe-chi's underwear.

What's that weird noise Mitsuba was making while cramming down the potato chips in Yabe-chi's room? Can't say I recognize it.

The girls' father is down with a cold and thus cannot portray Santa. Hitoha tries to take it on, gifting Futaba some fake breasts before getting groped. Hitoha somehow conceals her identity as Santa.

Mitsuba's collecting Zodiac panties but ends up losing the boar due to Futaba. She runs into Satou and Chiba, finding them just out of reach a bunch of times before accidentally donating them at a shrine.

Cute little segment without any vocals (the music is honestly  pretty cute) where Mitsuba helps Futaba make a hot bath outside their home in an oil drum, though Futaba ends up satisfied by a mechanical rubber duck.

Interesting that Futaba doesn't really seem affected by the cold at all, just wearing her normal clothing and then a swimsuit without issue. Ice bowling with Futaba is fun enough, being sent along with a swift kick to the buns. This leads to her imminent flight after Shin showcases his powerful striking ability. And yeah, I'm fond of that ED. Simple, but effective.

@whiteflame55 yeah that was a weird noise Mitsuba made whilst eating the chips, I almost thought the audio dropped out for a moment but think it was intentional.

Episode 10. First off a bunch of younger kids play with the older ones. Mitsuba ends up retrieving a kids lost helicopter from a tree and looking down sees Hitoha showing the young kid her chest. Turns out they both like gachi rangers and are showing off their merch to each other. We also get our fist hint about the twins missing mother when Hitoha cryptically tells the kid to appreciate the fact his mother buys him anything whenever he wants. Mitsuba is unhappy that the kid seems to prefer Hitoha so shows him her panties, and the kid tells his sister, who is none other that Mitsuba's rival. Quite funny.

Mitsuab then gets an ego trip as the young kids call her a cool, stylish, elegant nympho, which was also quite funny.

Mitsuba and Futaba break Hitoha's gachi rangers shirt and belt. Futaba apologises with sincerity, but Mitsuba tries to hide her dastardly deed and gets locked in the garden for her punishment.

Finally Mitsuba gets ill and acts like an annoying brat. The class rival, Sugisaki and co, come to visit and Mitsuab ends up needing a suppository, although they didn't show the deed itself, that would be a bit spicy even for this show.

Good episode.

@whiteflame55 I didn’t know almost anything about Oppenheimer, not more than he was the leader for the Manhattan project and that his parents were Jewish. I took some time to read about Oppenheimer on Wikipedia. It was interesting and I learned more, both about Oppenheimer and the nuclear project.

Ep 10, then. It starts off with younger children visiting the older ones, in school. I know that we have such visits from younger children in Sweden, the semester before the younger ones begin school. The older children are menat to ”adopt” a younger child, to help to feel comfortable in their new surroundings. Mitsuba is kind to help a boy, whos RC-helicopter got stuck in a tree. The boy turné out to be a real brat, and on top of that, Mitsubas enemys brother! The word ”nympho” gets a new meaning in this episode.

I think Futaba shows a new and good side of herself, when she realises that she has made Hitoha sad, breaking her t-shirt with the Gachi Ranger-print on it. She even makes Hitoha a new shirt, which she approves and like, bc it’s cooler than the one Futaba broke. Well done!

Then poor Mitsuba catches a cold and tries to take full advantage of her being sick. The trio of girls from their class come to visit, but Mitsuba is just ungrateful. The real dessert in this episode, that got me laughing pretty hard, was the pill…all in all, a good episode.

@filifjonkan I've long been fascinated by Oppenheimer. I think it's easy for a lot of people to see him as a villain of sorts, but I find him to be too complex for any simple characterization (as, let's face it, most human beings are, but given his role in something so dramatically world-altering, it's all the more interesting to me).

Episode 10

Rather unusually, we get a couple of prolonged episodes this time, both of which are united by a rivalry between Mitsuba and Miku. The first of those stories really emphasizes Mitsuba's vanity: she sees what she thinks is Hitoha showing the goods to a younger boy, and responds by flashing her panties at him to draw his attention to her; after hearing that she was called a nympho by Miku for doing that, she completely changes the meaning of the term to make it look like Miku was complimenting her, only to have Futaba and a couple of younger girls latch onto the term and use it with abandon; she breaks a Gatchi Ranger belt owned by Hitoha and, rather than own up to it, decides to blame it on her father thinking that it's a weight loss belt and owning up to it would make her look like she is concerned about her weight; finally, rather than accept help from classmates who come over to help nurse her in bad health, she actively spurns them because she doesn't want to be seen as weak, only to collapse from her illness.

It's notable that Mitsuba does learn from at least some of this. She tries to get the girls to stop calling her a nympho by actively pushing them away, despite the fact that that removes a good chunk of her fanbase, in order to ensure that they don't get flagged for saying they want to be nymphos too. At least it's something. Futaba didn't learn anything from it, but then, she probably doesn't need to, showing a maturity her older sister definitely lacks by designing a new t-shirt that... honestly, looks pretty rad (seriously, girl has some solid art skills, just needs to diversify out of breasts more often) to replace the one of Hitoha's that she tore. A sweet moment.

Also, yeah, pretty funny that the suppository somehow made Mitsuba feel better in the end. And yes, that pun was intentional.

I liked this one, solid episode.

Ep 9. Quite a few segments this time.

The running joke with youngest failing to share her love of Gachi Rangers. Misunderstandings abound, this time with Sochi wanting to view youngest's porn but she's actually reading about the Gachi Rangers, similar to the conversation she had with the teacher a few episodes ago. Ends up with the teacher getting pantsed. Almost forgot, we get an odd 4th wall breaking scene where Yabe-chi is interviewing Mistuba as if it's a talk show.

@whiteflame55 - As for the sound it's like "mucho kara" and might be a Japanese onomatopoeia similar to "munch munch". Googling it, there is at least one snack food in Japan called "Kara Mucho", which is a spicy potato-chip based snack. So the joke is definitely connected to that. Whether this is a broader in-joke in Japan or specific to the show, IDK.

Then, we get a mini christmas episode with youngest daughter having to dress as Santa and deliver Futaba's present - a boob pillow, followed by a scene where mistube gets some new animal print panties and she now has the full zodiac, as well as basically the whole cast from the Momotaro fairy-tale. After a fight over them, it blows away into a tree, the boys discover it and there's conflict over it. Mitsube ends up chasing the panties to a shrine where it fell into the collection box, so she makes what I assume is a New Years wish with the panties as an offering.

After that, we have a fairly clever sketch with no dialogue. Futaba really wants an outdoor bath, and first fills a kiddy pool from the bath but ends up ruining dinner and splashing everyone with water. Mitsube then tells her of a 40 gallon drum she saw, to make a heated bath. An epic quest then ensues to get the drum home. Futaba is oblivious as always, as Mitube tries to stop her getting run over, running over a child, mother duck and ducklings and a stag beetle, or veering off into the road when she can't see where she's going. We see a rare level of concern for others from Mitsuba, highlighting her more dere side of her tsundere exterior. Mitsuba gets run over by the barrel, and slammed head-first into a concrete embankment for her concern. Finally, they make it home but discover the drum has no bottom, defeating the point. Their dad then offers Futaba a wind-up duck and she's delighted, much to Mitsuba's annoyance as Futaba settles for a normal bath.

In the final segment, the boys discover a frozen pool and Futaba dives head-first into the ice, before deciding to just slide around. A game of "bowls" then ensues with Futaba as the ball. Satou at first doesn't want to kick Futaba due to his conscience, but is goaded into it, kicking her in the butt and launching Futaba into the air. Later in the classroom, Futaba makes misleading statements about how great it was for Satou to nail her in the butt, to the shock of the other girls in the class.

@cipheron thanks for the details on 'mucho kara', that makes sense, bit like when they say 'sa sa sa' for sneak sneak sneak.

Episode 11. First off we see Mitsuba become self conscious over gaining some weight on her tummy when Futaba fondles her belly declaring it an 'I' cup. She resorts to using Sugisaki's phone in place of a fitness belt that vibrates. Sugisaki notices her phone has gone missing and this leads to Futaba and then Chiba groping her tummy and getting 'excited'. Sugisaki confesses to wanting to fondle Mitsuba's tummy so she can feel good too. I think the Mitsuba sketches may be my favourite, they always make me chuckle.

We then meet Sugisaki's mum at a department store where Mitsuba was shopping, who calls her a lustful dominatrix and proceeds to invite Mitsuba to verbally abuse her, lol.

Then we have another gachi rangers belt story and end on Mitsuba believing she was kidnapped, ending up in her hugging Sugisaki.

Episode 10 - A chain reaction of misundertandings, starts with the typical Gachi Rangers thing, leading to Mitsuba caught flashing her panties to a little kid, who turns out to be her rivals little brother. She's called a "nympho" by two kids as a result, tries to brush it off as a good thing, but things get out of hand ending in the classroom, with Futuba loudly saying she'll become a super-nympho like her sister.

Then, Mitsuba and Futaba accidentally wreck Hitoha's Gachi Rangers gear, which she'd shown to the kid at the start of the episode, sparking everything off, and go to the mall to buy replacements. They come across the little brother, who true to what he said earlier about his mother buying him anything, now has the same Gachi Rangers belt. They try to steal it from him, and are caught by the sister again, shocked that they seem to be molesting her brother. Futuba then apologizes to the younger sister for wrecking the t-shirt, but Mitsuba tries to blame the dad for wrecking the belt, ending up locked in the shed. The episode caps off with an unrelated segment about Mitsuba being ill and her rival + rival's friends visiting for some unknown reason.

Episode 11 - We start with Futuba squeezing Mitsuba's tummy and thinking it's like premium-sized boobies, leading to Mitsuba having a complex about her weight. This leads to her using the rivals cellphone as a makeshift vibrating weight-loss belt. This ends up diverting into the rival wanting to feel up her tummy ... a bit of latent yuri tension between the two of them.We then meet the mother of Mitsuba's rival and the little brother. Turns out she's huge mascohist and wants to be dominated by Mitsuba who she's heerd at lot about.

After this we get yet another Gachi Rangers misunderstanding, with the teacher thinking youngest daughter's lack of belt = lack of underpants and that she's saved for months for them. The teacher buys her underwear, but in the meantime, the boy's given his belt to her, and she says she doesn't need it to the teacher and tells him to wear it. He of course reacts strongly that he's not into that. Yet again the two biggest Gachi Rangers fans fail to share their love of the series.

Finally, a clever sketch where the nurse mistakenly ties up Mitsuba and she wakes up thinking she was captured by kidnappers. Her imagining of the dingy warehouse she thinks she's in, updated as she falls off the bed or bumps into things was a great touch. a good piece of both physical and visual comedy. Her relief to find Sujisaki alive at the end was a nice touching finish, it fleshes out Mitsuba's character and their status as frenemies.

@cipheron - thank you for the explanation of the Word game, when Mitsuba ate the snacks. Little things like that are amusing, IMO.

@whiteflame55 - mer Oppenheimers life and circumstances are interesting, I agree. It is quiet fascinating how a film can lead you to find out more and become curious. I, for one, had no idea at all that the calculations and the math that was to be done when USA were about to launch man to the Moon, was made by coloured women! That blev my mind. I can’t recall the name of the film now, but I thought it was very interesting, so I made some ”research” on my own. It took quiet some time and effort to do the research, but it was definitly worth it.

Just a quick question to you all; @23feanor, @whiteflame55 and @cipheron, now that season 1 only holds two more episodes, in what order should we take the remaining parts? Are we going to watch s02 or the OVA firat?

So, ep 11, which starts with Futaba caressing Hitohas cheeks, pretending that they boobies, then going over to Mitsubas mid-section, to the flabber there. Poor Mitsuba, not wanting to go the long road to love weight, is shown a belt, made to make you lose weight. But, it’s expensive. In Swedish money, 20000 yen equals to 2000 SEK. And, that is ten years ago.
Mitsuba gets a good idea, when she sees a cell-phone vibrate..when searching for the phone, both Futaba and the boy goes in to ”Oppai Tengoku”. Really fun episode!

The the episode in the store…such a hentai-mama! Who saw that coming? New misunderstandings, this time around the belt from Gachi Rangers, drives the teacher to buy Hitoha a new pair of….I wish that I had the scene with the teacher trying out the new garment unseen…

And, as a cherry on top of the cream, Mitsuba gets an attack from the nurse, called Healing Rolling. I feel real sorry for Mitsuba, thinking that she is kidnaped and panicking.

A real fun episode!

@cipheron Thanks for the details. It's not something I'd heard before, but that does make sense, particularly in relation to potato chip eating.

@filifjonkan I believe you're talking about Hidden Figures, which was a pretty solid movie in its own right. Great cast, some powerful acting, and a solid message.

As for your question about where to go next, it seems that the OVA is an unaired episode that became available after the second season aired. I can't find a watch order online, but based on what I've been reading of people commenting on the OVA, it seems like more of a capstone to the series. So, I say we go to S2 after this, finish off with the OVA, unless someone is able to find out more information about the OVA and its place in the story.

Episode 11

Mitsuba continues to have issues with her weight, brought on by Futaba fondling stomach fold. You've got to feel for her a bit. She ends up interested in using vibration to bring down her weight, and uses Miku's vibrating cellphone to see how it feels, leading to an awkward scene that looks like she's getting off to a vibrator - they know what they're doing. The search for the cell phone leads to Mitsuba, which for a lesser show, would have meant that we'd have a confrontation over why she has it. But, lest we forget, everyone in this class is a pervert. So Futaba once again grabs her flab to the point where she collapses out of sheer rapture. Chiba soon joins her, and even Miku decides she wants to experience that pleasure.

Mitsuba then runs into Miku's family in a clothing store. Miku's mother is amazing - apparently, she's just really into all the things Miku accuses Mitsuba of doing, and is down with being dominated by an elementary schooler, wanting to be whipped, trampled and ridiculed right there in public. They keep it just shy of totally sexualizing this, but we all know she's thinking it. She pretty much climaxes right there when Mitsuba calls her out for being a bad mother. Girl's a freak.

The misunderstanding regarding the Gatchi Rangers belt and thinking Hitoha was just going around without panties is a little played out by this point, since Yabe-chi should really know to investigate these things more thoroughly at this point before jumping to conclusions this stark, but the image of Yabe-chi wearing panties is enough to make this stand out.

The nurse mentions that today is "another casualty-free day." Seriously, she's hardcore. Because of her bad vision without her glasses, she thinks that Mitsuba's covered in blood because she's wearing red. So, like you do, she wraps her in bandages and gives her a concussion, dragging her through the resultant pool of blood. Mitsuba's used to head injuries at this point, so she'll be fine. What's a little brain damage and bondage? Anyway, she thinks she's been kidnapped for sex slavery, like you do, before injuring herself further in her desperate crawl/roll to safety. She makes it out of the nurse's office alive and mostly well (a red letter day, to be sure) before asking to be tied up again. Get your kinks, girl.

A fun episode to be sure.

@filifjonkan as @whiteflame55 said I think going onto S2 next and then the OVA makes sense

Episode 12. Haven't mentioned it yet but the OP has grown on me, like the dance sequence with the whole cast.

First off we get the 'normal girl' of the class, Miyashita wondering why Hitoha seems afraid of her (she doesn't know Hitoha is afraid of heights) and tries to prove she's the only normal one in a class full of perverted weirdos. Miya changes her hairstyle and no one knows who she is, she tries acting like someone else and they all think she's making a gag joke.

Then we get another weird interview of Futaba by Yabe-chi, in his room where she tells Yabe-chi to ask the original creator why she strength like a superhero.

We get girls vs boys dodgeball and some more Satou antics, with the girls wanting him to get them and fearing being tainted by someone other than Satou.

One of the 'helplessly in love with Satou' brigade Oga, plays football with the boys and yeah she's pretty good. More misunderstandings occur and she ends up taking off her panties and booting them into the distance. Go girl!

Best sketch was last. Miya tries to get closer to Hitoha and pairs up with her in gym class, inadvertently exposing her gachi rangers belt. Hitoha owns up to this and to her surprise everyone in class also likes gachi rangers, quite sweet. Miya however says she like the green ranger when there isn't a green ranger exposing herself a fake fan.

Episode 12 - Hitoha fear of heights is triggered when tall girl Miyashita tries to help her change a light tube by lifting her up. Miyashita misunderstands why Hitoha freaks out, thinking Hitoha hates her.

There are a number of small segments revolving around the "Satou Squad", dogeball and soccer, ending with the typical thing where Satou is labeled a pervert.

Miyashita tries to make friends with Hitohi, with the typical misunderstanding when is trying to draw attention to her Gachi belt to have something to talk about, saying she "felt something hard" on her stomach as cover, leading to the clear confusion that she's claiming Hitoha has a dick.

Finally, at last, Hitoha just admits she loves Gachi Rangers because she's sick of the constant misunderstandings. The rest of the class are supportive, and finally thinking she has an in, Miyashita fucks up at the end by saying she likes the green one, when there is no green one.

Sort of feels like one of the weaker episodes so far.

I agree, this was one of the weaker episodes. Tomorrow it is the last episode of season 1 and then we will start watching s02, ep 1 on Wednesday, I am in!

Are there any suggestions for a group-watch after Mitsudomoe?
