| MyAnimeList's front end—its databases, forums, news articles, social media pages—have been moderated by volunteers since MAL first began. They are community members who both want to give back to the website with their time and to personally challenge themselves in different role than they are used to. We are currently looking for new moderators in a variety of roles. If you are interested in one of these positions, please read through the requirements and consider applying following the steps within the spoilers. The following is listed in order of current need. Forum Moderator (High) We recently separated community moderators from forum moderators, and are still looking for more people to round out our new team. SNS Moderator (High) We're looking for people familiar with Instagram and Facebook, and are passionate about using our databases to create interesting posts for the community! If you're studying for a social media job and are looking for some experience for your resume, I'm always happy to write references upon request. News Moderator (High) We are looking for people who are passionate about news! Japanese is not a requirement if you have very high amounts of enthusiasm about news to replace it. Manga Moderator (High) We primarily need people with some Japanese proficiency (even being able to read hiragana is an asset!). However, we are also interested in people who are knowledgeable in these areas: BL, Teens Love/smut, hentai, Korean works. Review Moderator (Medium) We need people who can actively moderate the Interest Stacks section (searching for guideline-breaking stacks and moderating them without reports). Anime Moderator (Low) We are just finishing an active recruitment round. Only in need of highly experienced individuals familiar with our Anime DB Guidelines. Character Moderator (SoonTM) If you're mostly interested in Characters rather than Anime/Manga, please wait to apply!
