| Ok so setting, lore, action, scope and drawings are becoming crazier and crazier and some of those aspects better than before. The problem here is, when Dark Schneider is absent, the plot becomes so serious it is like reading a completely different manga. We started with a self aware comical take on high fantasy and here we are with a Devilman like take on the Bible for a twist and setting. I thought Anthrasax was supposed to be a super computer that went crazy but here we are with actual angels, God, demons and Satan being a thing in here. Also I don't get how is Anthrasax supposed to be really an angel, didn't the angels appear to wipe out humanity because of the things done when Anthrasax was created or something? Another thing is, I don't think all of this is presented exactly well, plot and pacing wise. The shogun, the samurai and the Shintennou are somehow surviving attacks from angels despite seemingly being killed, yet at the same time we are being given all this exposition from Kall-Su, almost as if it was needed for him to be absent from the fight because of how strong he is or something. Overall this is still very fun and I like it, but this volume was definitely mediocre as a whole. |
