REC CLUB WINTER CHALLENGE 2022 - UNWRAPPED! DECEMBER 4TH - JANUARY 1ST Welcome back everyone for another holiday-themed challenge! After a joyful Christmas last year, Santa Claus has (secretly) seen all your hard work you have done the past year and has decided to give everybody a present! Or 2. Or 12! This month-long event will have you go through the special gifts you’ve received. Everyone receives the same gift, and it’s up to you which ones you want to open and participate in! HOW TO PLAY There are 12 different gifts to select below. Each gift has one through three tasks to perform. Pick one gift to challenge and complete! - Each task will have you watch/read a specific genre, theme, or other action. Some tasks may require you to do a combination of the three. - You must complete each task in a gift to complete the challenge. - All anime (TV series, movies, OVAs, etc.), manga, and novel titles are eligible for each task. - You may only use one anime title per task. Titles can’t be reused for other gifts/tasks. - You must start watching/reading a new title for this challenge, and the title must be marked finished before December 2022 (anime that continue to air to 2023 or manga/novels that are currently publishing do not count.) - Rewatches/rereads are allowed; please state them in your post. CHOOSE YOUR GIFT List of Gifts Imgur Album of Gifts: https://imgur.com/a/8PFJ0uj Gift 1: My Anime Gift Card - Complete any 3 titles of your choice to watch or read Gift 2: Barrel of Soldiers - Complete any Military theme title - Complete a Drama theme title also tagged Historical theme - Complete any title with at least double the minor characters listed than major characters Gift 3: Early Valentine’s - Complete any Comedy title - Complete a Romance title without the Harem theme tag - Complete a title that first aired/published between July and December of any year Gift 4: Auntie Knows Best - Complete the manga source/adaptation for an anime title you finished previously, or complete an anime adaptation/source for a manga title you finished previously Gift 5: All Before Law & Order - Complete any Mystery genre title - Complete any Detective theme title - Complete any Organized Crime theme title Gift 6: Checkered Tie - Complete any Adult Cast theme title - Complete any one title of the following theme: Childcare, Medical, Performing Arts, Showbiz or Workplace Gift 7: Safety First - Complete any Sports theme title - Complete an Avant Garde genre title - Complete any title with 10 or fewer characters listed for the title Gift 8: Vintage Tape - Complete any title that first aired/published before 1980 - Complete a Mecha genre title that aired before 1990 - Complete a Magical Girl theme title that aired before 2000 Gift 9: Action Imagination - Complete any Action title - Complete an Adventure genre title with less than 80k members - Complete any title that first aired/published before 2000 Gift 10: Krampus Koal - Complete any title with less than an overall rating of 6.70 - Complete any title with a popularity ranking #5000 or greater Gift 11: Jack Frost in a Box - Complete any Horror genre title or Suspense genre title - Complete any Seinen demographic title - Complete a Supernatural genre title with less than an overall rating of 7.00 Gift 12: Clearance Challenge Sale - Complete any title from the School Club Showcase or Florist/Gardener Interest Stack - Complete any title from the A Summer Out of This World or Midsummer Mermaids Interest Stack If you complete a gift, you may optionally start another gift to work on. Try to challenge yourself to see if you can get all 12 gift challenges complete! To participate in the event, create a post with the following information: - A link to your MAL profile - The gift(s) you are selecting for the event - The title associated to each task in a gift (direct link to the title preferable) Here’s an example you can follow for your post. Feel free to start the challenge at any time, but the event ends on January 1st! So be sure to get your post and list in before the end of the session!
