From a technical standpoint, the animation it's quite impressive. But that's all there is here, no substance nor any redeeming values in entertainment. It's just a shameless ad for the SW franchise. |
| Well, this is... a thing. I dunno why they didn't just upload this to Ghibli's official YouTube channel or somethin'. I mean, for something that was announced/advertised on social media as part of a premium streaming service and raised a fair amount of hype/speculation (particularly about whether or not Miyazaki would be involved), this was ultimately kind of a nothingburger tbh. |
| This was quite a nice surprise, I didn't even know this got released and saw it on Disney+ which I thought and found strange as why would Grogu be in the same thumbnail as Dust Bunies from Studio Ghinbli, especially after a good time not seeing much or anything at all from Studio Ghinbli, so honestly this was a really lovely surprise to see and I really enjoyed it. Bridging the gap between anime and Star Wars is something I really lovely so this certainly makes it have a special place for me! |

| I saw this a few times and it does not feel like a Ghibli project, it lacks the heart of a Ghibli film, but rather just something nonsensical which somehow is going to cause the audience to like it because it has Star Wars in it. If you really want a wholesome short production watch an episode of Luo Xiao Hei, Chi's Sweet Home, Hamtaro or Little Charo or something, Zen is just plain underwhelming. |
