| There's basically no difference between them, the anime is a nigh-perfect adaptation. But since the anime covers every little detail, many consider it to be paced too slowly. Personally, I really like it that way, but if you think that slow pacing would bore or bother you, you might want to go with the manga. The anime obviously adds colour, music, and voiceacting and so on, which together make a wonderful atmosphere, so if you care more about that, watch the anime. |
| I think that the source material for any anime is going to be better, but Monster did an exceptional job, and is just as good as the manga in my opinion. Either one is fine imo. |

| I have read the manga and watched the anime, so I can say this: choose freely. What do you enjoy the most? Manga or anime? What do you feel like the more? Monster anime is an excelent 1:1 adaptation, so the anime is exactly the animated manga. So don't worry and choose what do you want. |
| look, I started with the anime and took me 2 years to get to ep 40. not saying the anime is better or worse since both the anime and manga are essentially the same, but it's just a matter of what you prefer. There's no reason to listen to anyone, just go with one and see if you can sit through it for the next few days or weeks or not |
