Puella Magi Madoka Magica
| While watching the first 2 episodes it didn't seem to be that interesting and as great as others said, but hey it quickly became one of my favorites :) Now i just want to see if it's reputation is still as good as 10 years ago |

| I seem to be the only one that feels this way, but the first half was way better than the second half. I liked it overall and gave it a 7/10, so I'd still recommend it in general. |

| Not particularly I don't think it's the worst thing ever (far from it, in-fact), but I did find it incredibly disappointing, considering its reputation plus it being the first show I added to my PTW list The fact that the very next anime I binged after completing PMMM was JoJo's, which would go on to become my favorite anime of all-time, also didn't help Plus I found Rebellion and Magia Record borderline unbearably boring, which didn't help to improve my opinion of the series |

| I didn't like it that much at the time because I was expecting a typical Mahou Shoujo anime. But looking back it was pretty cool. I want to rewatch it someday with someone's who's oblivious to all the twists. |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |
| Personally, the show and Rebellion are the best show/movie I have ever seen (literally watched both over 10x since I first watched it last year in July) Why: - great, complex characters (with amazing VA's) - gorgeous visuals and direction (I'm a sucker for Shaft's style) - beautiful music by Yuki Kajiura + OP/ED (Kalafina you shall be missed) - the way the aforementioned OP/ED have been placed to highlight each episode (e.g., Mata Ashita for the ED of the first two episodes and then Magia, no OP for ep10 + 12, I'm Home ED for ep8... I think you get the idea) - haunting design of the witches - concise storytelling (every scene has a reason for being included in the show) - the way plot twists are being revealed so nonchalantly and abrupt - cute, unique character design - the dreamlike atmosphere + the city skyline of Mitakihara (the low number of people in the show + the Shaftness visuals/direction ceate this kind of eerie, surrealistic vibe, at least IMO) etc. etc. I could write a thesis about the greatness of both PMMM + Rebellion. |

| As of today's standards of rating an anime, I'd give it 8/10 if I was watching it for the first time. If watching it second time, I'd rate it 9/10. Thereafter, I'd rate it 10/10. Madoka Magica is a series which might look ordinary when watched for the first time, but it gets better every-time you re-watch it. I'd give it a 10/10 rewatchability score. It strikes the right balance of being short and conclusive at the same time. You don't need Madoka Magica from the perspective of different characters, since each character has been explored well, and you'll notice and relate with them each time you re-watch the series, just need to change you focus from one character to another. If you want to explore more about them, you can read the Mangas, which again can be completed in one day. After more than 10 years, I think it's one of the greatest shows of last decade, and it'll be remembered as a classic in years to come. The franchise is still alive, and hate Magia Record as much as you can, but it probably made the 4th movie possible. Personally, I can't wait to see what kind of marvel would produce which such talented animators on board. The 4th movie might end up unsatisfactory writing wise, but it would be visually stunning. |
