| Indeed, you watch the first season first (yay, redundancy!) then movies 1 and 2 are recaps, therefore you might want to leave those for a later rewatch and go watch movie 3 (Rebellion / Hangyaku no Monogatari) and join the movie 4 waiting room. Regarding Magia Record, it's a spin-off mobile game with an anime adaptation that kind of deviated from the original story; I enjoyed it however, it's got its moments :) If you want to watch it, it should be after the first season + movie 3, albeit it doesn't matter that much honestly. |

| series first, movie 3 second you could also watch the spin off either after or before movie 3, it certainly has good points, but overall it's kinda mid. the story is messy and there are WAY too many characters, but the said messy story is still kind of interesting and the production is top notch. I think if the style is something you loved about madoka you should watch, because if nothing else, it does get that right. |
