 A new anime project for Isuna Hasekura's Ookami to Koushinryou (Spice & Wolf) light novel was announced by publishing imprint Dengeki Bunko on Friday. The official Twitter account celebrating the series' 15th anniversary also revealed a teaser visual (pictured).Hasekura originally submitted the novel at the Dengeki Novel Prize in 2005 and won the Silver Prize. Media Works (later ASCII Media Works, now Kadokawa) began publishing the series through its Dengeki Bunko label in February 2006, featuring illustrations by Juu Ayakura. Kadokawa shipped the 23rd volume last September. Ookami to Koushinryou has a cumulative 5 million copies of its volumes in print. Hasekura launched the spin-off light novel Shinsetsu Ookami to Koushinryou: Ookami to Youhishi (Wolf & Parchment: New Theory Spice & Wolf) in September 2016. The sixth volume shipped last March. The first television anime by animation studio Imagin premiered in 13 episodes in Winter 2008, followed by an original video anime the following April. Brain's Base and Marvy Jack produced a second anime season in Summer 2009. Synopsis A young traveling merchant, Kraft Lawrence has become accustomed to days of roaming and trading, with few companions. Or so it was until one peculiar day where the trader finds a young, naked, wolf-like girl asleep in his wagon. The beautiful girl, calling herself Holo, claims to be a local wolf deity worshipped by locals as the God of Good Harvest. Year after year, she ensured they would reap a good harvest, but she has since grown tired of fulfilling the wishes of the ungrateful locals. Holo ends up striking a deal with Kraft: if he helps her escape the villagers, she will gladly help him in his merchant endeavors. Together, they roam from town to town in search of business, and Kraft realizes both the ups and downs of traveling with a haughty and shrewd wolf goddess. | Isn't what's written on the white screen near the end something that Holo says to Kraft past the end of the main 17 vol story, so in like vol 19-20 of the story ? Let me guess : that's going just to be a 12 minute special with random scenes happening in vol 20+ that will be delivered with a new BD collection made for the anniversary of the franchise. * cough, this is the same publisher as kyouhora that also released "brand new anime content" for the anniversary of a franchise that had 2 1 cours season anime, the similarities... |

| i think they will adapt last few volume AND first few volume of sequel to promote sequel sales. i can't think any other reason to do new series other than that. the PV show some line from last volume IIRC. |
