Instead of you know targeting the individual they just target the entire group as well showing to the executioner who is participating in thy wrath is all guitly with no form of lesser sin at all what so ever everyone is equally as bad as one another even if they had no part at all whatsoever.

The best example you can think about is in schools and well, those things just make students more disengaged and also even develop a much larger distaste of school or even worse create more troublemakers just to get back at the teacher.

In a matter of fact, could even be seen as a war crime as well too. In violation of the geneva convention but thats for like government type shit but still school children do have rights that should be protected and collective punishment is another failing of the school system in NA.

So what are your thoughts on the matter?

Yikes. I never enjoyed being grouped in with the people who actually deserve the punishment

The hand of one is the hand of all.

“Hand of one is the hand of all” is basically legal slang for accomplice liability. When a person is present at the scene of a crime, knows that the crime is being committed, and does something to participate or help, that person can be found guilty of the crime itself even though they did not technically commit the crime. It’s a legal theory that is often misunderstood and misapplied by police officers – often an officer will tell a suspect that they are guilty under the “hand of one is the hand of all” just because they were present when a crime was committed. Not true – if the person doesn’t know a crime is being committed, or if they did nothing to participate in the commission of the crime, then they are “merely present” – another legal term. Mere presence is not enough to convict a person of a crime (or charge them with a crime), and, if the jury finds that a defendant was merely present at the scene of a crime, they must acquit the defendant.

Just remember you can take an assured plea deal for lesser charges and punishment even if you aren't guilty.

This might work in a closed setting like a military unit, where a careless or grossly incompetent individual could get you all killed and you are not allowed to outright frag them but just hope the collective can get them right or something. Doing this at a society level is the fastest way to start a insurrection. Obviously the best way to gain trust and loyalty is to threaten people.

When I was in basic training my drill sergeants would tell us that it only takes one of you to fuck shit up for everybody else. Collective punishment happens outside of school, military and prison.A lot of laws are collective punishment. In some states you can't sell copper without a special license because meth addicts would steal copper and sell it. You can't buy certain cold medicines over the counter because meth addicts would use those medicines to make meth. In some countries you can't buy guns because out of the millions of people who own guns a handful of people used them for mass murder. In some states you can't pump your gas before paying because a handful of people would fill their car up and drive off without paying. Some restaurants on certain sides of town require you to pay for your food first before eating it because a handful of people would dine and dash. Some stores lock up certain merchandise because a handful of people would shoplift it. Certain recreational substances were made illegal because a handful of people misused them.Identification is required for a lot of things because of scammers pretending to be other people.Singapore banned everybody from having chewing gum because some people wouldn't properly dispose of their gum. Some countries banned people from tazers and pepper spray because a handful of people probably used them for criminal means.
