The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (light novel)
| Hi! So I finished both seasons of the anime along with the movie and decided to pick up the novels in preperation for the new volume coming this november but so far the novel is identical to the anime! Is there any reason to read them from the beginning or is it better to start from vol5 where the anime stopped? |

| There is no problem if you start from volume 5, there are minor differences on some chapters, but they don't really matter. The chapter 3 of that volume is the first chapter the anime didn't adapt. On volume 6, the first two chapters were adapted and after that everything is going to be new. |
