----------------------------------------
Naraku decides to expel a mass of flesh from within him for good, but it unexpectedly takes on a life of its own as another incarnation. The incarnation steals the face and name of a monk named Musou and wreaks havoc across the countryside, uncertain of his true desires until he sees Kagome's face.

Mod Edit: Removed spoilers.

Ever since I heard he was faceless I had my suspicions that Muso was actually Onigumo. Remember how his face so badly burned no one could recognize him?

The preview of the next episode practically gives it away that Muso is Onigumo though so I don't feel special for deducing it >.>

Oh boy, that new incarnation is both creepy and hilarious. That innocence is almost cute, slaughtering peasents while laughing like a madman. It was obvious that he would go for Kagome, as he have memories of Onigumo past life. At least, that's what it seem like.

Naraku really have fun creating homonculus. But I wonder if it has impact on his power. If he always divide his power creating multiple self, he'll end up with only a fragment he had to begin with.

I love how each time she come back and talk with her friend it's like a check up of the statue of her relationship with everyone

Kagome's friends' reactions are so amusing! How much would they take it if Kagome introduced InuYasha to them? But it would be delighting to see her introduce Miroku instead. And I can imagine how he'll ask them to bear his child. Haha!

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

The beginning portion with Kagome talking romance was pretty boring. But the rest was dark/creepy in a good way, and was very enjoyable.

If even Naruku call you the most abominable, then you know we are dealing with a real scummy character

I think Faceless is a manefestation of all human desires Naruku still had, considering he craves a lot of things.

somehow i have the feeling that naraku made that incarnation from his human heart, by the fact he remembers kikyo as part of his memories and he desire kagome.

The beginning was hilarious, particularly Kagome's conversation with her real-life friends.

Loving this arc so far, haven't been this interested in one in a while.

I don't get why Naraku doesn't just make some more of these monsters and send them to kill Inuyasha. I guess because plot.

Nice episode.

Now that I think about it, Kagome basically has a reverse harem. And her friends were accusing Inuyasha of two-timing...

I can't tell if Kagome's relationship with Inuyasha regressed. I still remember episode 48 where she was mature and accepted Inuyasha's feelings for Kikyo. Did she forget about that? Ig it's too early to tell because the next episode seems to have Kikyo and the anime might address this. Ig this sort of issue should come expected from long-running anime. Other Rumiko Takahashi anime had similar "issues".

She's very mature for her age when you think about it in the context of taking on all the duties and life-threatening perils of their adventures in the Sengoku era relative to girls her same age whose only responsibility in Tokyo and general urban/suburban modern Japan is mainly just going to school. But regarding relationships, she's still a 15 year-old girl. And I think even regardless of age, she's just human. At any age or in any circumstance, it's one thing to understand and accept something intellectually and in word, and quite another to always follow through and honor it in practice, or in deed.

It's akin to a person being on a diet (caloric restriction) for health and/or other lifestyle reasons. They can understand why they have to do it and it's the good and right thing for them, but they still want it and are still hungry, and might not always be faithful.
