| Prob not. It doesn't sell well. The only reason it got a season two is probably due to the fact that it was announced a split cour beforehand. While the show is generic, I see myself enjoying it enough not to drop it, so I hope for a S3. Not sure how good a LN needs to be for sales to warrant more seasons, but it's getting ~20k+ or so per a volume (At least the recent one) |

| They were willing to make it a 2 cour in the first place so they had some expectations for it, I don't think it lived up to it, but it's not a failure either so who knows they might try a s3 later on. |

| They have enough material for a third season, since the Gryps Festa is ending in the light novels. BR sales aren't great, but they are better than other shows that have gotten a second or third season. LN sales are decent but not fantastic. My guess is that they will see how well the second season sells and the impact of sales on the LN first. It will also depend on what else A-1 studios is working on. The probability of a third season happening is probably pretty low realistically, but it's not impossible and enough material is available. I wouldn't count on seeing it for a little while though.... Usually the purpose of these types of anime are to draw attention to the original source, so it makes more sense to spread it out. |
| I would hope so. Honestly I'm still shocked how much I enjoy this show all things considering given it's theme and genre. It's going to end with sort of cliffhanger since they are ramping up for this next festa so a conclusion I would not be expecting nor an official announcement of another season but shall see. |

While the novel is pure profit, doing a s3 and hoping for another novel boost in a year or 2 is what I would do. |

| Like I seeing, it has the smell of a 3rd season - But I guess, if an 3rd season/announcement gets after the of 2nd. Then we're getting the 3rd season probably sometime at second half of 2017... But like already mentioned: It's just a guess of me...xD |

If you want to know the chances of season 3, then i must say it is not high. Because it already has a 24+ episode being animated, which apply to all other anime. Many series only have 12 episodes. Unless the series is super popular, then it might have another season. Even the popular anime series also will stop at certain season 3 or 4. After that you will be directed to "buy" the light novel to know whats after. The Asterisk light novel's sales are not bad, only slightly higher in a healthy sales line. But how much it sales only just one of the factor, whats important is the popularity of the series. There seems to be s3 plotline coming up here and there in the last few episodes, but we can only know after the last episode aired to see how they manage those s3 plotline. If there is s3 plotline remaining, then they can do season 3 in the future. Even if they annouced the season 3, it will take some time also, maybe a year or two. After all it also depends on the production firm, Gakusen Asterisk is not the only anime they do, other anime lining up being animated. | I hope it get 3rd season. I want to see the next tournament 2nd season was better than 1st season. |
| While I feel the series gets progressively better with each volume, especially volume 7, I don't see a S3 coming at all due to sale figures and reception. But if one does come I'll be excited because theres more Sylvia, the chinese loli, plus the Gryps seems more interesting than the tag team. Also Claudia gets more screen time and objectively speaking she has the best potential out of the first 3 girls. |

| Last season's only sold like 2.5kish avg according to sales I could find on MAL. What is this season selling at in #'s? |

| It seems like it's iffy at this point. Though I'm really shocked that Asterisk has its LNs already licensed by Yen Press and it's gonna start releasing in North America this summer. In addition, Aniplex has its grubby hands on it so an English version could be in the works for the anime but as far as a season 3, I think everyone is just better off going to read the source since this series is gonna adapt the ending of Volume 6. |

| Endings mean nothing in gauging if an anime will get another season. All it means is this isn't the actual end to what it is adapting. Lest not forget the whole point of an adapted anime is to promote it's source. That said I hope it does but I feel doubtful. Shall see. If it does, it won't be anytime in the next 2-3 seasons. |

| Even though the anime isn't that popular and from what I read sales aren't that high either, it was still a very entertaining anime and I really do hope we get to see the Gryps Festa animated. It just sounds too cool to not get animated! |

| Whenever an anime introduces new characters and plot at the last minute, you can be sure as hell there wont be any sequel to that anime. So no I dont expect a S3 and neither should you. |

| ending with a cliffhanger or new characters is never an indication of a possible sequel/next season when it is a show adapted from LN or manga source material. It's more of a way to entice people to be interested enough to check out the source material and boost sales for that. The only positive indicator for Asterisk is how many different streaming services paid for the rights... But then again, those were negotiated before seeing how well the show performed. |

| They've hinted Gryps Festa, that's right, but volume six was sorta butchered. They didn't introduce some importans characters, like Helga Lindwall, and didn't bother to mention Danilo Bertoni. There were also some changes (originally, Madiath Mesa didn't inform Ayato about his sister, it was Witch of Time Control – Helga). Dunno about third season. It's not impossible (decent LN sales, not bad BD sales, A-1 Pictures), but it would be troublesome, since they've skipped/changed some importans parts of volume six. Anyway, I highly recommend Asterisk LN. It's way better than anime, in fact, kind of entertaining. Fansubbed version is good enough, but your best bet is probably waiting for YP (volume one soon). |
| To me, the story and fighting plots in Asterisk are far more interesting and exciting than the Rakudai one. Rakudai is not bad, but I want to see Asterisk 3rd if I can only pick one between the two. |

Only a few of the contenders are memorable, the rest are just fillers in Asterisk. In Asterisk, the main story plot is supposed to be about Ayato finding his sister through the tournament, but guess what? They completely throw that plot under the radar and just focus on the tournament instead. Rakudai have a much better plot and story overall if you actually have a good taste in anime. In Rakudai, each enemy have their own arcs and their reasons to fight are explained clearly in the eps they appear, making the fights more memorable and interesting. How could you not like the fight better in Rakudai anyway? That last eps of Rakudai is much more intense and interesting than any other fights in Asterisk. Mod Edit: Removed quote of deleted post. |

Would you make a list of reasons why sweet food is better than sour food, and try to make your friend change what he/she loves? Ridiculous, isn't it? From what I've read, I see that you love to see a straight forward story and a clear romantic relationship. However, personally, I have seen too many such genre and find it very cliche. So I prefer to see more mysteries, puzzles, friendships than romance, ambiguity, teamwork, and expects more surprises in store. As Dorakero mentioned above, Asterisk depicts a wider world than Rakudai, and it involves some politics, which makes things more complicated. Also, it's a story of self-discovering journey for Ayato, so he's supposed to drift. It's Julis's and Claudia's stories too. Toward the end of S2, I've learned more about Julis and am getting curious of the potential story/secret behind Claudia. What I'm trying to say is that those who love Asterisk better doesn't mean it's actually better than Rakudai, either way round. It's just about people's tastes.
