| It starts out slow but get better with the first arc, called Soul Society. Which is pretty good. imo I think you should just read and finish the arc and then if you like it continue if not you can always drop it. |

| The manga currenty got over 600 chapters, but the quality declines quite a bit, then rises, then peaks at Aizen arc and just drops from there. Well if you like a shounen with some great characters, Bleach is good, but if you also want a good story, not really. |

Bleach's story is straightforward but it emphasizes on characters. After 200 chapters or so the pacing does slow down but that's a good thing if you aren't reading it weekly. It's especially noticeable in the fights, they are all longer. |

| I've been re-creating he story from the start and I'm at the start of the 21st volume. Up to the point I've read, it's fantastic. The story is good, some very interesting twists, characters are likable, the character designs are good, the action and humour are done well too. After the Soul Society arc though it does get worse. It's good compared to your ordinary Shonen title but it does slowly get worse because everything that was good before slowly disappears. The story becomes more muddled, it becomes predictable, the humour pretty much vanishes, the character designs get more ugly etc. By the end of the Aizen saga it's not so great anymore. It's the best place to stop reading. The Full bring arc wasn't particularly bad but it was boring and when compared to how it started it's not very good. The current arc however is absolutely terrible. Re-creating through the Soul Society which is so good and then reading the latest arc at the time as chapters come out, it's hard to believe it's the same series. The artwork is ugly looking now. The character designs are absolutely piss poor. The fights are not only boring and predictable but they go on forever, unimportant filler fights now last far longer than the big important fights back in the Soul Society arc. It's actually depressing to see how far it went downhill because those first 21 volumes were just as good as the first 21 volumes of One Piece and Naruto and now it's one of the worst shonen manga's out there. |
