guys what do you prefer buying manga on online shops and read legit or reading manga at pirate streaming websites. Have you ever have you ever bought any manga?

I prefer buying manga and reading it physically, it's a better experience and a different feeling to have a book in your hands instead of just clicking a picture on the screen.

I have 85 manga volumes as of today, 6 of them were gifts, but the other 79 I bought, either online, in Barnes & Noble or other manga stores.

It's also great to be able to collect your favorite series, and also help the author and manga as a whole at least a little (if you can).

Yes, almost all the manga
I read have been bought by me.

I don't usually use online readers,
nor I purchase volumes via internet,
since everything I need I can buy
in a normal bookstore C:

Yep. I've bought manga before. It's nice to read it physically but I'd still prefer to read manga up online since I don't have much money to use in order to buy manga in the first place.

I own something like 900 volumes of manga. I've bought a lot of manga.

I won't say "I don't use scanlation sites" because I do but if it is something I like a lot (which is a lot lol) I will buy it.

I prefer reading legit.

I don't buy much but I utilize my local libraries - I'm very fortunate that I can get them to buy the books for me. After all, if I'm to buy something, I'd rather sample the actual book I'm buying.

Plus, when they are discarding copies, I get to buy manga dirt cheap during their book sales

Because no one ever baught mangas. <_<

I have like thousands upon thousand of manga in 日本語 and Français, my room is literaly half made of mangas (I wish I was kidding). So yeah, I baught some. Just some.

I'm not fond of reading online because most of the time the translation is janky and the chapters comes out completely randomly unless it's a popular shonen manga or just downright stops being translated for no apparent reason.

Plus it's more fun to have the real thing.

I might use online readers sometime to check somethings out if they seems interesting or not, and if they interests me I am likely to get them. Otherwise, like I said, not a fan.

Sure thing, since 2000. I started with that old Ranma edition. You know, the Viz ones with few chapters.

Since then, sometimes I buy on stands, other times on libraries and on the comic store of my city. Btw, 99% of those are Brazilian editions. Once in a while I find USA editions.

When I can, I also buy original Japanese tankos online. The store varies.

I think I still have the first manga I bought back in oh 92 probably, from Nostalgia & Comics in Birmingham. An issue of Ranma 1/2 This it was one leading up to the fight with the ice-skaters.

I've bought a few books since then, but I do find it much easier to flick through a manga online. I tend to find one I like and blitz through 60 issues in a couple of nights.

I prefer to buy manga, I feel like you get way more out of it.
Anime wether you buy it or not you'll be watching it on a screen, manga wasn't meant for that and I think sometimes reading it online can hinder the experience.
A recent example would be when I started to read noblesse (online) and there's that scene where they ask a question to the main character and he just stares at them, the next page is the exact same scene to enhance the long awkward silence in the conversation and I think the impact would be different if you had to physically turn the page rather than when you read it online.
There's some other stuff like the way your eyes move across the paper is different since you don't have to scroll and shit like that.

I only own a few volumes since my parents allow me to buy them once every few months and I usually buy the volume that peaked my interest the most.

Other than that I use online reader to satiate my thirst for chapters.

I can't wait for my first paycheck.. Hehehe

I usually read scans since they produce the content earlier than the legal outlets, I do subscribe to the legal outlets as well because the translations are much better and the chapters are easily understandable. However for completed series and series I like enough to support I will buy the volumes if they are translated.

In the country where I live you can not buy it in stores and if I tryed buying it on the internet the shipping would probably cost A LOT. I really wish I could buy manga...

I prefer buying manga and having the physical book in my library so i can read them whenever I want. Up until now I have collected approximately 70 volumes of different manga with great difficulty because the country I am from has a very limited market of that type and you have first to order what you want and then wait for about 2 months to fulfill your order.....so reading online was a solution eventually

I own like 200+ volumes of mangas which i've bought from bookstore (most of them are the long-running shounen manga. And yes, i haven't purchased any manga from online store). But now, i prefer to read online since the price becomes more expensive every year :/

Yes, i bought manga before but i prefer reading it online because in the place i live, people thinks that, people who reads manga or watches anime are just "childish" and they find manga "meaningless". I just don't want to be bothered by someone who calls me child or weird. So that's the major reason why i don't buy manga from store

Also manga is very expensive when you compare with normal books and i can't really find a store that sells them near the place i live

I read it online and if I like the manga I'll buy it to support the creator. Plus, they look nice on a shelf.

The last remaining streetlight to have withstood the test of time.
the last yet to be replaced by the sickening blue-green hue of the future.
I bathe. Calm; breathing air of the present but living in the past.
The light flickers.
I flicker back.

I do both but if I really like a series then I'll make sure to get my hands on the physical volumes if possible. Online is just for convenience, and I still prefer the feel of a physical copy tbh. Don't like buying digital copies.

Yeah, I buy physical copy of manga I really like, like Tekken Chinmi and Doraemon, reading manga in book form somewhat makes the series more addicting to read over and over again.
