| I have no problem with anime haters. Different people. Different opinions. Its that simple. However, it still pisses me off when haters said that they hate anime and actually try to make people, be it fans or non-fans, agree with them. I have met such people, whether on the internet or in real life. They would say things like anime sucks, anime is gay, anime is stupid, anime are for kids, and these are obviously people who don't like or even hate anime. More often than not they would say anime sucks without giving reasons why and insult anime fans. I have seen such people on YouTube, who uploaded videos saying that anime sucks and that anime fans are stupid and what not. I do know that its their opinion but I can't help but feel hurt by their videos and I'm speaking as an anime fan. Has anyone else felt this way before? I tried to brush it all away by thinking to myself that its their opinion but thinking about it hurts me. So, tell me. How do you normally deal with haters? |
| Believe it or not, I used to be one of those haters. Back when I was in high school, I would say similar things to all the "anime nerds". With this kind of background I can see why they would say such crap, and most of it boils down to ignorance or even hypocrisy in some cases. I had never watched or seen anime before, I just wanted to fit in with the rest of my friends and people that I knew. I suppose you could think of me wanting to be accepted or apart of the "cool crowd". lol I guess people are scared of being grouped with the anime-fan stereotype, which I will refrain from getting into. Anyway, I run into these kinds of confrontations online on a regular basis, although all of them are online. But I know better now to just to walk away or completely ignore the individuals(s) making such blatant assumptions. From there I'll just go play a game, listen to music, or just find something else to take my mind off of it. It's not that big of a deal if they're not into it, but don't sit there and say it sucks without any knowledge about what you're referring to. |

I have to say uploading videos and ranting about anime just to get onto the nerves of the fans is TROLLING! I normally ignore ignorant comments I came across on YouTube or any other sites for that matter. Being a Muslim, I have already gotten used to seeing mean comments saying that we are terrorists and what not. But when people insult anime and make it seem like anime fans are idiots, its just different. I dunno why. Its just different. |
| The best way to deal with them (in my opinion) is to ignore them. When they see that you're ignoring them or that you're not interested in anything they have to say, they'll just move on. And if they don't, just keep ignoring them. You can't let them win by giving into their ignorant words. |

| Its not that I'm giving in to them. I said it once and I'll say it again. I have no problem with people hating anime. Hell, I don't give a fuck if they want to upload hundreds of videos ranting on how anime sucks dick this and anime sucks dick that. But there is a difference when these haters start pushing it far and TRY to make us agree with them that anime sucks when we don't give a fuck about what they think. Its annoying. Its fucking annoying. Thats all there is to it. Its like there is not a single AMV without a comment saying that anime sucks and that we're wasting our time watching it. It kinda offends me in a way. I'm sure you understand, right? :) |

| I never really had to do with these kinds of people. I have come across sites like this though, which I find funny to read. Makes me laugh that someone who hates the object would make a website about it and collect all those screenshots. Unless the website is a parody on these haters, which makes it even funnier. |
