again interpretation
"in any way" can be interpreted by "any means." that changes the interpretation that nothing can stop this from happening no matter what.

The red truth is easy to misinterpret without an open mind. I might be wrong or I might be right. Only time will tell however right now I will hold to this interpretation and see what happens ^_^

Plus think about this
If the epitaph really speaks about a bomb. That would imply the bomb was set up around the time the epitaph was written. I don't think something like that wouldn't be noticed since the bomb itself would have to be pretty big to obliterate such a large area

My main point is even if bomb was located underground. they should be able to find a corpses (dig them out or something). There aren't many things which can erase them completly (unless police investigation was superficial or as Kaiser said somebody was in on it)

Who knows?

Anyone else think that all those phone calls are prerecorded tapes (that would explain the reason for the long pause at the start of each call and why Krauss couldn't "hear" Natsuhi on the phone). Plus that doesn't break Knox's 8th since they talked about audio tapes throughout the VN.

Wish someone used red to tell Erika that she was incompetent because I have to say she was really smart when it came to the technical stuff, but from what I'm guessing actually happened behind the scenes, she couldn't read between the lines of what was going on the entire time. She didn't even check ANYONES corpse.

Overall I thought that the EP5 was pretty damn awesome, especially the ????. Still think that EP3 is the best but EP5 is definitely my second favorite.

Well we can't be 100% that's right. Since the red text is at 24:00 at the end of the game it's possible that Natsuhi gets another call later on.

I'm not even really sure when the real murders took place. It looks more like everyone is either faking it in order to get Natsuhi to admit that Kinzo is dead and/or give Erika a surprise mystery for fun.

There's just so many inconsistencies with how the characters would normally act if they were actually in trouble.

(Dlanor says that pieces can't act completely differently than they normally would so I guess that could be some of the evidence needed for Knox's 8th)

- No one gets a gun
- Shannon and Kanon don't care that George and Jessica are dead
- Hideyoshi goes alone into an unlocked room and makes it a closed room even though his wife shows up outside his room almost immediately after he leaves (they find the corpse 10 min after he said he was going to the guest house, that means at the latest she was 5 min behind him). And he goes into the UNLOCKED room yet doesn't check the obvious places for a culprit.
- Kyrie and Battler purposefully stop Erika from checking the room
- And most of all Hideyoshi's corpse is not seen by Erika, it is covered in sheets when it is moved. Also the stake is removed from Hideyoshi's corpse when Erika isn't there (very similiar to what happens with Kanon in EP1)

That's what bothered me most in that scene.
Why was the scene not investigated throughly like the closed rooms, where a body was discovered, in the previous episodes.

I meant that we can't be sure that Kanon and Shannon both being seen by Battler is enough to crush the Shkanon theory.

(Well, I did forgot about them all being in the parlor anyway, so thanks for the reminder)

Well as for Shannon and Kanon, I am sure they were sad, but it just wasn't shown much. This game didn't put much emphasis on them at all.

This was pretty intense episode, so many red and blue were thrown around it got me confused. (Rudolf is indeed Jack Bauer, just saying...)
Why hide Erika's "revised" truth, it just seems unnecessary.

I was wondering, on two occasions there were scenes flashed before our eyes (one with Battler in space(?) and the other with the tea party) are any of these important and can someone make screenshots of those ?

I wonder how many bastards does Kinzo have from the orphanage...

For the first one, are you talking about when Bern was showing Battler the world of kakera and they saw a few kakera fly by? If so, at least one of those scenes was Kanon's "I'm the zero in your roulette!" moment in EP1. I can't remember the others. They were all flashbacks though.

I haven't gotten to the tea party yet though. @_@ Almost there!

I still think her design is stupid, but I like her character a lot.

Edit: I finished! I didn't cry at Beato's death either. It felt really sudden to me. I knew from spoilers it was going to happen, but I didn't find it as dramatic as I expected. Battler wasn't even "alive" at the time.

I love Lambda and Trollkastel! I hope Erika doesn't get killed/cast aside next game though, I like her too...

This was my least favorite episode of all. I felt like dropping reading it every ten mins or so. Not only did it lack the whole Umineko atmosphere, but (I'll have to go with the flow on this one), my gosh, Bern, discard Erika already, she's dreadful. I used to think Ange and Lambda were annoying... now I find them rather pleasant compared to Miss Detective. Yeah, I pretty much understand that a character such as her was needed, but that doesn't mean I can sympathize with her. And geez, I'm a big Natsuhi fan, so the whole setup made me raaaage. The only enjoyable thing about Ep5 for me was the ??? Party. Battler, please pwn them all in Dawn.

I've just finished End. Wow, it instantly became my fave. (That wasn't so hard, since I hated Banquet for the final trolling and Alliance for all the boring parts with Ange and Maria. So basicly my previous fave was Turn.)

I was wondering though... at that time End came out there were tons of fanart showing Batler with the cape. How come? He wasn't showed that way in End, was he?

Interesting theory I want to spread around, I got it from another website.

"The First Twilight cannot be real. It's simply not possible. Nobody's behavior makes any sense.

1) No one runs for the guns. They do this every time they have the opportunity (ep4 notwithstanding, and we don't KNOW what happened to the guns there). If they think there is a killer, they get something to defend themselves. All of the adults are alive, yet not one word is spoken of getting a weapon. Why? They believe they are in no danger.

2) They spend more time cornering Natsuhi than trying to figure out who killed everyone. Why would they specifically suspect Natsuhi at first? Why not suspect Battler's family first? Kyrie and Rudolf stand to gain the most. Not one time is any notion of their guilt suspected. That's because they're part of, or even organizing, the fake deaths and/or "game." No one suspects them because there's nobody really dead.

3) Hideyoshi talks to himself very pointedly about the door being unlocked and closing the windows. He then cries loudly over George. But he should know that, as far as he's aware, George isn't really dead. It's all an act, put on for Natsuhi whom everyone knows will be hiding in the closet. No one was in the room with him. He wasn't attacked at all.

4) Nobody bothers to search the closet, and in fact they actively prevent Erika from doing so. They would never be so daft. They knew Natsuhi was in there from the start, but they didn't want to corner her yet."

I like those theories. Parts of the first twilight had to be fake. The victims still weren't dead on the morning of the second day when Battler "discovered them" because it was said that the corpses never moved from where they were killed.

That's probably the only theory that makes sense about the first twilight. Rosa, Rudolf and Eva had a meeting before the conference where they discussed how to prove Kinzo's dead, it isn't hard to believe they thought of a plan B.
And normally Beato says everyone's dead after finding the bodies but here no one really says they're dead. They say the wound makes it look like they are. And the wounds... Rosa had from 1 to 3 a.m. to let the kids in on the plan and all that.
Not the mention how no one suspects Battler. Come on, their kids appear dead in the room where he slept being him the only one alive there. I find it hard not the slightest suspicion even being family. It's just like when Eva was the only one left alive in ep4.

Ok back on topic.
I don't undertand the explanation for the gold in Kuwadorian.
In Ep 5, Erika and Battler find the gold that is in a secret passage that goes downstairs and through a corridor, right?

So you're sayin that they walked all the way to Kuwadorian, found the gold, returned to the mansion, told everyone, then returned all the way to Kuwadorian to see the gold again, then returned to the mansion to continue with the Natsuhi-bashing?

BTW that post with the Beato theory is damn awesome.

The gold is not necessary in Kuwadorian; it's probably underneath/nearby the chapel. Remember :
- The three gold bars found in EP2.
- The writing on the chapel arc.
- Kinzo forbid people to snoop around the chapel.
- Kuwadorian is like 2 kms away from the mansion, it would have taken too much time for Eva and Rosa to make the round trip without casting immediate suspicion on them.

Do you have any reason to suspect that?

Although... even if he is the detective, there are clearly a few times where he's unreliable (end of EP2, for instance). So be careful about that.
