Hello, forum. I am searching for anime shows that are set in medieval times and/or have a female main character, preferably in which the story is told from her point of view. Thank you for your assistance.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha. Plus, you get very attached to the characters.

The new series http://www.funimation.com/shows/snow-white-with-the-red-hair/home might be up your alley.

There are a variety of shows set in historical Asian empires. They don't look European, but they have many similar social, economic, and political commonalities with medieval Europe. The best ones are adapted from novels for young adults by female authors and feature strong heroines. You might take a look at:

Juuni Kokuki (warning: starts slowly; give it six episodes)
Seirei no Moribito
Saiunkoku Monogatari
Kemono no Sou-ja Erin

As much as I enjoyed Hyouge Mono and Sarai-ya Goyou, women are few and far between in these shows. Also the latter takes place in 1860 or so, not really "medieval." The events in the Sengoku Period depicted in Hyouge Mono take place in the late 1500's.
