Yeah, so I'm just interested in knowing what do you use for music listening.

I usually use my computer at home and my phone when I'm not.

I use plex to stream music to my phone so I don't have to take memory up.

The software I use at home would be vlc, but I'm actually looking for specific music playing software for my desktop. I'm considering Music Bee, do you guys have any other suggestions?

The music file formats I have are mostly flac, ALAC, and some APE.

I use Foobar2000 and I mainly listen to FLAC.

It's pretty solid when it comes to customization and is very aesthetically pleasing if you find the right skin.

I mostly use my computer for everyday listening, and I use a program called "MOC."

I also listen to music on vinyl every once in a while.

VLC. I mostly listen to the video versions that I ripped off Youtube (yeah, I do that. Deal with it). I do plan on replacing them with legitimate audio versions.... when I get the money to do so, of course.

Is it complicated to use?

Will it play other formats like APE and ALAC?

It can play ALAC but not APE. However, there's a component you can download and use on Foobar to make it play APE.

Also Foobar isn't really that complicated to use.

I guess I'll try it out. Any suggested themes or skins? Is a theme and skin the same thing?

Okay, but do I have manually do everything that it says there? Or can everything be automatically set up if I install a theme?

It's automatic. It's annoying to get used to their settings sometimes though.

Well it's automatic if you follow the instructions, anyway

Actually what you probably want to do is just follow these instructions rather than the one posted in the link:
1) Install Foobar2000 from scratch
1.5) If you need to set up your Media Library do it now
2) Download a theme
3) read readme.txt
4) follow instructions (which is usually to extract components/skin folders to foobar2000 program folder, and configuration to %appdata%foobar2000)
5) ?????
6) have fun learning the layout

I've been using JAM after hearing about it in this thread and I'm not sure if I recommend it. It's really nice looking, I like the way it is, but it's hard to set things up properly without diving into code. Also uninstalling it isn't a simple task either.

Any other themes I should try?

Umm I think I have it set up right? Here is a screenshot of the theme I'm using. I feel it isn't too flashy but more practical which I like. Oh, and I just learned about this a few days ago, so I'm still getting used to a lot. Let me know if any of you have other recommendations with foobar.

I still haven't added in all my music.

That's cool, I've been using VLC for a long time. I didn't even know about that feature, but then again I mainly use it for videos and not music. So, how do you use that feature?

For optimum listening experience, Walkman with my earphone. For casual listening on my computer, Foobar with WASAPI. Still haven't got around in learning the scripts behind the GUI as you can see.

Whats wasapi?

The main reason why I like this plugin is because it mutes all other sounds in my computer.

Higher clarity in mid-range since my speakers tend to be rubbish at those sounds under that range. It really depends on your speakers and how good your ears are in distinguishing the difference. Sounds better to me so that's why I keep it.
