This, pretty much. Cheapest I've found (not including second hand) is £6.99.

The reason that is is because it is an omnibus, which is a couple of volumes put into one convenient book. Omnibuses are usually a little bit more expensive because they have multiple volumes worth of content in them.

80-110kr (~9.28-12,76$) in Sweden, new books. Some may sell for about 25kr(~2,90$) but that's just old swedish translated manga they want to get away with.

Well, it depends on the publishers, volume size and maybe some other factor. In Quèbec they cost around 10-13$ each. I don't know for the bigger volumes or collection edition like the Hokuto no Ken's one with a couple volume-in-1, I don't have any. Artbooks like Berserk Illustration, Evangelion Die Sterne and Fantasia cost much more though.

Where I live it's around 7 euros. I prefer to read manga in English or Japanese though, so I rather buy it online than at the store where it's translated in my country's language.

When not on sale, most manga in Canada is upwards to $20 a volume, plus tax.

I don't buy manga very often. There is no such thing as "book stores" or "second hand stores" where I live, so you can't find manga for a bargain here.

in italy ,25 years ago, the overwhelming majority were sold for 2 euros or less, but quality was abysmal, some literally fall apart in your hands, nowaday price for mainstream mangas like one piece are around 4 euros, niche mangas like Real, Made in abyss, Otomeyagari or Innocent around 6 to 8 euros, extremly niche like Seton up to 15 euros, deluxe edition 20.

cant really complain tho, average quality also improved vastly, and as a collector ive no issue to pay more for higher quality.

In Indonesia for the localized version, it’s about Rp30.000 (which is ~$2)
But for English translation and high quality paper (so like something from viz media), it’s around Rp200.000 (which is ~$15)

Localized like Japanese mangas translated into your language? Or your own Indonesian comics? It's cheap too, that's cool!

The imported viz media stuff here in the Philippines costs like that too, never had the chance to buy one after all these years. It has been like 5 years since I made this thread haha, the only manga I own was the complete 11 volumes of 20th century boys , i think it's the bigger size republish but in raw japanese, so I can't read it haha. Got them for about $2 a volume.

I meant japanese manga translated into my language. For own Indonesian comics, the price is higher than $2, but less than $15.

The difference in quality is pretty big though, viz stuff is really well made so no wonder it’s expensive.
The localized version uses newspaper paper, while viz stuff uses actual paper. Sometimes after reading localized manga, my fingertips become black from touching the pages and I have to wash my hands.

Also the localized version doesn’t have any color. All the pages are in black and white.

Do the Philippines translate manga and sell them at a cheaper price as well?

Viz stuff is expensive not just due to quality but also because it's imported, and isn't all manga generally black and white? With exception to some pages I guess.

I kinda get the newspaper print because it's probably the same with how Shonen Jump publish their weekly manga. It's also cheap, but I prefer cheap than anything else lol.

Sadly we don't have such an industry. Philippines doesn't have a good comic industry too, only independent publishers that doesn't publish that much quantity. Translations aren't much a thing here since we're an American colony, literally. We read most media in English but talk in Filipino, our native language. Sad reality for us, tbh

Yeah most of it is in black n white, but some cover chapters and like first few opening pages are in color.

Yeah, I heard the reason shounen jump uses newspaper was so that it could be recycled. I don’t think manga magazines are really for keeping, so using newspaper is pretty good. But the manga in my country are stand alone volumes for keeping, I’m not that affected by it since it makes the price cheaper. And like you said, I prefer cheap than anything else.

Actually now that I remember, there are premium localized manga which uses better paper (I haven’t bought those yet though) which is at Rp50.000 (~$5)

I thought every country had their own translation of jap manga, guess I was wrong.

In Germany it costs around 7,50 € - 10€ for a normal book version. Special/Limited editions can go up to 20-30€. As Ebooks however they are cheaper and cost normally around 5€.

For me a 3 in 1 omnibus can cost anything from £10 upwards (although these deals are only popular shounen) and a single is anywhere from £8 - £15 if it is above that you can usually find it cheaper
